  1. So this is my first challenge and I'm very excited about making some changes is my life! So here are my quests: Main Quest: Lose weight and fit into a size 16. Support Quests: Complete Camp Gladiator Go to Yoga once a week By the end of the 6 week challenge I will be eating out less than 6 times per week Life Quest: Spend at least 1 hour a week on crafts. Motivation: Win the biggest loser at work Live healthier to reduce risks for health problems
  2. Motivation : To be healthier mentally and physically so that I can more comfortably participate in life within my own skin. Main Quest: To lose ten pounds and get into my size 14. (currently size 16, burst out of the 14's a few months ago) Specific goals: 1. Attend the gym 3 days/week 2. No grains and healthy carb choices. 3. Drink at least one glass of water (tall) for each cup of coffee I have. Life Quests: To read one of the books that are staring at me that I just HAD to have --- and then never read. Okay So I am 41. Mother of five. Kids aged 25-5 (yep, second marriage kind of thing) I've always been overweight to some degree and my inability to control my carb binging triggers a sense of failure and depression. I didn't realize I was such a carb addict until one day, talking to my boss about how she was losing so much weight, I heard about this 'low carb lifestyle' --- well, like the day a smoker stares at his cigarettes and decides it's time, I knew it was time. I lost 50 lbs in 3 months and kept it off a few years until I had this last round of children. It has ALL fallen apart and not only have I gained weight (165lbs and only 5'1) but I feel very unhealthy. I know I can do it again, but this time the willpower has been more deeply hidden. I came to this site to give myself that kick in the butt I need and to get myself in a good frame of mind surrounded by others that care about their bodies and health also. So far, since coming to the site I have already been off the grains/bad carbs for a week and have lost five pounds. Now that that week has passed it is becoming second nature to me again, so hoping I don't slip. I have a membership to the gym and started attending but slacked. I am committing to min. 3 times/week. The water I started drinking again two days ago.. soooo I am ready for this. REALLY freaking ready for this. *cheers*
  3. So this is my first challenge, like most people on this board, and I’ve decided to set my first challenge as follows; Run 5k The reason I have opted for this is because I signed up to run the race for life in May this year. I really suck at running, like majorly suck. I’m hoping by using this as a challenge to work on I may be able to track my progress a bit better and work towards the quest in a more structured way. My three goals for this quest are; Do heavy cardio atleast3 times a week Do strength training at least 3 times a week Monitor diet for clean quality food intake. These seem like pretty basic goals, but as I have never done a challenge I wanted to set myself goals that would help me with my quest, but that weren't too specific. My life side quest for this challenge is to finish my nutrition course, I've been neglecting it for a little while due to other things happening in my life and need that little more pressure to get it finished.
  4. Havock's Quest for Destruction This year is all about moving forward, I'm looking out at the rest of my life and ready to embrace it while I destroy all of my old habits. Details: Name: Cyn Age: 34 Height: 5’4†Weight: 200lbs Main Goal: Level up in life and get fit, continue to lose inches and fit into a size 16 (in the brand I currently typically buy which is the fabulous styles of WalMart). This will be my first quest (I may have attempted and failed one about 2 years ago but since I know I didn’t finish I’m just going to start fresh). I’ve been kicking my butt since New Years as 2013 was a rough year and I decided 2014 would be amazing. I’ve already lost about 10lbs so the real goal is to keep that trend going and drop another size in the next 6 weeks. This is a new lifestyle not just a diet or program. I plan on making working out part of my daily routine because it releves my stress and makes me feel better. I’ve already seen the difference in how I handle things at work just since New Years. I do not want to go back, only forward. Mission: 1) Run/walk/elliptical 3.2 miles in 40 minutes I’ve been working on C25K since New Years but when I do try for 3.2 miles (5K) I come in at about 45 mins so I’d really like