  1. Yeah, sucks. No more for me. I'll be paying attention to my body and taking a deload when needed. Thanks. I think thatt's what I'm doing next time. 5 minutes spread out, so it's not too bad. Full paleo just doesn't work for me - Paleo has some great ideas and is definitely far better than most diets. But "Let's eat like cavemen. Here's some almond flour bread" fails to pass the BS test for me. Shorter planks, no more than 90 seconds usually. Funny. 5 minutes of plank fails to impress my wife. ---------- I will get a full recap up later and read through everyone's challenges. I know everyone did great this time! Quickly: LOSE! Last weigh-in was 224. Not quite at goal, but 15 lbs over 7 weeks isn't anything to be upset at. BEND! I touched my toes. 'Nuff said. MAINTAIN! Definitely an A here. CHILL! Going to have to compile my scores but a lot of improvement and I feel so much more relaxed. Now to transfer this to my wife. At least a B, if not an A.
  2. I appreciate all the help. Unfortunately, a hammock tent is completely out (for reasons already explained). I decided to get an inexpensive Texsport Saquaro Bivy Tent. It's thinner than I expected and Herc's claws may tear it, but then I'm only out $30.00. (http://www.amazon.com/Texsport-Saguaro-Bivy-Shelter-Tent/dp/B000IU11MS) It's only 4 pounds and big enough for two, if I can ever get the wife to go backpacking. I will probably bring along a tarp for the footprint, if I can find one light enough and a think yoga mat for the inside as well to protect from his feet. Looking forward to the trip.
  3. You just better be enjoying yourself.
  4. Agree with Cline - getting sick =/= off-track. I don't get people driving recklessly in residential areas. I am of the firm opinion this should be a capital offense.
  5. Still way behind on updating and reading everyone's thread. LOSE! Stalled. Still down over 10 lbs, but calorie counting went out the window this week. Hate, hate, hate counting calories (even though it does help). There's been a few times my intake was low enough to kill my energy level, so going to have to figure out a compromise on diet and working out. BEND! Yoga has become a habit, so this is good. I also broke down and ordered a foam roller. I'm going to try foam-rolling as a warm-up for weights and for the yoga. MAINTAIN! Everything's rolling along. Ending my 2nd cycle of Wendler, planning on skipping the deload this time. And I'm trying to decide whether to keep the 2-day schedule for Wendler or switch to a three-day schedule. I've also given myself a challenge - 100 push-ups, 100 squats, and 5 minutes of planks (any variation of these exercises) every day in February. CHILL! Yesterday wasn't good, but first slip-up in a while. Deep breaths.... KT, battling ropes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18YTU-2Oz50. Disclaimer - I'm using an old hose, sealed off and partially filled with water. It's not as thick and heavy, but it was free.
  6. Sorry I'm so far behind. Glad your wife's surgery went well, and sorry about the "Jimmie" moment.

    LoD

Congrats on the clean PR and especially on paying off the hospital bill!
  8. Have fun at rugby practice! ! Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  9. Looks like everyone is switching to standing desks. I keep going between that and one of those Gaiam ball chairs. Nice work this challenge. I've always thought playing hockey would be fun, but not much opportunity in south Texas.

    erawka: focus.

Losing trials sucks, but you can't win them all.
  11. Jumping in to catch up and already learning new stuff. Get-up sit-up: awesome, if my back can handle it. Give the turkish get-up a try; it's surprising how much of your body it works. Kettle plates: Had no idea that's what they were called. I need to get a couple of bigger plates, so might have to get 2 if they come in standard. Inchworms: love and hate these. Great work this challenge!
  12. Finally catching up on your thread. Re needing a man's protection: too funny. I envision a bar fight scene, where I can sit back and enjoy my beer while the ladies kick some a$$. I pity the poor guy who thinks any of you need his protection. Re finding someone on Facebook - message each other your profile link or your email. Re Crossfit - I really thought you were a crossfitter as well.
  13. So jealous of the swimming. No access to an indoor pool and a month or so before I dare jump in a spring-fed river.
  14. Catching up on your thread. You're really killing those WODs.
  15. Yes, I'm still around! Trying to get the house cleaned up some for the monster-in-law, as well as trying to refurb some of the computers in my garage (I do a sideline in this sometimes). Quick update: LOSE! Down to 228.2 last time I checked. I doubt I'll hit the 220 mark but at least I have a handle on this now. BEND! Going really well. I actually managed to touch my toes. MAINTAIN! Also going well. I think I'm going to skip deload week next week, as I don't think it really helped last time. Today's workouts: CHILL! Going well.
