  1. Thought I'd pass on a blog entry about seeing Michael Chabon. Can't wait to hear what you think of his book; I really need to jump on that bandwagon.
  2. OMG I'm glad I wasn't drinking water when I read that. Thanks for the first laugh of the weekend!
  3. Great job! That's great about the knee push ups! Totally agree about working on adding the challenge of getting the form perfected (chest/nose to ground). Doing that will probably make the next jump that much easier to make.
  4. Muahaha... How'd the Century Push challenge go? Push ups?
  5. Great job! Ooo I'll have to check out The Lightning Thief (yes, saw the movie, and yes, enjoyed it - send the hate mail to Ms. Kiss My Grits )! I snagged the Hunt for Red October from the Y (they have a trade bookshelf) and was gonna read that for the time being. Don't matter today wasn't your best - you did better and you're moving forward! Just a little bit better each day and you'll get there.
  6. That's so great you have running buddies for the 5 am run! How's the Crossfit-at-home workout going? Looking forward to hearing more how it's going for you!
  7. Dude! Are you going to the place on Sacramento? I've heard great things about it! Way to push out of your comfort zone and go large! No fading into the background for you (and that's a good thing).
  8. Sounds like you're doing great! Way to go! About your calorie budget, have you done any reading about Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and used any tools to estimate what yours might be? It's not like you're gonna drop dead if you eat below how much your body needs to maintain functions, but it can be counterproductive since your body has to make up the difference if you're not eating enough.
  9. Those goals sound great! Have you seen the 100 push up plan? I think I've heard a couple of people mentioning a program to help them reach that goal (and yours is close!). No worries on the previous challenge. What counts is that you're here now and doing it!
  10. I loved the Hunger Game books: I'm so excited for you! That's awesome you beat your expectations on planking!
  11. Great job! Sounds like you're starting out strong, kicking butt, and taking names! Hope you're able to keep that cold at bay.
  12. Iblis

    1st challenge

It sounds you're not letting the Paypal situation get the best of you, which is great! Tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity to re-commit to what you felt like you slacked on today (although it doesn't sound like much!).
  13. Aw shucks, just happy to help out! I don't get the reference, but I'm guessing it's a win. This is great - you're already building up a structure of what works based on your new guidelines.
  14. What about a completely different topping than ketchup? If you're looking for sweet/tangy, what about a fruit salsa like with peaches (red onion, garlic, jalapeno, red bell peppers, lime juice, cilantro)? Or caramellized onions? Or a mushroom gravy (onions, mushrooms, flour, broth, parsley)?
