  1. Reading your weekly summaries is like scanning Hermione's report card, you just know it's gonna be all A's.
  2. So much awesome in this post. Have fun knitting. Hope you get a nat 20 on your skill check.
  3. Slacking is when you don't bother cramming, what you did was make up for lost time.
  4. Reading that post makes me glad I'm not in school anymore. After I graduated it was over a year before I stopped freaking out thinking I had homework to do.
  5. Good job Rangering week 2! Just remember, try some stuff, and try not to let those variances be an excuse to go overboard.
  6. Want to groan at the puns but so proud of you for making them...
  7. I think you have accurately portrayed a Sam Ashen Conscious eating decision event.
  8. Those are great results for week 2! And leaving beer behind!?! You ARE AWESOME!
  9. Padre's fine, a lot of chaplains get called that even if they're protestant. Chap, pastor, preacher, Brother, and Rev are all acceptable, as well as anything they called Fr. Mulcahey on MASH. Sounds like you had a great time at the meetup. Yes, it's still a good idea to be scared of people you meet on the internet. Also, you never want to meet this guy: Just eat Poutine, put maple syrup on everything, learn some hockey slang and switch z to zed
  10. Sounds like another good day in the books, you'll manage with finances till the job starts back up, and you'll do especially well after. That would be awesome.
  11. And it's slacking and disappointment coming around the corner, slacking is pulling ahead, no it's dissapointment, no it's slacking, but look out! Coming from behind it's Sterre picking up steam, Slacking, dissapointment and Sterre, disappointment falls, Sterre pulls out ahead, and its Sterre for the win! Sundae's right, you weren't really slacking in the first place.
  12. Good job on the challenge work. Hope your legs feel better soon. That's great about the shoulders moving on the pullup, it's always encouraging when you get that first sign of progress. Have you seen Steve's how to do a pullup blog post?
  13. Thanks, I edited the post to point out that those are stock pics off the internet, but are representative of the brisket I had. It's probably the mobile thing, it's a vimeo video and not Youtube. Since I rested yesterday I went ahead and did the workout for today from my run app. It called for a 45 minute brisk walk/jog, so that's what I did. I got out and explored more deeply the creek at the back of the complex, wandering in both directions as far as I cared to go. I wandered some of the flat part of the greenbelt not on the trails, then got out onto the street for the final bit. All in all I logged 2.9 miles in 51:40 and claimed the miles on the Boromir was right thread. I had soup going in the crock pot, so I was able to walk in between church and lunch, which I'm eating now (It's awesome). Since it was what the run app called for I'm claiming it as a run day. Week 2 totals, I did three run days, three lift days (including all those PR's), cleaned the apartment and cooked and stayed within my limits on paleo variances. I still need to get started on the verbatim goal. A+ on the first four goals, IP for the verbatim goal.
  14. Thanks Raider. The wedding was a blast. The bride and groom were so great together and it's always a privilege to be a part of someone's big day. The ceremony and reception were a little past Boerne, TX out in the country. You get off the highway, then off the access road, then off the road and drive down a caliche driveway to a building built like a barn but for the express purpose of being a wedding venue (you see the exterior at 1:13 in the video, the interior at 2:13). We had the ceremony inside, I got to stand in front of a huge fireplace to officiate (seen at 2:22 and 3:01). The couple had different food from what is shown in the video, the star was the brisket. I didn't eat too far off paleo, the only things I had that weren't paleo were the chips and queso (not too much) and the potato salad (again, not too much) I didn't have too much food before I felt very full. Now about this brisket: I may have had better brisket than this, but if I did I can't remember. The smoke ring was a good 1/4 inch thick. When I first went through the server offered me BBQ sauce and I said "I trust your pit master." (Which meant I didn't want sauce.) The server blinked, thought for a second, then smiled and said "thank you." (It turns out the guy who did the brisket is a friend of his. I went back and asked for seconds along with some burnt ends .. It was so good I almost cried. Edit: I forgot to add I had a small slice of wedding cake. Also, the brisket pics are not what I ate that night, but they are representative of a good brisket.
