  1. Thanks for the response! It actually made me think a lot more about how I live my life, as crazy as that may sound. All the things you listed are things I quite regularly so they wouldn't be rewards for me (except the hot tub :)). If there is any entertainment that I want to watch or play or whatnot, I just do so. This makes me think that controlling my free time (trend towards productivity rather than leisure) is going to be one of my biggest hurdles. Plus, then I could use those as rewards! Bryan
  2. Hey everyone! I'm coming up with a reward structure for my goals and I'm hitting a wall. My first thoughts were exactly the kind of thing I don't want: bad food, day off exercise, etc... Now I can only think of big rewards instead of smaller ones for smaller goals. What are some examples of rewards you've given yourself for hitting goals?
  3. Thanks Tyson. My goal is the ambiguous "be healthy" but in the short term that means eating better (have been doing so for a month!), building muscle, and losing about 40 pounds (at 230, need to be 190).
  4. The beginner workout circuit. I think I'm not too fargone to where I can do three beginner circuits. I'm going to try to look for some martial arts classes to do on my off days, I think.
  5. I am about to go to bed after reading most of the resources on this web site and I now plan on starting in the morning. Wish me luck all, for I'm generally one to fight change. I started eating better about a month ago, now 40 pounds to go!
  6. I've read that what you eat after you finish working out matters a lot. Is this true? What is the best thing to eat afterwards? What resources do you guys use to determine this? Thanks for advance, and ... HEY ... first post!
