  2. Oh my god,that just made my day!!! That and the Ritalin kitteh gif! Those three little side hops at the end do me in. I went to a class where the instructor put a cold stone on our brow while we were in shavasana it was kinda amazing.

  4. Yeah...active recovery...hahaha. Sadist I had never heard this song before! Thanks for the find!!! So it got up to 97 degrees today, and I have not changed my coffee intake to take into account that heat. So yeah...I am chugging water and pedialyte to rehydrate and rebalance my electrolytes.
  5. Oooooh...I love swimming! I don't do it near as much as I would like though. Sounds like your meditation is actually going pretty well! In my experience most of meditation is your mind having random freaking thoughts, and the more you do it the more random they can become. I will tell you right now that I have stood up to sing that damned repeating song, had a scratching fit, fallen asleep, replayed entire conversations in my head but this time thought about what I should have said. The best name that I have ever heard for this sort of thing is from Zen, and they call it Monkey Mind. It makes me laugh every time I think about it because I think of this monkey that is desperate for you to play with it, and you are passively trying to just observe it, so it starts acting out: screaming, throwing things, hitting you, just dumb dumb things. So yeah...don't think that meditation is supposed to be all calm mind and blissing out...sometimes it is, but other times...not so much, but like going to the gym and putting in a crappy workout but still going, the important thing is just to put in the time even if it kinda sucks Encouraging, no?

  8. All of this talk about kombucha is making me want to try some myself! I'm happy that some of the neck pain and tingling is subsiding, very good news!!!

  10. Oh, I forgot to add one little thing that I am doing for myself (aside from some meditation), I have been listening to They Might Be Giants radio on Pandora a little bit each day. Laughter is a great medicine!
  11. It's the shorts. Those shorts bring all the girls and boys to the yard! Thank you all for the positive thoughts and sympathy. Divorces suck, but more than that in my case it is just WEIRD! We are getting along better now than we have the past 3 months, but also going through the property. I keep on looking at the stuff that I am keeping and I feel like I am back in college, lol. Okay, enough about that though. It has been far too long since I have updated this thread! I am moderately pleased with how week one wrapped up: Yoga: I went 2 times not the 3 that I had hoped Weights: I did all of the workouts, although i didn't do legs until Sunday...which has proven to be a grave error on my part My legs are like little rocks of hatred right now, which makes work ohhhhh so much fun, LOL. So you can all giggle at the thought of a hobbling UPS guy rather than a sprinting one. I knew that there was a reason that I set it up to do them on Friday. HIIT: I completed my 2 times Volunteering: I sorted donations at Goodwill for 2 hours on Saturday. That was actually kind of relaxing. I was able to just focus on the task at hand and do a kind of working meditation. Now, for this week so far. I completed chest/back last night. That is about it. Yoga is going to happen Thurs, Sat, and Sun. HIIT is going to happen Wed and Thurs. I need to find someone to watch my dog on Saturday for me to be able to volunteer then. I think that I can find a friend to watch him for a couple hours, so probably not a big deal (ex is coming to get her stuff on Saturday and requested that I take the dog with me because she doesn't want to upset him, and she will become upset herself if she sees him again). Again, thanks for all of the encouragement, really

  15. I have no idea if this one has been said already, but: "I can't believe you eat that many eggs, you should really watch your cholesterol!" Sorry, but my hardboiled eggs are a whole hell of a lot better for me than your powerbar!
  16. LOL! It is funny that you mention your cat being needy. I got my dog, Malcolm (I am such a Firefly nerd!), when he was 6 wks old. Let me tell you what trying to meditate is like with a teething puppy: *shift shift shift* "There that is comfortable, time to stare at a wall...Mal...what are you doing Mal??? Oh GOD PUPPY TEETH!!! NOT MY FINGERS, DEAR GOD, WHY?!?!" Yeah...that is peaceful for ya, lol.
  17. Those be some pretty fierce demons that you are facing. I tried vegan for about 2 months, but never tried raw, I am interested to see how this goes. For avocado, if you only plan on using half of one use the side w/o the pit, then sprinkle lemon juice on the fruit side of the other half, place in a ziploc making sure to get as much of the air out as you can, and store in the fridge. The other half should be good for another 2 days. I like to use mashed up avocado and salt as a butter substitute, although with eating raw I don't know what you would need a buttery spread for.

  19. Excellent... *cue Mr. Burns voice* Totally jealous of the house situation, hopefully it goes well! So, what is up with all of the kids still being in town?!? I thought that we were supposed to have it back by now???

  22. Wow, that is an amazing first update! You know, honestly I use protein powder like nobody's business...I probably shouldn't, but it is just so darned convenient when you are eating vegetarian!
