  1. Hey rangers! I've been trucking along pretty well. I've been hitting all of my goals. One hitch--I had McDonald's with a friend last night. Not a huge deal I suppose, since I have been really consistent other than that, but nonetheless, it sucks. I felt so sick after eating it...blarg. Anyway, I'm back to it and am looking forward to more progress! Hope everyone is doing well!
  2. You're goals are awesome! I'm interested in finding out more about #1, but they all look good! Good luck! :]
  3. Thanks kevralyn and Oklibrarian! I'm super excited about the challenge and opportunity to improve myself. I'm excited to hear that you're on track for a PHD, librarian. That's awesome! And about the song: You're welcome!! (but I'm sorry...haha)
  4. Hey there! I really like your goals. I really like your #3. It always comes down to the day to day, but you can do it! It sounds like you are already quite accomplished.
  5. Well, that sure changes things! haha Are you sure you are in the right profession? The Warriors might like you.
  6. Good luck with the challenge and congrats on losing 20lbs! Keep at your strength training. I like your life goal! I look forward to seeing your progress.
  7. Hey there! Its good to see you want to get back to it. Just be careful with running yourself short by weight training 5 days a week! If you want to weight train everyday, perhaps you could do circuits, cross-training or body-weight exercises in lower intensity. Good luck with all of your goals! Everyone is here to help!
  8. I like your goals. You can manage them and they are important! Just make sure that you have your gym times written down and are solid so they don't slip! Good luck!
  9. Good luck on your exam here too! Grrrrr, the maths!
  10. I definately agree! Right now, I'm on break from university and am just working, so my workouts are a bit different. I'm doing them at weird times after work. Meh. However, I do have set times everyday for when I get back to school and can use the gym. I definately appreciate the advice though.
  11. Poor cats...jk! haha Those are some respectable goals, for sure. Good luck!
  12. Nice choices! So what are the two next books your are planning on? I think that's a pretty good level up your life goal! Have fun!
  13. Jedi is totally right! That's what I had to do. The only difference for me was that I kept a little pocket book rather than a calendar at home.
  14. I like your goals. Getting through PT can be hard, but keeping it consistant is the key. You can do it! The only thing that I would suggest is maybe incorporate walking into your running goal. I don't know how much you walk or run, but doing a little something everyday is usually the way to go. Also, what are the riding lessons you are talking about? I'm just curious. haha
  15. Lefty, I'm glad to hear that! I have done my best to become a Reanaissance Man as it were. Although I'm incorporating more fitness into my life, I won't let my studies slip!

    DON'T PANIC!

You're looking pretty good, man! Nice goals (as expected of a veteran ;p). If I might, what is your business?
  17. Nice managable goals! Good for you! Oh, and welcome!
  18. Hey goodash! I like your goals! It great to see someone quit smoking! I've been there and I wish you luck! I am super happy to see that your wife is on board too! That's what makes it so much easier. I look forward to seeing your progress.
  19. Thanks Iris! And yeah!! I'm loving Arabic...even if it is a heck ton of work. I'm enjoying eating paleo and I appreciate the back up!
  20. It sounds like you know what you want! Its good to hear you have clear goals and are starting paleo! Go for it! :]
  21. I really like your goals! They are very specific and forward thinking. I especially like your life goal. It is certainly applicable and wise to have as a goal!
  22. Nice goals! It might sound strange, but I really like that one of your goals is to get 8 hours of sleep! I look forward to seeing your progress!
  23. Hey everyone! I've been on NF for about a year as a lurker, but I am looking to have a community and accountability! I have been changing many of my diet and fitness habits, but I want to take this challenge as an opportunity to really kick it up a notch. I am 5' 10" and 175 lbs at the moment. My goals are, in general, a schedule to build basic fitness and diet skills/habits. I want this challenge to be the first leg of my new adventure as a ranger! (I'm on the way to Bree, I suppose) Here are my goals: 1) Follow a "couch to 5k" guide. Although this is a 12 week guide, at 6 weeks I should be at the 25 minutes of constant jogging stage. STA +4 2) Follow the 5x5 weight training routine. Right now I am doing bodyweight exercises, but I would like to start weight training now that I have a baseline to work off of. STR +4;STA +1 3) Eat 80% Paleo. I have been hitting this goal, but I would like to continue. I feel like this goal is not too high since I have already been doing it, but I also do not want to set myself up for failure. Also, I need a little bit of leeway since my 21st birthday is at the end of the month. CON +4 4) Practice Arabic for 45 minutes a day. I am taking Arabic at university and got an A in it last semester (woot!), but I want to practice more. Last semester I did all of my homework (about an hour or two per night), but I would ususally cut my speaking practice to 20 minutes after that. This semester I want to increase that so I can develope my practical speaking skills! The 45 minutes won't include my homework time. WIS +1;CHA +1 If anyone has suggestions on changing my goals, attributes or think that these are a little to vague, let me know! I've written out a lot of stuff for me to follow and refer to for the specifics, but I would love comments! Thanks everyone!
  24. Hi loden! Like you, I have just joined the community and for the same reasons. While I am being attentive to my caloric intake and am becoming more active, having support is exponentially helpful! As far as the people here go, I think you are right. It is laid back but also goal oriented, which is exactly what I wanted too. I've been lurking for awhile and have am wanting to change my lifestyle. I believe that with the people here and the advice and community, that we can really reach our goals! Good luck and know that you have friends here. :]
  25. Mae govannen! I am a University student in the US and 20 years old. Like most people who have joined this rebellion, I am looking to make a change in myself for the better. While I determine my own fate on this journey, I have come here for the tools, knowledge and support to make it a success and I thank you in advance for these things. Let me paint you a picture of Calimor. Where I am: 5'10" 79kg Moderately weak muscles Low endurance (can only jog 1.5-2km comfortably) Good reflexes Mediocre sprints Where I want to be: 71kg Strong muscular system, especially a strong core Good endurance (5km run!) Develop my short distance running This is so that I can be a: Factotum!!! I want to be a well balanced character capable of doing...well...anything with some success. I would like to be able to run and lift to some degree with the goal of simply living a healthy life.
