beeb Beeb BEEB This is a placeholder. This is only a placeholder. Had this been an actual first post, challenge details would have appeared here. What, you might be asking, is a Positively Negative Butterfly? I'm working on an art project, it looks something like this right now and will probably take the next few weeks to finish, so I'll probably be posting lots of butterfly pictures. Last challenge I didn't give myself as much structure as I normally do, and felt that the challenge was weaker because of it. I struggle to follow structure and routine and normally fail to keep up with it, but having the framework to come back to after I slack off works better than not having the framework at all, and a lot of my good habits started falling by the wayside. It turns out that if I don't keep telling you people if I brush and floss every night, I start skipping brushing and flossing. Adulting is hard, hmmm kay? Section 1: Sleep My sleep routine/hygiene has fallen way off and I do so much better when I maintain it. 1. The phone and laptop seem to keep finding their way back into my bedroom. My brain tends to process "tired" as "time for YouTube spiral" so it is important to keep them out of there. 2. To help enforce that goal, they and the xbox need to be shut off by 7pm to give myself time to wind down from them. 3. Around 7:30, write in gratitude journal, then take my sleep meds. 4. Brush and floss 5. Evening Prayer 6. Asleep by 8:30, aiming to do this every night, not just work nights. Section 2: Eating My goals here are focused on mindful and Intuitive Eating; I can eat whatever I want, I just need to do it deliberately. 1. Mindful 2nd Breakfast 2. Mindful Elevenses 3. Mindful Dinner 4. Read Intuitive Eating Section 3: A Body in Motion 1. 10,000 Steps every day 2. Physical Therapy exercises at least 3 times each week, better daily. 3. Breath Hard Outside at least twice a week. Section 4: The Place Where You Live I am happier when things are clean and organized, but I suck at making and keeping things that way, but a little bit of consistent effort beats out marathon sessions, so let's do a bit each day. 1. Living room clean 2. Space improved 3. No dishes left behind Section 5: Art Brought Forth the Candle Light In this time of tribulation, it is important to create beauty wherever possible, so this goal is to do something artistic/creative every day. I've been doing extra painting recently, but my poor violin has been sorely neglected. The primary driving force for me picking it up is the knowledge that i'm going to be playing it infront of other people soon. That isn't going to happen for a while, but they only way to improve my skill is to keep picking it up so: 1. Play Violin x3 Just picking it up and playing a song I know and love counts, but more time is better. 2. Practice Violin x2 This is more intentional and working on something that is challenging. Extra practice covers play. 3. Paint: I want to keep doing this. I like that when I paint, there is something tangible to show that it happened. Ok, that looks like a whole lot of stuff, but I feel that it is manageable. Rather than having to repost that over and over, I'm going to use a spreadsheet to keep track. Thus, all of the above compresses into: Goal Monday Sleep Elect out of BR Electronics off by 7 Gratitude Brush / Floss Prayer Sleep Start by 8:30 Eat Mindful 2nd Breakfast Mindful Elevenses Mindful Dinner Read IE Book Move 10,000 Steps Physical Therapy x3 BHO x2 Clean Living room clean Space improved No dishes left Art Play Violin x3 Practice Violin x2 Paint Extras