to get down to 40 minutes. I’m not going to restrict myself to the treadmill/track I’m going to include the elliptical as an option just in case. Goal is just to get out there and run and make steady gains in distance and/or time. 2) Drink alcohol only 1x per week (either Friday or Saturday) My first 6 weeks after New Years I managed this, but have fallen back to 2-3x per week, so for the next six weeks I want to get back to only once. 3) No Grains or Processed Food This is another goal to just continue what I’ve been doing and be as Paleo as I can be, but no grains no processed food at all. I’ve managed to already cut out soda since New Years, so this is one area I refuse to backslide in. 4) Do Yoga at least once a week I just completed a life quest to finally build up the courage to attend a yoga class at a local studio, and I fricken loved it. Now my goal is to keep going at least once a week. Life Quests: Work out With Friends Try working out with other people. I’ve been invited to go but am terrified for a variety of reasons, but I’d really like to do this. Grad School Also I am in classes for grad school and I need to maintain my grades/coursework. Motivation * Get even Stronger * Have more energy * More Balanced Move * Better role model for my children Note: I do have a before picture, I hope to be able to share it with an after pic in 6 weeks
  5. Right so, I generally prefer to read about adventures rather then go on them, but that's all about to change. I'm gonna go it! Slay that dragon! or keep it as a pet can't quite decide. Main quest: to fit back into those size 10 jeans, feeling embarrassed on summer holidays is a thing of the past. Goals: -Walk to and from town twice a week instead of getting the bus- there's some nice hills involved there -Me favourite pasties and cakes shop is only to be attended once a week - And finally... to do 5 minutes of yoga a day at the very least Life quest: to give £1 a day to my shark Erik money box so I can go on said holiday Hopefully as my first time this will go alright, my motivation usually sucks so fingers crossed those jeans on the back of the door will keep me going and good luck to everyone else
  6. Hi Everyone, I'm new to the Rebellion, but since I started weightlifting about 2 weeks ago, I think my timing might be perfect. I want to get stronger and achieve more balance. I have been a runner with little variety for a few years and it's time to mix it up. I'm bored, out of balance and not as strong as I'd like to be. So, in the next 6 weeks I want to get stronger by: - lifting 3X per week - Substituting some HIIT for my regular runs - Intermittent fasting (16 hours) at least 4X per week I also feel a kinship to the Druids...what do I do now?
  7. The quest of the werewolf, the Hunter in Darkness Ithaeur, Howls with Devotion. Time was, Howls with Devotion was pleased with his life. He was proud of himself, had a pack who loved him, and he ran with them every day. But... his pack and he had to be separated. Amid the change that came about his life, he had to find a new pack. He succeeded beyond his wildest dreams - but with the new pack, his new family, came a beast. A spirit of gluttony and sloth, that attached itself to him, known only as the Pink Dragon. Bit by bit, the dragon consumed his life. His magic, his time, his self esteem. He became as the pink dragon, his pack watching on in despair. But no longer. Now Howls with Devotion will fight back. His pack can only watch as he applies himself. He can ask them for support, and they will give it - but this is a journey he needs to make alone. My main quest: The pink dragon has hidden in the shadows for too long. It has sat there, embodying gluttony itself, and has consumed Howls with Devotion's life with it. His sacred place has been violated. He cannot, and will not let this stand any longer. He will defeat the pink dragon, and with it, regain his life. To reach 70 kg in weight. What must be done to exploit the dragon's weaknesses: Train. One cannot defeat the pink dragon by being weak. Play to one's strengths, and cover one's weaknesses - otherwise when it comes to face the dread horror, one will be defeated without even being able to lift a paw. Do the Beginner's Bodyweight Workout three times a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Research, summon and control the many powers of water. The pink dragon fears water, and Howls with Devotion has the upper hand - he loves water, and already understands the spirits that make it move to and fro. Go swimming at least 3 times over the course of 6 weeks, money permitting. Nip at the pink dragon's heels, worrying it down until it's time to defeat it forever. Let it never rest, let it always be watching behind it - we will be there to make sure it falls. