  1. Shello, if I ever meet you in real life, I will take about 30 minutes to adjust to the fact that you do not have green skin thanks to this.
  2. Sounds like a good day. I feel for Slothgirl. I didn't really struggle in school with behavior (I was pretty boring that way) but I could get bored when the teacher's were lazy. I learned about Gardner's theory multiple intelligences in an ethics class in seminary of all places and there are some teachers who could stand to be reminded of same.
  3. I'm sorry, I overreacted to you insulting the Redskins. It would be as though I had spontaneously insulted the Bears. That said, there was a time when the NFC East reigned supreme throughout the league (mid 90's) when we won 5 out of 6 Superbowls Sounds like you had a blast. Give yourself those 20 points, you didn't specify in your goals "Unless something is a fluke."
  4. Just keep swinging your axe of good choices at the tree of clean eating. It will eventually fall down.
  5. Looks like you had a blast prepping for CAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMP! With whom did you meet at the meetup?
  6. Apple. *Facepalm* Fruit is good carbs too. How did none of us think of fruit?
  7. Texas and Australia can always agree on Horses and Hats. Now, we may disagree about the kind of hat, but you have to have hats. Goodonya Mate, or as we say in Texas, Proudya boy!
  8. @Nymeria, it's always good advice to tell people to have more fun! @Rurik, So proud of you to be the GoRuck Trailblazer, you guys have fun in the frozen North and wear NF gear on the ruck!
  9. Somewhere in the You know you're a Ranger... thread there is a line about everything you do being done to help you train for everything else you do that helps you with all your other training...
  10. In the helping professions we call what you described self-care. It's a great way to prevent burn-out and compassion fatigue.
  11. Thanks, I hadn't thought about it that way, I was thinking in terms of net dollars per pay period. Thanks so much! I feel like a grown up now Thanks man. In honor of your encouragement to me I present Aragorn with a full beard. Thank you, I've made too much progress to give it up.
  12. I'm 34 and this is the first time in my life I had a beard worth keeping, if that makes you feel better.
  13. Love it. Thanks. The rehearsal went great, very laid back. I seem to get asked to do a lot of, "We don't want a big ceremony" weddings, which is nice because it takes the pressure off of everybody. Intrestingly, I have never officiated a wedding in a church, they are always at wedding venues or outdoors. The rehearsal dinner was from a BBQ place in town that had recently expanded from a food truck to a food truck and storefront. The brisket and chicken were amazing, and paleo. The German potato salad and baked mac n cheese were not paleo, but I had budgeted my variances around the rehearsal and wedding so no worries. The potato salad was the best I had in years. I started feeling like my body was fighting an infection right before I got off work, in fact, one of my lymph nodes right by the jaw felt a little swollen. I wasn't sick, but could tell I needed to take it easy to stay well. Last night I decided to make today a rest day, since in order to run I would have needed to get up earlier than normal to run before work due to travel to the wedding. Sleep needed to be the priority, and I can tell this morning it was the right decision. Seems like a lot of folks needed to take an unexpected rest day in week 2. In other news I am officiallly full-time at the hospital. HR finally moved it's rear end and converted my status to full time which means: health insurance and a matching 401k, PTO accrual (paid time off, usable for vacations or camp next year) and no more clocking out for lunch, which translates into an extra 2.5 hours of pay each week.
  14. That's great about the muscle gain, it's good you enjoyed your gymnastics class. The RP writeup is great!
