Woohoo! Hit 205! I've officially lost half of my target weight loss! (Started at 235, wanna be 175) Stooooked!
-
I tell ya, with this recent challenge of mine, i've bit off a lot more than i can chew. In the 6 days since i 'quit' (read: put the patch on) I've had 3 smokes. One every 2 days aint bad. Today I've stepped it up (ok, borrowed the idea from SuperOstritch) - if I go this whole week without touching a cig, I get to have shwarma this weekend. (Of course, it'll be without the pita, or rice, but still, its a taste explosion) The running isnt getting easier. And the weight loss has slowed down (So I broke ketosis, and restarted it in hopes it will 'reset' the counter) :S
-
So I decided to 'one up' my own personal challenge, and just quit smoking altogether.

Walking. Elliptical trainer. Climb stairs. Pedal a stationary bike. Stick to a strict diet. (Oh and get well soon)

Current weight = 208lbs (goal - 200lbs) Current 'maximum running time before failure' = 4 minutes (goal - 10mins) Current Dumbbell Standing Shoulder Press weight = 30pounds (goal - 60)

Smoked less today than usual, thats a start right?

I eat pistachios. Or cheese. Basically any protein is all good pretty much anytime (especially after a workout). So far I've been going for Protein-based munchies (whenever I'm craving) and I've been losing weight steadily. So yeah, most nuts, skim-milk cheese, veggies (not carrots) but like, green peppers, celery with natural peanut butter, broccoli and the like, or even some deli-cut meats like turkey, chicken, etc (oh, and fat-free/sugar-free jello cups are total win) Just go for the stuff that has little to no sugar, little to no carbs, and is protein rich.

Nice set of goals! One thing you'll find is once you cut out the refined sugars, weight loss will start to kick in nicely.

We could, accountability is the best form for quitting. (And the fear of being shamed by others)

I prefer to cuddle the puppies Yeah, smoking + fitness forum = I'm the leper of the bunch in that regard.Good luck with the full-on quitting. It ain't easy. I quit for a year once, but rebounded (long story), and then quit again recently for 2 months and rebounded again (kind of for the same reason as the first time).. You'll get the hang of this whole 'healthy' thing, and being a non-smoker makes it about 1000 times easier. Feel free to turn to me when the non-smoking-crazyness kicks in. Its a heck of a hurdle, but it's good once you get past it.
