  1. I did the Couch to 5k last year and after the program ran my first 5k ever...35 minutes...not bad for someone who never ran ever!!! Its a great program!! Stick with it and you will be running!!
  2. Hello All!! I am so elated to find this 6 week challenge...no joke but right before I stumbled onto this challenge I was sitting at my desk writing down my goals for a personal 6 week challenge I wanted to do. It was while researching paleo recipes when I jumped onto NerdFitness and BAM!!! Fitness challenge in my face!! I am happy to find not only a challenge similar to what I wanted to do but also a group of people to get support from!! Whoot-Whoot! Here comes the fun part...a little about me... I was an obese child, teen, and adult...at my highest weight I was 250lbs which on a women is no bueno. Two years ago, I started feeling extremely ill and thought I was suffering from some incurable disease...I went to the doctor and after a series of tests I was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and a BMI of 49%. Great --lifestyle diseases...not the "it's not my fault I got this disease" disease. So there I stood at the fork in the road. I could keep on the path I was on "unhealthy and medicated" or I can make changes to make my life and my family's life healthier and happier. I chose the latter... the thought of my kids having to take care of me while because I was too sick to take care of them scared me to change. My change...you may not agree with my choice but it was mine... I decided on weight loss surgery to help me in my weight loss journey. Feel as you may but it was my choice... One year later I am down to 170 (my weight in 4th grade) and i am grateful for the jump start and now one year later I am at a standstill... I guess I can be fine with the weightloss I achieved...but I really want to get stronger and leaner... I work out, ran my first 5k, did a Muddy Buddy race, and for the most part eat well. But I am ready to change my body, gain muscle, strength, and overall fitness. I love the Paleo lifestyle and slowly have been converting the whole family and I feel this challenge to kick off a new set goals and reach my ultimate weight and fitness goals (to be named). Initial Stats: Weight 170 ht: 5'7 Waist:36 Goals: Lose 12lbs in 6 weeks decreasing BMI from 26% to 24% (get out of overweight column) CON +3 STR+2 Run 5k in 33 mins by running 3x a week STA +2 DEX +2 Cut out unnecessary carbs ie ice cream, popcorn, occasional cigarettes, liquor WIS+3Life Level Up Goal Take the stairs, ride my bike, or walk places with my kids CHA+3 Can't wait to do this!!!
