  1. By the time September 30th hits, I will have completed 1,000 pull-ups in the month of September. Want to join me? I know, I know. This isn't the typical Nerd Fitness 6 week challenge. However, I want to get motivated to finally become a pull-up master so this sounded like a good way to start. Who am I? David Damron, creator of BecomeaBeast.com Why you should join me? I suck at pull-ups and want to become a stud at them. Most people I know suck at pull-ups too. So, we all have to start somewhere. It might as well be together. Also, pull-ups can be done anywhere you can find something to support your weight and, well, pull yourself up and let yourself down. Why 1,000? It's a round-ish number. Plus, that averages to about 34 pull-up's per day. If all you did was pull-up's for 5 minutes per day, you can easily accomplish this goal. BUT...you gotta stick to it. How am I taking on the challenge? To get a really good pull-up in, I like to use the bars at the gym which I am at every other day at the least. This means that I will need to do about 60+ pull-up's if I go every other day. That's going to be horribly tough. So, I am going to try and squeeze in about 20 in random other spots here and there. What if I fail? If you fail, you still will have done more than you probably would have otherwise. Simple as that. So, Nerd Fitness fanatics...Are you down to take on this month long challenge? Keep daily track on a spreadsheet of your pull-ups and we can all check up on each other here. David Damron BecomeaBeast.com
