  1. Happy New Year friends I'm back in another attempt to challenge it up, keep writing, and build the hype for my epic challenge come up at the beginning of March based of BioWare's upcoming gamed, Anthem. I'm really excited for it and the stuff I have planned for story wise is gonna be fun to include you all in! As we get closer to that, I'll let y'all know about character sign-ups for anyone interested in joining in on the fun . (@WhiteGhost I got you and Aloysius included already ) Now, onto the challenge. I need to make this as basic (b**ch) as possible. I have this tendency to complicate the crap out of things just to get a little praise on wow factor. Then, in the end, I try and do to much then end up doing hardly anything at all. I like being lazy, I'm not gonna lie. But, I hate it too. I have to make small changes that will lead to bigger ones and eventually establish consistency. That's all I want. After I get into some sort of healthy flow of working out, eating good, drinking lots of water, sleeping longer. It's really simple but I don't always make it that way. As an aspiring Freelancer Pilot, I need to be ready for anything and everything. Sound of body and mind. I left the last challenge off with Chapters 1 & 2 of "Always Two Steps Ahead": Chapter 1: The Meeting Chapter 2: The Unwelcome Guest I'm working on Chapter 3 and have a little over a page written right now. I'm hoping to post that sometime next week . The goal is to get to Chapter 5 by the end of this challenge. I need to set up some story plots before everyone else comes in and I would LOVE to be around Chapter 9-10 by the time the epic challenge starts, but, of course, RL will be there waiting for me. I need to be ok with wherever I am come that time, but I'm shooting for 9-10 chapters. I also need to get off my lazy bum and get back to wolflean status. I will revisit "The Gauntlet" in the story from the previous challenge. I didn't really train for it properly and still want to complete it, so I'm hoping to do that sometime during this challenge. Also, I've been SUPER busy with my discord. William recently received honors as an EA Game Changer, which allows him some really neat perks I can't really talk about, but, his YT channel has grown to 6.2k subscribers...and 2 weeks ago I think he was at 4k. Not only that, the discord grew from roughly 650 members to 1100 since Wednesday!! Right?! It's been crazy! Plus, the weekend of the 17th-20th I'll be in San Antonio with Willaim and KT (the other Mod) for PAX South. AAAAAnnnnnddd BioWare announced they would be there for Anthem. . Will's recording some video while we're down there so I'll post tha tfor everyone's viewing pleasure lol. Busy, busy . Heather, the boys and our growing baby are all doing great! Heather will be 21-weeks on Monday! I'll have to update you guys on what her app tells us the baby's size is being compared too. I have a lot on my plate, but with well thought out planning and KNOWING chaos can strike at any minute...I think I'm in a good spot to succeed . Challenge Goals! Goal 1: Path of the Scribe Get to chapter Chapter 5 of "Always Two Steps Ahead" +3 CHA. +2 WIS Goal 2: Path of the Freelancer Focus on body weight (BW) and progressive calisthenics (PC) 3-4x a week +3 STR, +2 DEX Goal 3: Path of Valor 100+ oz of water a day Average 7 hours of sleep a week Use Overcoming Poor Posture book to mobilize daily Make time to read to the baby; 1 hr a week (minimum)- A combination of I Declare War by Levi Lusko and The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis +4 CON, +1 CHA That's about as basic (b**ch) as I can get it and I'm gonna rock this first challenge of 2019. Thanks for coming along for the ride everyone! I hope you continue to enjoy the story and I pray everyone is doing awesome ! #StrongAloneStrongerTogether Wolf
  2. As we enter the world of Anthem, we discover the story of a young Freelancer named Colwyn Plaigue and how he becomes one of the most deadly Interceptor pilots to fly the skies of Mirrus. In part one, we will see Colwyn undertake his first true test as a Freelancer and get a little taste of the action ahead. Profile: Colwyn Plaigue was not born into a family of Freelancers. In fact, he would go on to become the first Lancer of any sort within his families lineage. His Father was an Arcanist, as well as his mother and younger brother. To Colwyn, the ways of the Arcanist always bore him. He sought out more in life. Not just cheap thrills and the adrenaline spike of flying a javelin, but, Colwyn wanted to make a difference in protecting his home, Fort Tarsis. He could of been a Sentinel, the law enforcement within the confines of the Fort, but that just seemed boring too. No, it was the dangers that wait beyond the walls that called Colwyn's name. The giant beasts that threatened him and the people of Fort Tarsis. The Dominion and their army. The Scars. All of them. Having spent some time piloting the Ranger javelin as a rookie Freelancer requirement, Colwyn is finally able to branch off and fly the other three available exosuits. He has his sights set on only one javelin-the Interceptor. As the smallest and sleekest of all the javelins, the Interceptor is favored by Corvus' long range scouts, infiltrators and assassins. While it may not be the mightiest of the javelins, it more than makes up for it with unmatched agility and evasion. In order to obtain this javelin, Colwyn will need to pass the infamous Corvus test, called The Gauntlet...something that only has a 3% pass rate. There are three parts to the test: a physical exam, a mental fortitude exam, and a written test. In order to gain Corvus' favor and pilot the Interceptor, Colwyn will need to pass all three components. This challenge is about how he does so. **I will be RP'ing Colwyn throughout the entirety of the challenge/story.** Stats: Age: 28 Height: 6'2 Weight: 188# Hair Color: Copper Eye Color: Blue Goal #1: The Gauntlet Physical Exam What exactly is the physical portion of this test? It's a grueling test to push you to your physical limits. 