  1. So I've been reading NF for a few weeks, and in an effort to get rid of my horrible procrastination, I'm signing up for this 6 Wee Challenge. My backstory: I was always an athletic kid all the way through college. Swimming competitively from 9 - 16 (I swam against Michael Phelps when we were both 12 - he dominated the pool back then as well), ultimate frisbee, road cycling, and 4 years of rowing at college. I'm a tall guy, so it's pretty easy for me to hide weight if I gain a few pounds here or there. Started college around 190, ended up around 210 or 220. A few day ago one of my buddies from college showed me a picture of the two of us back in peak condition. Holy shit. It's been maybe 7 years, and I have fallen far. Peak form I was about 200-205 lbs. I weighed in yesterday at 254. Reality check time. So here are my fitness and diet goals for the next 6 weeks: 1. Eat a healthy breakfast every weekday. I usually skip breakfast, but a week ago I started using a juicer and making a cup of carrot/apple juice to start my day. 2. Perform 2 interval runs and 2 basic bodyweight circuits each week. 3. Drop 10 lbs by the end of this challenge - 244. My plan of attack is largely dependent on the fact that I have a very flexible job. If I wake up later than planned, I can still focus on eating a healthy breakfast by going in a little bit later than normal. Likewise, I'm going to pack workout clothes in the morning so that if I can't make it back home for a workout after the day is over, I can workout strait from the office. Weight loss is going to happen by being more conscious of what I'm eating - although I've tried and failed at total calorie tracking in the past, so I'm going to do this more generally for now. Life level up goal: 1. Provide accurate project estimates to my boss and coworkers - aiming for 80% accuracy. (If I say something is going to take 2 days and it actually takes 4, that is bad. If I say 2 days and it takes 2.5 or 1.5, much better.) I really want my non-fitness goal to work, but I'm struggling to find a reliable way to measure progress. I think a combination of responding quickly to emails with a definitive timeline and then looking back at those emails when something is actually finished could be a good starting point, but if anyone has other suggestions I'd love to hear them.
