  1. While I'm trying to eat primal during the duration of this challenge, I can't help but wonder how I can live without Italian food- the amazing pastas, the fluffy breads. I wish to someday have a multitude of tomato plants in my garden to enjoy bruschetta and caprese salads and homemade marinara sauce and margherita pizzas... I recently came into possession of a recipe for the best alfredo sauce I have ever had, and it is healthier than my dad's version to boot. How do you guys resist your absolute favorite foods in favor of turkey roll-ups and string cheese, greek yogurt, or omelettes? I like all those things, but they don't make me happy the way Italian food does. I want to dance and sing when I have a good batch of bruschetta with high-quality bread. I jump for joy at the prospect of having spaghetti. I want to marry the owner of an Italian restaurant. O_O Seriously, it is my favorite stuff ever.
  2. Laney, thank you for your advice. I love your picture, btw. I don't have any extra money to work with, so while I can have eggs for breakfast instead of toast or cereal (which is pretty much the only breakfast I've ever had since I first started eating solid food), getting a gym membership is way outside my budget. I also worry about what would happen to the food I would buy with 3 brothers with bottomless pits for stomachs. I'll start looking into dinners I can pack to eat at school later- I have to get my homework done!
  3. Okay, so: problem. Waking up at 5:40 am always leaves me sleepy the whole day and needing a nap mid-afternoon. I have classes that go until about 10 pm, so going to bed earlier isn't a possibility. My classes start in the mid-afternoon, so I need to be awake and alert during that time. Am I allowed to change my goal? Also: Instead of gaining any weight, I actually lost a pound. I immediately tried to start eating more and I had two slices of toast with almond butter instead of just one, and I made myself sick. DDD: My family's stockpile of food doesn't go well with a primal diet. What should I do? ;__; Now I have two pounds to gain! My little brother and his friends completely destroyed the area where I was stretching and doing dumbbell exercises. It looks like a tornado came through there. It was supposed to be my mom's home gym but she never used it so I'm the only one who cares. :C I only have access to a real gym once a week when I go to my school's main campus, and I always feel like a Nofreaking Clueicus. I really don't know what to do with the equipment in the gym.
  4. Update: I did an Angry Birds workout on Monday night. My arms still hurt from the push-ups, and I'm only on level one! I got three stars in everything else though. I've been able to wake up at the specified time... But it takes me another ten minutes to get out of bed. Regarding my diet: I made an egg and cinnamon apple omelet for breakfast this morning, and I'm having wild-caught Alaskan keta salmon for lunch. P: I haven't succombed to the chocolate cookies on the shelf yet either! Instead, I had celery sticks with almond butter and some organic trail mix with chocolate, dried fruit, assorted nuts, and sunflower seeds. I'm way behind on my life goal. ._. I need to work harder on that.
  5. I like your roleplaying too. Small women with huge hammers are the BEST. Go for it!
  6. Yay! Hello, same-name-buddy! I'm so pleased to discover that I was able to inspire you! I wish you the very best luck with your challenge! I'm hoping that setting aside the time for reading and resting will help me deal better with school when it starts. :'D
  7. I'm 23 years old, female, occupation: student. I'm pretty lucky. I've never struggled with being overweight. My biggest weight issue right now is that I'm too light to donate blood to the Red Cross, and, I don't know, it just sounds like a good idea for me to be able to lose a pint of blood without dying or whatever. My starting weight is 112 lbs. My official fitness goals are to: Gain one pound healthfully - preferably of muscle +2 CON +1 CHA Choose Primal - for my snacks and whenever it's my turn to cook. +1 CON +2 WIS Wake up early - at 5:40 am each day and immediately go on a short walk. +1 STA +3 WIS My life goal is to: Read my Bible - to Jeremiah 23:8 (I'm currently at Numbers 27:1) and take a Sabbath day every week. +5 WIS The goals might seem as if they're too easy. I believe in baby steps... I want to build a little bit of confidence, and I quite frankly don't know how to push myself.
