  1. I'll be watching this. I have a cattle dog mix. Best dogs evar! I also wish I were in as great shape as he is. He's almost 9, and can still run circles around me. Great goals, and good luck!
  2. I missed the last few challenges. Life got hectic, but I'm ready to hit it hard. 1) 10 unmodified pushups at the end of the 6 weeks. I can currently do 0. 2) Extend plank from 20 seconds to 60 seconds 3) I'm about 2 weeks out of a whole30. I did not reintroduce food slowly, so I'm going back strictly paleo for 2 weeks, then adding 1 type of food b ack at a time to see what's helping and what's hurting me. 4) Stop cursing so F*@^%&ing much!!!! One of my NY resolutions was to have 2 days a week (one has to be a work day) curse free. I've done nothing towards this, and I need to start. Just wanted my placeholder, I'll be back tonight to add point values and game plans. Excited to be back!
  3. Hugs. I have had crippling anxiety. Diet has helped me more than anything else, really. Cutting caffeine from sodas turned a huge corner for me. Cutting out all the other crap did wonders. I know it's not the same for everyone, just something to think about. I second the counselor idea. Can't hurt.
  4. I did one. It was fun. Just beware: Don't inhale the color powder! Pull up your shirt, or pull down your headband.
  5. I haven't been on here in a while. I'm up to about 40lbs of produce from my yard for the year! That's just what I've weighed, I know that the blueberries and herbs never make it to the scale. Last year I got 50lbs, so we're gonna beat that this year. I love growing my own food. It's fresh, it tastes better than anything you can buy, you can grow so many varieties that you won't ever find in a store. You can grow pineapples from the discarded top of an older one. I have 6 now, 1 or 2 are about 4-5 years old, so I should be getting my first pineapples this year or next!
  6. Great job! Jealous of your running time. I'm a slooooow runner, but I'm a beginner.
  7. Looks like you're doing an awesome job! Keep it up.
  8. Good job on your goals. My husband found a kitten last year. The ones that find you are the best, especially cats. If a cat wants to be with you, that's something special. Hope she sticks around and is a healthy girl.
  9. Wow, I suck at updating. I got all my workouts in last week, but then had a funeral, and I derailed. But, I did my stretches every day, and I did 3 bodyweight workouts this week, plus I ran today. AND......It is day 19 without a carbonated beverage of any kind. I am almost finished with the girl who played with fire, so I should be on track to finishing the series by the end of the challenge. My husband has been working evenings, so I've actually got some quiet time to myself now. I can think! I turned of the lights tonight, lit some candles and incense, turned on some relaxing music, and sat and attempted meditation for about 20 minutes while my chicken was in the oven. It was bliss. So, I'm not rocking this challenge like I should, but I'm not totally bombing it, either. Gonna try to keep updating. Now I have to go check all the other challenges!
  10. Great job! Hope you rock your first challenge!
  11. Did my 25 minute run today 2.15 miles. Slower than usual, but I had a week of no running since I was full of snot, so just glad to get back at it. Did 2 round of the BBWW before I felt like vomiting. I did my stretching today as well. Still no sodas, and I've been reading my book at night. Almost finished with the first book! I may have to find something else to do for my me time. I have decided that after I finish the c25k, I'm going to redo it, but with my vibrams. Probably start at the 5 minute runs or so, and see how well my calves handle it. That may also wait until after this 6 weeks, bc I want my legs to be able to function.
  12. Day 6, no soda! And I did my yoga and stretching last night.
  13. I missed the last challenge due to pinching a nerve, then getting the flu, essentially leaving me useless for about 3 weeks. Anyway, I did so well on my first challenge, I want to continue to kick ass on this one. I've rested, recovered, and I am ready. My Goals for the year: I want to do a 5k, and an obstacle 5k. I'm just about done with c25k, I ran 2.35 miles on Monday. Pull-ups. I can currently do zero. I want to be able to do 10 this year. The splits. Once upon a time I could do the splits. Now, not so much. Time to limber up! The year without soda? It sounds terrible, but I think it's time. Day 5! Also, I swear like a sailor. I'd like to lessen this. By the end of the year, I'd like to have 2-3 days a week that I don't feel the need to scream obscenities. I need to learn to relax, and not be so quick to anger. The yoga to get me to the splits will help, and I also plan to try to start meditating. CHALLENGE GOALS: 1. Limber up! Can't do the splits if you're not limber. I want to do yoga 2x per week, as well as stretch EVERY DAY for at least 10 minutes. Dex: +4 2. Strength. Gotta build up my strength to blast out those pull ups. I plan on doing the beginner body weight workout 3x per week Str: +4 Cha +1 3. No soda. I'm actually not as sad as I thought I'd be. And I've yet to get the headache of death, and it's day 5. I figure the first 6 weeks is going to be the hardest. I did so well on my first challenge when I cut out the processed food, but sodas crept right back in there. They're my weakness. My sugary, caffeine-filled weakness. CON: +3 4. Life goal: Me time I have zero me time. I do nothing that I want to do, I do what everyone wants me to do. I feel stretched for everything: time, sleep, thought. I'm going to finish reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series this 6 weeks. I'm almost finished with the first book, and it took me almost a month to get there. I'm going to give myself 20-30 minutes before bed to read. Yay me time! I do work out, but that's physical me time, I need mental me time. Wis: +3 I will also be finishing the c25k sometime during this challenge! I will be continuing my running 2-3 days a week. I'm not sure if I wanna do the bridge to 10k, we'll see how my legs feel with the added yoga and bbww routine. But I am definitely at the point that I enjoy the run days, which I never thought was possible. I missed 2 days this week due to a cold, but I'm ready to get back to it on Monday. I will be back to add my attribute points later, I just wanted to make sure I got my goals declared.
  14. Fantastic! Soda is so hard for me to give up. I'm trying this year, I'm on day 4. Hope I can woot about this next year.
  15. I have a few small raised beds, and some blueberry bushes in some half barrels. About 100' of garden space I believe.
