  1. Since last challenge went a bit haywire, this time I'm keeping it simple, getting back to basics and being awesome in manageable ways. There will be silks. There will be early mornings. There will be pain. There will be gifs. Let's do it! Main Quest: Lose 3kg this challenge Goal 1: Get to the gym and do weights programme and run (30 minutes) 4 times per week. Record activity to get a base line and work from there Goal 2: Eat 1250-1500 cals per day and record on MyFitnessPal Goal 3: Stretch post workout or do yoga, so there is stretching or yoga each day Life Goal: Keep working on the garden every day and of course, keeping silking! I am going to be away for the first few days of the challenge, so for them I will just try to focus on keeping the eating good, and getting into a routine when I get back and back to work (cry cry cry). At least I have the challenge to look forward to. It's gonna be good
  2. You want me to do what, now? Last challenge, I essentially committed to doing the student showcase at my circus studio. It's Oct. 11 (one day before my birthday). I need to have a silks routine sorted out and ready to perform by then. Eek! Fortunately, I have chosen a song (Hallelujah, by Jeff Buckley) and I've trimmed my audio file to 5 mins. That's a start, right? This challenge I want to get at least 3 mins of choreography sorted out. Ideally, I'd get it all planned then have next challenge to just practice and polish, but since I've never choreographed anything before, I'll be a little lenient with myself. Worst case, I can chop a verse out of the audio file and shorten the performance. I may have to do this anyway, since I'm not sure I can handle 5 mins in the air at one time right now. Super Bonus: figure out costume, hair and makeup THE song, for any who may not know it. Beautiful Ascent (thanks, Hatter) Last challenge I worked on inverts and hollow body holds. This time around, it's climbs. Particularly Svetlana which is sloppy on the right and abhorrent on the left. My coach keeps telling me the secret is to lean back more and for some reason I have a mental block about it. Time to get over that. I'll also work on cleaning up my other climbs--maintaining good form, not kicking the silks, etc. In other words, make the skill/trick pretty rather than just heaving through it to get it done. Super Bonus: before/after videos of Svetlana on both sides. Super Super Bonus: Swimmer's climb. Ick. Happy Hands, Part 2This was an excellent addition to my routine last challenge, so I'll keep it up. 3 x week for hand/finger rehab/prehab. Your Friendly Neighborhood Assassin I'm quite chatty in my own thread, but feel like I read-but-don't-post quite a bit in other people's threads. Goal for this challenge is to post something useful in at least one other person's thread 7x/week. Here's to being less of a lurker and more of an active supporter.

Main Quest: Reclaim my 'fighting' body (by opening day of KCRF 2014 - 30 August 2014)Lose 25 poundsFit back into my size 2 clothesMake it through a full 30 minute fight show (Bawdily Harm), in a bodice/corset, without nearly passing out or even being windedGoals: Get 8 hours of sleep every night Exercise (pilates or cardio) for at least 1 hour, 5 out of 7 days each week Go to Aerial Silks class or go rock climbing once a week Life Quest: Start being on time, if not early, everywhere I am supposed to be. Motivation: I have been generally unhappy for well over a year; gained 30 pounds in about a year-and-a-half, tired all the time, moody, muscles are stiff, and knees hurt. It wasn't always like this; I wasn't always like this. I want to - and am going to - reclaim my health, fitness, body, a sunnier, more optimistic personality.Basically, I want to be this chick again.
  4. Welcome... to my humble abode for the next 6 weeks. Go ahead, take your shoes off, I promise I cleaned the place this week... I think... maybe... you'll be safe at least, I'm sure. Main Quest: Become totally bad ass of course by dropping 10 lbs a/o a pant size during this challenge, and ultimately about 5 pant sizes and 100lbs This challenge I will be focusing on: Goal 1: Operation Apple a Day... in which our heroine eats better to keep the doctors away... (+3con,+2sta) The goal is to eat Paleo for every meal excluding dinner (again I still do not control dinner) and the parts of the weekend I am at my parents (since I don't control that food either). I may not be the strictest paleo eater (mmm cheese) but, sticking with it as I have been has definitely shown to be highly beneficial... and highly tasty. This also helps me get my love of cooking and experimenting with cooking back in shape too, so... you know... two birds... stone... yeah... honestly it's probably 3 birds, cuz you know, apple a day keeps the doctor away, I can only imagine what spinach and steak can do xD Goal 2: Operation Suck it Magneto In which our heroine gets stronger, and more flexible for her upcoming foray into aerial silks (+3str,+dex) So by the time my birthday rolls around (In early September if you were wondering *wink* jk) I want to start Aerial Silks, but in my current condition I think it may be a feat just to hold on to the silk let alone try and do anything. So! I am going to work on full body strength training, but with some focus on those chest and shoulder and back muscles.... since I've never had much by them. I will do this by doing 3 bodyweight workouts a week, and cool-down with a flexibility stretching routine to get my bendy back. Goal 3: Operation Your Princess Is In Other Castles In which our heroine moves her clan to a place of their own (+2con,+1wis) So, I've been living with my fiance and his grandmother, and our almost two year old son, for almost 3 years now... it's ridiculous, and was only supposed to be a temporary stop. I've finally gathered enough money to feel safe moving, so that is what we're trying to do... This will ultimately help all my goals, considering I'll be able to eat full paleo if I so decide, I'll control the meals, I'll have space to keep all my groceries, and will not have to hear complaining over everything I make, I will have more time in the day (since we're looking closer to where I work, so instead of an hour drive i'll have like... 10 minutes) and generally will feel like a weight has been lifted, and thus will feel more apt to DO stuff... so yeah... totally going to either move out into our place by the end of this challenge, or at least have the move in date and such firmly cemented. Life Quest: Operation Psychic Paper In which our heroine learns new languages! (+2wis) Continue Korean Lessons 3 times a week with Talk to Me In Korean, and practice phrases daily, even though no one else I know knows Korean, let alone could correct me if I was wrong, though I may soon sign up for HaruKorean once I actually start writing/typing in Korean... still have to learn the alphabet to do so lol. Motivation: This is the easiest part: My son is a HUGE motivation, I want to keep up with his always moving little butt, also my fiance, one by keeping me to my goals, but also because I want to look amazing for him, regardless of the fact he always thinks I'm amazing, I have to feel it too! So lastly of course, I do this for myself, I want to look in the mirror and not hate what I have done to myself, I want to be proud and content and happy to see myself naked xDD I'm very selfish in that I kinda wanna turn heads, and draw whistles, and let them know they can't have this! xDD (Is that silly?) so... yeah, that's gonna be me for this 6 weeks... being new, I can use all the encouragement, guidance and general, "get your butt back in gear girlie"s that you can give.
