  1. Hell yeeeeeeeaaaahhh!! Good on you for dusting yourself off and getting "back on the horse". We will be waiting on the Phoenix to rise. It sounds like you managed to figure things out as to how you will go forth. That's great. Leave the past in the past and focus on where you want to go now. Keep us posted.
  2. Something feels amiss...

  3. Goodness, you sure do not let anything hold you back! 2730XP and Level 10 Spanish! IMPRESSED!
  4. I really love it too. They have an ingenious way of keeping your memory fresh. And there's no, premium membership or anything like that, you'll mostly see with other programs. It's completely free. The whole concept feels like a game. You keep on pushing for more points and rewards.
  5. Dust it off and share your credentials Quickly!
  6. Duolingo is working on a Klingon and Dothraki (Game of Thrones) modules. https://www.duolingo.com/course/tlh/en/Learn-Klingon-Online They're still hush-hush about the Dothraki, but here's the proof: Perhaps we can get some Rebels learning / teaching Japanese to help kick off the Japanese Incubation on Duolingo? http://incubator.duolingo.com/- (Help us build languages. The Incubator is where volunteers give life to new Duolingo courses.) If any of you want to connect on Duolingo and battle for the leaderboard, I would love to connect with you: https://www.duolingo.com/Chris2Brooks
  7. I am yet to connect with anyone on this thread. I still see the value in this thread, but I do have a proposal to make connecting easier with one another: Why not share your Duolingo links here and we can all connect with one another regardless of what language you're learning (Duolingo is language independent) We'll gain XP's for our various languages, level up and then motivate one another and have friendly competition for the top of the leaderboard. I know not everyone is on Duolingo, but for those who are, share your links and add one another: https://www.duolingo.com/Chris2Brooks CH3, perhaps add the links to the top our thread? What do you rebels think? Yay or nay? Have alternative idea?
  8. When it comes to Chicken I prefer grilled, and if not cooked properly chicken can dry out very easily which is terrible. Trust me. Here's a few recipes from Steve I'd have a look at: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2014/05/12/how-to-make-the-easiest-chicken-ever/ http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/02/21/a-decent-meal/ http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/04/08/how-to-cook-steves-go-to-healthy-meal/ http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2015/02/26/how-to-make-curry-stuffed-sweet-potatoes/
  9. Hi rebels, Anyone of you using Duolingo to learn a language? Want to connect with me? I am looking for a few active language learners to add to my leaderboard for a bit of motivation and friendly competition. I'm currently learning Spanish, but your language of choice doesn't matter as Duolingo works with XP. Fun tidbit about Duolingo: they're currently working on Klingon (Star Trek) as well as Dothraki (Game of Thrones) to add to the list of available languages. If you're on Duolingo, I'd appreciate a connect: https://www.duolingo.com/Chris2Brooks
  10. Great list and very well outlined and thought out. I'm also learning Spanish, have you checked out Duolingo?
  11. Aesome list! I love it, such great items on there, my epic-still-to-be-written list compare very much to yours. Good on you for saving the environment Okay, I'm curious... How? And why? Pretty much me and my list!
  12. Fish, it's expensive... But why?

  13. That's what I was worried about... Hopefully Atlas Wearables will solve most of that concern...
  14. Thanks for the feedback SpecialSundae and cyndidee. Appreciate your input. The Fitbit sound even more appealing to me now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. +1 from me! Would love that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hi all, I have for a very long time been interested in investing in a Fitbit. I am now ready to take the plunge and buy one. However, I would like to know how well it plays with bodyweight and weight training exercises, especially Nerd Fitness specific training? Is the stats accurate? How do you find the Fitbit app and other integrations? Would really appreciate some feedback.
  17. Nah I haven't. I'll go have a look and see.
  18. Hi Rebels, I know we've got this very awesome and very active forum, but I think it would be cool to have a dedicated #Slack channel as well for one to one group chats. Groups could be guild and interest oriented. What do you think? Yay? Nay?
  19. It's my first week on FitStar and must say I'm kinda loving the short intense workouts. Feeling the burn daily. I haven't used FitStar Yoga yet, but plan on doing so soon... Want to reach out and find other nerd FitStar users. What's your take on FitStar?
  20. Thanks so much for the share, I love sweet potato but never tried the fries-version. Definitely gonna go try this recipe when I get home
  21. Hahaha I used to do the same with Dutch for fun, to see all the similarities. You are 100% correct, padvark = road pig = some one driving like an idiot/ maniac. Most Afrikaans words can be directly translated and you could understand the word.
  22. Love your list of languages and your drive to learn them. One understands and have greater respect for a culture when one learns to communicate like them. Have you checked out this thread: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/53920-language-exchange-topic-find-a-buddy/ Best of luck with your epic quest. We're pretty close: I speak Afrikaans (considered the daughter of Dutch) and English I specialise in Digital Marketing, shout if you need any help, I don't mind giving advice/tips/pointers.
  23. Great thread idea. Chris2Brooks - Can help with: Afrikaans (Native)/ English (Native/ Fluent?) - Learning: Spanish (Newbie) Would love a Spanish pen pal. Planning on learning the other Romance languages once I conquered my dream of speaking Spanish. Contact me: PM/ EMAIL/ DUOLINGO: Chris2Brooks/ Twitter: Chris2Brooks
  24. Mind sharing a pic of your roller? It never even crossed my mind to make one myself. I am currently looking into getting my own. Right now using the gym's stock but would love to have my own for home use. Only discovered the foam roller about a month ago and it changed my life. Sore as hell, but afterwards I feel amazing. My legs hate it too. I can't bare the pain when doing ITB. Looks like some places discourage rolling the ITB...
  25. Hi Michaeliza Good on you for joining the Rebellion and introducing yourself. Welcome onboard the mothership, it's way better inside than the catalogues advertise. Love your ultimate goal and I take my hat off for anyone with the guts to take on the Spartan. Hopefully one day I'll have that same guts. Shout if you need any help or need to be guided to the right threads or forums for something. Also if you just need someone to push you forward when things get tough. Remember: The Rebellion doesn't care where you are (aka we don't judge) we care about where you are going (aka the best groupies you ever had) Keep levelling up