2 min push-ups (min 55) Max pull-ups (min 7) Max planks (min 90 seconds) Max Burpees in 2 min (min 55) Max KB front squat w/ 2x 53# KB's (min 12) Max rack pull at 225# (min 10) 1 mile run time (Sub 10 min) 1 mile ruck with 25# (Sub 15:30 min) I have 5-weeks to train for this and pass. Chances are, I'll split this workout up into 2 different ones, like the cardio ones, on a separate day. Time to get to work! Possible Points: +3 STR, +2 DEX. +1 STA Goal #2: The Gauntlet Mental Fortitude Exam What exactly is the mental fortitude portion of this test? It's split into 4-parts testing ones strength of mind through torturous means. Waterboarding (1x 5-min cold shower a week) Starvation (1x 24-hour fast at least twice this challenge) Isolation (4 total hours doing Devotionals and scripture memorization-1 hour a week) Delirium (Average 7+ hours of sleep for the duration of the challenge) These goals will be playing the long game during the challenge and require me to buckle down on my discipline. Time to get to work! Possible Points: +3 CON, +2 WIS Goal #3: The Gauntlet Written Exam What exactly is the written portion of the this test? This part will test ones creative, interpretive and problem solving capacity. Essay (Spend 1 hour a week to writing) Multiple Choice (Post 4x short excerpts over the course of the challenge-one excerpt each week) I'm gonna figure out this writing thing! I want to be consistently writing so that way when my BIG challenge happens at the end of February, I'll already be in a flow. Time to get to work! Possible Points: +3 CHA, +1 WIS I want to end 2018 on a good note with good habits, discipline, and consistency. I'm turning my obsession with Anthem into something constructive and I'm SO SO SO excited about the upcoming epic challenge once the game releases. I hope you all journey with me and enjoy the ride !! Wolf
  3. Hi All! I'm gonna try and get things rolling again...because I've been out of it for a while it seems. I haven't been working out consistently. I haven't been eating clean or drinking enough water. And I've just been struck with a general cloud of laziness with a mixture of undisciplined motivation. But, that's just on the fitness side of my life. Other than that, I've been really busy. I mentioned briefly before about my involvement with a discord community called Your Anthem. It's ran by a good buddy of mine, William, and since discovering his YouTube channel covering content for Anthem over the summer, I've been heavily involved with the growth of the community. So much so, that I became the servers first moderator. It's a great community that reminds me a lot of NF, just more chat room structured than forum. Work has been busy too. I now have MORE responsibility because I took over another process on top of my other daily tasks and we recently moved back to the building I used to be in, so, I have the esteemed pleasure of walking 6 flights of stairs multiple times a day! I really missed the stairs when we moved the last time-it's a great little form of cardio. Aaannnnnddd...Heather is 9-weeks pregnant!! Yep, you read that right! The only downside is that she is severely nauseous. This puts a bigger strain on me because she's basically bed ridden most of the day and the cooking/cleaning also falls on my shoulders. We are keeping the pregnancy "hush hush" for the time being. We've made a lot of announcements the last year and don't want to make any more sad ones if we don't have too. We're just going to take this new pregnancy one day at a time. So, in a nut shell, that's whats been going on with me. Busy but still needing accountability from my NF fam. I'm going themeless for this challenge except for anything Anthem related. I'm SOOOOOO excited about the release of this game. I've never been obsessed with a game like I am with Anthem. If you were around for Watch Dogs 2 and thought that was bad, then you haven't seen NOTHIN' yet, lol. Goal 1: Consistency Get back to strength training 3x a week: 1 lower body, 1 upper body and 1 full body day. Nothing fancy just good ole fashion strength basics. Possible Points: +4 STR Goal 2: Hot Sauce Metcons are like hot sauce-a little goes a long way! Perform 2x metcons a week. Preferably after your workout. This can range from a kettlebell complex to sprints. Spend 10-20 min spiking the heart rate and activating the sweat glands. Possible Points: +2 DEX, +2 END Goal 3: The Fat Freelancer Fact #1: A fat Freelancer pilot can't fly. Whereas I've never been fat...I am losing my leanness and getting into more "dad bod" shape than "wolflean" shape. I'm up over 200# now and my abs are almost non existent. Time to focus on my diet and getting in plenty of H20. Possible Points: +4 CON Goal 4: Spead the Grabbit Love What is a grabbit? This "little" creature is a grabbit. Our Anthem discord started a community wide event that involves two warring factions: The PETG aka People for the Ethical Treatment of Grabbits lead my none other than muah. And the TRA aka The Tarsis Rifle Association. The PETG are out to defend the grabbits from extermination and the TRA is out to destroy them. It started out as an inside joke within the community and then William decided to turn it into a full-blown community wide event involving all the Anthem content creators out there and take to Twitter for a mud-slinging good time. I got tasked to run the PETG twitter handle with a good buddy of mine and so far, it's been a funtastic time! We even have Anthem's devs and designers involved in on the fun! It's cool because I'm getting to use all the skills I've learned from my years on NF, and that's knowing a good gif game goes a LOOOONG way :D. The goal is to see who has the most followers by the end of the month long challenge as well as who talked the best trash. Winner gets some professional artwork drawn for them. Like I've said, I'm having a blast with this! If you guys would like to support my side of the war (and ALL grabbits alike), then please go to @AnthemPetg on Twitter and follow me :). Like and retweet posts if you're feeling froggy ;). Possible Points: +3 CHA OK, so, there you have it folks. Short. Sweet. And too the point. I apologize for not being around as much and I'll do my best to keep up with other threads moving forward. I've missed you all! P.S. And @Raxie and @darkfoxx I'm sorry about our scheduled call the other day. I was having major phone issues. I hope we can try that again soon?! Wolf
