  1. I have never done anything like this. I'm not competitive, I've never worried much about what I eat or my health. The last couple of years it's taken a toll on me, along with some personal family and health matters. I find myself out of shape, tired, unable to fit into my clothing, and most of all just not really happy within my own skin. So, I found this website, suggested by a friend of a friend of a friend. And here I am. Hopefully my husband will join me, but if not, I understand (we've had a LOT going on and he is exhausted!) Here are my goals. I hope I'm doing this right, please send any feedback you have my way if I can improve anything! *Walk 40 minutes everyday. This won't be extremely difficult as I'm starting back to school next week and campus is pretty big. Plus, I have a dog that needs to be walked morning and night. I actually do quite a bit of walking now, I want to focus on increasing the time (40 solid minutes at least) and do this everyday. I'm giving myself Saturday off, as that is our family fun day. *Cook/eat meals at home! I used to cook nightly, and pack lunches, but it's gotten away from me. In order to make this easier for me with my new schedule coming up, I've signed up for an emeal subscription. My husband and I decided the Paleo option is where we'd like to go with our eating habits, with a strong lean in the local/clean/fresh foods direction. We most likely will not cut out all sugar, but certainly processed foods. -also packing lunches and snacks, drinking water, tea or coffee (no soda!) -giving ourselves one lunch and one dinner a week out of the house. *No soda! -bring my water bottle everywhere -unsweet tea and coffee are the only other options! *Save $1000. -this will be easier to attain if I am not a) buying lunch/dinner out not buying soda! c) have nothing major coming up (hopefully!) to throw us off (no vacations/birthdays/holidays/Mayan Apocolypes') An added self challenge I'm going to do is a 365 (or rather 6 weeks!) self portrait. I am a hobbist photographer, and since things went haywire I've been off the horse. Time to get back up!