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends, find an activity to do that is strenuous and gets my heart working. Life Quest: Time is a terrible thing to waste. This he ponders on as he trains, watching his pack run in the distance. So apart he feels from them, physically as well as mentally. As he works, he decides, he will be apart from them no longer. To visit Norway, some time within the next year. In order to connect more closely with his pack: He must finish his studies as an Itheaur, and apply his knowledge to the world around him. Do some homework every day, and complete my childcare course before the end of April. Should that successfully be completed, get a job nearby, and raise enough money for the trip. His mind is weak, he knows this. He must also fortify his mind, and allow his mind to open as the powers taken from him by the pink dragon return. Go to see my therapist as often as possible, and work on dealing with my anxiety and depression. Side Quests: He knows that his closest packmember, the Rahu Burning Blood, misses him sorely. He takes it upon himself to renew that connection. Spar with Keegan at least once. :3 I've been putting it off. That took a while but was enormously fun. <3 I intend to join the Druids the moment I can. Let me know what you all think! :3
  8. Hello all! This seems to be the place for first-timers, so here I am, ready to goal up! Considering that I cannot eat raw leafy greens, I have a hard time with getting my dark veggies in. So goal one is to have some sort of dark leafy veggie per day, even if it's just kale simmered in broth or something. Recipes more than welcome!! Goal two is also diet oriented. I am mostly paleo, but once a day I have a grain (either sourdough bread or barley), so I am going to cut out grains and see how I do. Despite my weight (115 at 5'2"), I still have a belly, which might be more insulin related than anything, which brings me to MORE PALEO, LESS SUGAR!!! Goal three is the exercise portion. I was never a fan of weightlifting, but I am going to give it another try. I find myself liking yoga more and more the more classes I take, so I will do yoga for stretching and bodyweight strength and use weights to go beyond that. So for the first 6-week challenge, I will commit to weight lifting 2x week and yoga 1x week. TL;DR: Goal 1: Leafy veggies once a day 7x/week: A 4x/week: B 1x/week: C None: FAIL Goal 2: Eat paleo and refined sugar free! 100-90%: A 90-80%: B 80-70%: C Less than 70%: FAIL Goal 3: Weights and yoga! Weights 2x/week and yoga 1x/week: A Weights and yoga 1x/week each: B Weights or yoga 1x/week: C Nothing: FAIL Aaand that's it! Again, feedback is very much welcome!
  9. That's my 1st challenge: just to get off the couch and exercise. I'm a big procrastinator and I always keep putting it off, so just making sure I'll actually get started with some kind of fitness routine might be a good first challenge for me. So... Main quest: Get off the couch and get into a fitness routine Goals: - hike at least 10km (6 miles) a week - do 1 yoga workout a week - complete the Leslie Sansone 'Walk Away the Pounds - 1 Mile' workout DVD 3 times a week Life quest: Study Swedish for at least 3 hours every week Motivation: I just want to have a healthy body again, fit and slender. I still have a long way to go, but so did Frodo and Sam, and they also made it in the end!
  10. Nice tah meet ya', Community Forum, Main Quest: Step into True Being. I am Princess-Assassin, I've suffered many wounds after winning a long treacherous battle with Deception. My new mission is to heal my spirit and restore my mojo. Mission: Practice Ashtanga Yoga Monday, Wednesday, Friday Mission: Swim 10 laps Tuesday and Thursday while envisioning surfing the waves and tasting salt in my mouth. I will increment the number of laps by 2 every week. Mission: Continue Paleo Diet, by planning meals, prepping vegetables, cooking meals, and grocery shopping Wednesdays and Sundays. Life Quest: Compile, and organize healthy recipes that I've used before. It's something simple but I have never aloud myself to really go all out with my creativity and type-A urges to organize. Not sure if its going to be a soft or hard copy, maybe both. Sincerely, Princess-Assassin
