  1. WHOO hoo interwebz AND a new house! Has there been celebratory bacon yet?
  2. Next hair toucher better watch out - kitten's growing claws.
  3. Out on a date and now releasing the digits? Look at you! I did get to finally see the Sheen video, but you should go back and check out the Lindsay Lohan Eharmony Profile. Maybe you just didn't do your on-line profile right and this could give you some pointers. Or, more likely, you're not the spoiled, over-indulged psycho spawn of even more psycho pseudo-parents, but hey, I could be wrong. Great news on your friend. It's always cool when someone you like fixes a part of their life that makes them unhappy. Nice job on the WOD. And oh - I NEED that chocolate chili recipe (the mess hall here in Kuwait did have fresh halved avos on the salad bar Wednesday, and ooooo boy did I have me one).
  4. Wonder how the landmine squat would work with a dumb bell held goblet style? I'm seeing an experiment in my not so distant future. Difference in your pics is huge. I completely sympathize on the seemingly permanent gut issue. It's like our body's get hold of that fat and just won't let go. If you think that's about 30 pounds, you might try eating the number of calories it would take to maintain a 30 pound lighter weight than your present one, accounting for your very high activity level. Loss might not be fast, but it should start taking the wright off, with the added bennie of having you already used to how much you can eat and still be able to keep your new shape. Jealous of the dog walking - cant wait to see mine again.

50 burpees! I'm impressed! Go LoD, go LoD, it's your birthday... (okay not really, it's Sambie's b-day, but you know I mean) TLG- you do old chick burpees just like I do old dude burpees - as slowly, as creakily, and as gingerly as necessary.
  6. I know what you mean about the writing and analysis. Reading about a subject is the easy part - actually doing something with, te analysis an writing, is the hard part. But, you're sticking with it, and that's most of the fight right there.
  7. Little short on time, so a quick update. So, after sitting in the Bagram passenger terminal for about 36 hours, I made it out of Aghanistan around 2200 last night and am now in Kuwait. I'll be here until Saturday afternoonish, when we'll fly out to Fort Benning, Georgia so I can turn in my stuff. Today was the first time I got the bandages off my hand and knee. Hand looked a little gross, but it's gonna heal pretty quick as it's really just an abrasion. Knee may be a different story, but is going to be all right. I'm hoping the walking around here I'm having to do will help get it back into shape pretty quickly. I did re-bandage the cuts on the knee as they are more lacerations than abrasions, and need some more time. It's really too bad I lost that fight with the runway, as I could have gotten the entire week's worth of StrongLifts done between Bagram and here. Oh well. I did get my rifle and pistol turned in. I feel naked without them, but I'm finally beginning to stop panicking everytime I put my right hand on my hip and find nothing there. I also got to turn in the ceramic plates from my body armor (yep -ceramic. One reason the damned thing is so heavy), and then spent the rest of the day re-arranging my bags to make it quicker to turn everything else in at Benning. I realized how tired I was last night (really very early this morning) when I woke up really parched, picked up the bottle of water I left beside my bed, quenched my thirst, then nodded back off before I could recap the bottle or put it back on the floor. Hilarity ensued. Hopefully, there will be asolutely nothing of any interest to report from the rest of tonight.
  8. Can't get the Sheen video to load, but am looking forward to getting home to see it. And, you silliest of silly geese, do NOT get discouraged because your ass is too SMALL for the jeans! Just means you need tighter jeans. And for being supportive, spousal unit now gets out of the manatee mucus shower and gets away with a light whiff of sea cow flatulence, instead (okay, I lied. I mentioned manatees again. Manatee manatee manatee. I think my next challenge title may involve manatee in the name......)
  9. AWWWWWWWW, look at the BABY!!!! Can't remember - boy or girl? Whichever way I guess I'll miss it. Can't hear the words "Corpus Christie" without starting to hum the Robert Earl Keene song. Worse things to get stuck in your head, I guess.
  10. Meh, it happens. Just dont make a habit of it, and I know that you're not going to. Have fun on the date. We're all pulling for you. Power plants & manatees - just like Em said, the plants discharge warm water, and it keeps the area around the plants warm enough that manatees will hang out there in the winter instead of migrating south. One plant near Tampa even has a viewing station that's open in the winter. There's a pier that goes about a few hundred yards into the bay, and we've seen upwards of 20 in one day. You also see tarpon and some other stuff. If you look up Big Bend Manatee cam, you can actually control two cameras that look over the discharge area. Okay, last time I mention sea cows.
  11. Oooo, a playground! Cool! For running there in Hoth, I have a suspicion that in winter you're gonna need access to a treadmill, as you've already mentioned. Don't care for 'em myself, but they do seve a useful purpose when you can't run outside and I have been known to log a few miles on one.
  12. Ohhhh, yeah, these are gettin made and snarfed not long after the first beer (sorry to Cline and the other abstainers, but I've already gone more than 7 months without) Picture's worth a thousand words, soooo, easiest if you go toGoogle images and find a picture (tried to link it for you but it wouldn't work). They're really handy and can save a lot of time in the kitchen.

