  1. Lol! Thanks! Well, I've at least managed to keep some food down today so that's a start! And my kitchen has been cleaned this evening - Yay! Not the best start to a first challenge but I've still got four days left of the week!
  2. Hey! I'm in Mountsorrel - between Loughborough and Leicester Whereabouts in the shire are you from?
  3. Bettie

    Paying the price

Oh I feel your pain! One of my goals is to schedule in a proper 'healthy carb' day so I am less likely to hit the milk chocolate and cakes at random times. If I have sugar, it really knock me sideways for about a week, and of course I then find it harder to get back on track if I'm feeling rubbish! Mmmmm, nothing really useful there but have some sympathy and don't feel too bad about it!
  4. Bleurgh! I have the lurgy! Non specific temperature and general achyness - probably a viral thing picked up from a random child somewhere. I'm dying I tell you! Dying!
  5. Hey there! I've already said hi in the Ranger camp and stated my challenge goals, but thought I'd stop by here too as I hadn't actually introduced myself! Finally getting my life and health under control, and now I have a whole bunch of rebels to hang out with. Awesomesauce! Just concentrating on baby steps at the moment but would love to try crossfit - just waiting back from my local box to see when they next have a trial session. Oh, and archery. And climbing! I'd love to be able to do that! I think, mainly my health goals are to get to a point where I can do all the things I've been wanting to have a go at without being in serious danger of injury. I've divvied up the available evenings with the man-shaped-thing so now I just have to fill the time productively! Yay for newness and enthusiasm and stuff! ps You lot have to keep me going when all the shiny wears off! ;P
  6. Aaw maaaan! I really wish I'd gone to the effort of creating a story now - yours is great! Nice to see another kitchen based life goal, it's amazing what a difference keeping mine under control makes to my overall mental outlook! Here's to clean worktops and shiny sinks
  7. Hi everyone! New Ranger recruit Bettie here, found NF a few weeks ago and now all ready to jump right in at the deep end with my first challenge! Finally feeling like I'm starting to get my life and health back on track, and hoping that having some clear goals will help. I'm currently 34, 5'9", 9st 6lbs, and I've been following paleo/primal diet and strength exercises (squats, incline pushup, assisted pull ups, plank) for last 3ish months after spending some time on a mainly vegan diet. I can see and feel clear changes already, but I have had way too many instances of eating crap because I hadn't planned in any 'cheat days' thinking I didn't need them! Life goals - I've just started childminding, so my goal here is focussed on organisation. I used to have OCD and a spotless house - although there's no way you would guess that now! Although I don't miss the illness I do kinda miss the clean house bit! Right so: 1 Fitness goal - Bodyweight Strength Workout at least 2 times a week STR 4 I'm just focussing here on actually doing _something_ as usually when I've actually started a workout I do plenty, and I'm not sure I am at a stage where I could set any specific weight or rep goals yet. 2 Fitness goal - Hiking for at least 5 miles at least once a week END 3 This can be done either over one or two sessions (but no more), preferably with a pack - If we do this as a family usually I will have the daysack with water and fruit in it and I end up carrying the toddler in the sling for a good part for the journey! 3 Diet goal - Stick to paleo for 6/7 days and have a clear defined 'cheat day' once a week CON 4 I'm hoping this will help me stick to paleo for the other days Obviously I'm going to do my best not to pig out on crap on that day, but rather use it as a day where I can have a big portion of fruit crumble and custard after dinner - hell, if I do it on a day where I'm exercising I could even call it a carb refeed! 4 Life goal - Clean down kitchen every night!!! WIS 3 CHA 1 Yeah. So i don't get up to a stinky mess of last night's dinner. It's a bit rambly! Whaddya think?
