  1. This group is for Rangers who are trying to get in shape (or stay in shape) while being away from home. I always do my best when I am home and can get into a routine. Unfortunately (fortunately?), I will be travelling for almost all of this 6WC. Do you travel? Let's team up and provide encouragement to keep everyone motivated even when on the road. Instructions: 1) Add your name to the Roamin' Rangers roster. It can be found on the Rangers tab on this spreadsheet 2) Introduce yourself and link us to your 6 week challenge. Here is mine. 3) Subsrcibe to the other members' threads. 3) Work hard, work together, stay focused. See you on the road... Members wovercast direrael P.S. You are welcome to join even if you aren't travelling during this 6WC...

  3. WELCOME! My name is TerosX and I'm about to start my 4th 6-week challenge. All are welcome to join witht he RPG Fanatics. Last group went great and I made some friends. Quick about me: I'm in my late 20's and I'm trying to go to school to become a therapist. I've looking into teaching as well. I've always wanted to help people be the best person they can be. I've had serious buots of depression for my entire life and I'm very socially awkward, but I'm not letting these things hold me back. I'm part of an overweight family that uses food as a crutch for everything- whether it's celebration, mourning, stress, boredom... everyone in my family is overweight. I was up to 360 pounds at one point but during these past few challenges I've dropped a few pants sizes (unsure of the actual #). Share your thoughts, your goals, or ask any questions. I'm more than happy to answer. TerosX(ME!) 4. C25K - One Day At A Time (ODAAT) Hello All, Stryder here. I decided to start this group because I was reading through the challenges and there are a lot of people starting a C25K or already in the midst of one so I thought a place to get together and keep us motivated and informed would be a good thing. Also I need the socialization practice and I wasn't very active in my last group so I thought this would be a good kick start for me. So for your first post here is what I would like to see: What setup are you using to track your C25K? Have you already completed a couple since this challenge began post those in your first post. What is your schedule? If you are midway through you can post them all or just the ones you have completed since this challenge began I would also like for you to post either after you complete a day or once a week your times and if you missed any days. We cannot help hold you accountable if we don't know you need the help and motivation. So for those check-ins here is what I want to see: Distance Pace Per Mile Which Week and Day you are onPlease feel free to include more information, and tell us how things are going for you, how this day compared to the last one, if you got any extra miles in on your *rest* day and how that affected your workout etc. If you come across any useful information or links please post them.
  5. Nerdgasm FTW! I love all the little things that give me nerdgasms! This website and the 6 week challenge certainly do it. LETS GET IT!!!
  6. "Do or Do not. There is no try." Let us decisively support each other on their journey towards the Light Side. Here is my current challenge.
  7. Hello everyone! On the Accountabilibuddies spreadsheet, I've created the group 'Courage, Wisdom, and Power' which, for those of you who for whatever reason don't know, is based on the Triforce of 'The Legend of Zelda' fame. This is a group created to provide accountability, morale, advice, and comradery to anyone looking to step outside of their comfort zones and try new things, educate themselves on how to sustain healthy habits and lead a healthy lifestyle, and increase their over-all fitness. Whatever your personal and specific goals are, we will be here to support you 110%!!!
  8. Welcome Bad Wolves! I created this group for any adventurers looking to be encouraged and encourage. It doesn't hurt if you are a particular fan of Dr. Who and Rose Tyler but that is beside the point. I'm really excited to be participating in my first challenge and love seeing and being encouraged by everyone else's progress! Good luck to all!!
  9. Hello Fellow Soundtrekkers! Thank you for joining the group. I look forward to the mutual support we will offer each other over the next 6 weeks (and beyond). So I came up with the term Soundtrek and the myriad of variations when I was at Coachella for my first time 7 years ago. I was watching Imogen Heap perform "Hide and Seek" and I felt the awesome feeling you get when you really connect to a song...a feeling that I have felt many times when the right song plays. It was like I was at the right place, the right time, with the right music playing - it felt like a soundtrack to my life, like everything connecting and my life moving forward....so after some creative thinking in the after glow of the moment, I coined the term. As for how it fits in with helping us achieve our goals, I have feel a very similar feeling when I am working out the right song. If you check out my day 1 progress Challenge 1, I posted Gossip's "Move in the Right Direction", which for me is such and inspirational song for working out - a Soundtrek moment. With everyone's support and our music, I know we can rock this challenge and achieve our goals! So please sound off with any suggestions, music recommendations, achievements, questions, etc. Thanks for tuning in, Odin8 And for the moment that started it all - not my video, I was off somewhere to the left lost in the moment...
  10. I'm getting a late start to this particular challenge, but I was very excited to see an accountibilibuddies group focused on backpacking. However, that particular Adventurer group is full (and then some) so I thought I'd try starting a new one in the Rangers section. My ultimate fitness goal, as you can see from my sig, is to backpack the Washington state section of the PCT next year (August 2014). I backpacked for years and loved it when I was younger, but haven't been out for about 30 years now. I wanted a long-term fitness goal exciting enough to motivate me, and it's been working really well! Last week I went hiking near Mt. Baker by the Nooksack River for the first time in years with my daughter and 3-year-old grandson (who loves to hike!). It was spectacularly beautiful and wonderful to be out on a trail again! I've been here in NF for awhile (this is my 7th challenge), and joined the Rangers for the first time in the last challenge. My favorite strength workouts involve kettlebells, and I'm studying Kelly Starrett's (K-Starr's) book Becoming a Supple Leopard for help to work on flexibility and join mobility issues (especially tight shoulders). I'm also hoping his approach to functional movement training will help me avoid long-distance walking injuries (shin splints, plantar fascitis, etc.) as I begin building up my daily mileage. Are you in?
  11. I'm definitely new to this Accountibilibuddy concept (been MIA for a few challenges), but I was amazed no one else had already started a Browncoats group. So, any (cross-guild) Whedonites out there?