    erawka: focus.

I did figure that even though I can have cup as late as 9 pm and still to get to sleep by 10, I don't sleep nearly as well as when I cut off by 6, so I feel ya on the caffeine. Good luck - here to help however I can.
  14. Yayyyy! And, look at you, you're on a boat! You got your flippie floppies, you're on a boat! Enjoy the umbrella drinks!
  15. I'll have you know that when I do cross dress, it is Rebekka, never Becky.
  16. OOOOOO! A grenade squash! Sexxxxxxxy! Did you get the PDF for StrongLifts? I was looking for reviews of the program and found a post on MyFitnessPal that was a wonder of conciseness (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/560459-stronglifts-5x5-summary). The opening entry starts with the statement "Since trying to read that PDF report is like having your face shoved into a stranger's hairy, sweaty, muscular armpit I've sent several people a little write up..." and goes up hill from there. Most of the rest of the thread is effusive (and deserved) praise for the author, but there is an entry that goes over common mistakes in the lifts that is useful.Sorry for the threadjack. We now return to our regular program, "Spherical Squashes of South Africa, and the Bendy Women Who Grow Them," already in progress.
  17. Made it out of Jalalabad and am now at Bagram waiting on a flight to Kuwait. Unfortunately, the nicest thing any has said to me today is "well, it's not fractured." I stepped on a drop off this morning in J-bad crossing the runway to get to our flight, twisted the bejeebers out of my right ankle, and landed on my left knee. To make it worse, I was wearing my body armor so I went down with an extra 50 pounds or so. I've got a gash on my knee that they would've stitched up if it were anywhere else, and my knee feels like I slammed it straight into an asphalt runway. I don't think I'll be doing body weight exercises or lifting the next few days. But, on the positive side, I'm one step closer to home.
  18. All hail Sultan Squash! We want pics! And, if I know you, we'll get a squash themed music video, too. Don't think I ever told I downloaded that Hugo album with iguana video. You were right - good album.

AWESOME news on the BF! As for second graders, pushups and exercise as punishment, we give soldiers pushups for punishment all the time, yet they are one of them most exercisin' on their own bunches of folks on the planet, so I wonder if that rationale is really valid? And I'm not questioning you, as I know that's the policy. Just wondering how to figure out the rationale's validity.
  20. She's rewarding you for finding your ring. Hope the work stuff comes out okay - it'd suck to have you missing from the forum because work monster stole your life for a few months.
  21. I like this - Ima copy it into my "Sh#t I wanna remember" folder (tha's its real name).I don't think I know anything about this Eddie person. Sounds like I might not want to, either. But CAH - I am intrigued. And good luck on the meeting for the route. Little Hole in the Shire is getting closer...
  22. First Fran, now a fight that's gone bad. Your awesomeness rays are reaching all the way over here. All this talking about manatees, think I'll have to take the kayak to a power plant to visit some when I get home, NEXT WEEK!
  23. I miss hitting people, and you're having such fun doing it. Hope date night went well.
  24. How'd the jog of exploration go, Princess? Glad to hear you're getting to have BACON again!
