  1. I made it back from a 2 week business trip to Homer, Kenai, Anchorage and Talkeetna Alaska and only gained back 1lb! I consider that a major success.   4. FaceTime with the nephew went GREAT yesterday. It dissolved into a contest of who could make the best fart noises, which disgusted my sister. Victory! Victory is mine! Today will also be the fourth day in a row I've taken an hour long walk. That hasn't ever happened since, well, ever. ever ever. I also made paleo stir fry like Steve said, and it was yummy. I had it in my lunchbox to bring for lunch, then left it in the fridge. Oh well, it's dinner tonight then.
  5. Three days in a row of walking an hour, and Facetimed with Sean is in effect as of today! Weekly on Wednesdays...y'all want me on your team!
  6. OK, time to do this up right. My cherubic ass needs to lose... oh lawd jebus have mercy, if the government tables are to be believed at all, somewhere around 100lbs. So let's start somewhere. I had weight loss surgery (banding) three years ago. It did virtually nothing for me, and the doctors walked away after the insurance check cleared. After moping around for a couple years bemoaning my fate and 42" waistline, I'm ready to say - I go to you. I stick up for you. And you no help me now, I SAY FUCK YOU JOBU. I DO IT MYSELF. My humble goals: 1. Hour long walk while at home from between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, four days a week. STA+3 DEX+1 Criminy, I live right next to the Manassas Battlefield, one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's all set up for me. 2. Angry Birds Level One workout daily when traveling STR+3 I travel 50% for work, and never to the same place. I love my job, and I'm finding I actually eat better on the road than I do at home (WTF?), but routine is hard to find. This is my attempt to find it. 3. Make lunches while in the office and use awesome lunchbox I picked up on the road. CON+3 CHA+1 Seriously, you'd be jealous. It's a National Park Service throwback metal lunchbox. 4. Skype/Facetime with my niece and nephew once a week. WIS+3 CHA+1 I suppose I should tell my sister this... (he's four, she's about to turn one) Wish me luck, y'all! No, wait, wish that I don't need luck to rock this out like a hardcore mutha.

  8. First five lbs down since posting http://www.nerdfitness.com/community/showthread.php?17091-n00b-here-redefining-the-word-n00b-Srsly, or actually since a couple days after I posted. That's, like, a lot given the time, right? Finding that, for the first time EVAR, since I started doing this modified Paleo stuff (I still have dairy and wine, as I am not superhuman and if being healthy means no wine, I don't want to be healthy), I'm not perpetually hungry. I've always been perpetually hungry. I'm not now. It's wild. I have no concept. I WANT ALL TEH THINGS.

  11. Everyone else is focusing on the health stuff, but in addition to all that - how are you enjoying all that extra moolah you have now? It's pretty frickin sweet, isn't it? You should save what you'd be spending on smokes and take a great vacay in 2013.
  12. Totally agree. I am blessed to have a ginormous support system for anything I choose to do that doesn't involve copulating with a donkey. I just need to not be so afraid to use it here. The support group, not the donkey. You dirty people.
