Hello. I have reached a point in my fitness journey where I don't know what to do. I have always been very slender (5'8", 115lbs) I have started my weight gain journey consuming weight gain shakes both Optimum Nutrition Mass and sometimes Boost Plus and eating a moderate protein based diet. I do weight training (occasionally) and natural cardio (walking, cycling and stairs) I have noticed some weight gain as I am now fluctuating around 120lbs. Problem I am having is that some of the weight went to my belly and waist. I'm sure it has alot to do with the sugar content in the shakes. I don't want to have to lose body weight just to get a flat stomach as I am already too slender (bmi 17.48) Are there any tips to get a flat stomach while gaining body weight? I'd like more weight everywhere but not my stomach. I've added a few photos for reference. Some days are worst than others. I honestly feel like the photos don't do my belly fat any justice. It's (sorry for clarity)

I know that you can't lose belly fat by doing ab workouts. I also know that if you work out a muscle it will help shed fat around it. How come these two facts can't coexist, or I've been told

Hello friends! I've found nerdfitness.com around January and eversince started with the beginner workout. I started at 52kg (1.53m) and I was losing weight and gaining muscle at a very good rate. But right at the beginning of March due to some personal issues I stopped going to the gym and eating not so properly. I gained back the fat I lost but the muscle is still there, especially in my legs and my arms. Now I feel better and I started going to the gym again and I realised that the beginner workout is not as hard as it was and I'd like an upgrade. Also I noticed that during the time I was losing fat, my belly didn't seem to have gotten the message could I add any specific exercises to help me with my abs? Thank you for your help ^-^

Hi, I increased my calories intake and gained 4 pounds in the last month. I am following a strength training program. However, it seems that I am getting thicker around the belly, and as I am skinny, it will look really bad if I keep gaining belly fat. How do I bulk up without gaining belly fat?

This challenge is going to be different from my other ones, because I've noticed that I have focused so much on physical goals that I neglected mental and spiritual. As a result I'm at a plateau with my workouts due to my mind putting up a wall I don't want to cross. It's my own personal goal to become the first female Marine sniper, and it won't happen if I make it a habit of giving in to all the negative voices in my head. Achieving the Focus and Iron Will of Batman Goal 1: CrossFit, H.I.I.T., or Weight Lifting 4x a week: As much as I am focusing on losing weight I cannot afford to neglect my strength. (Str. +3) A+: 100% Completed with no misses. A: 95% One or two missed. B: 85% Only one workout a week. F: 80% I need a good ass kicker pronto! Goal 2: Meditate three times a day everyday: Meditating or praying will help me to train my mind to focus. Which I really need in order to get over the "wall". (Wis. +3, Char. +2) A+: Not a meditation missed. A: One or two missed. B: A whole day and not a single OHM F: I suck at this. Goal 3: Study for the ASVAB every other day: I am not where I want to be in Math or the other subjects, I refuse to go into the Marines as a dunce! (Con. +3) A+: Significantly increase my former ASVAB score from 53. A: Only a slight increase. B: No change whatsoever. F: Anyone got a DUNCE cap? Goal 4: Run and/or sprint everyday: This won't be ironclad, if I need to rest I'll take a day off so I won't risk getting shin splints. (Sta. +3) A+: No excuses, no problems, just running! A: Miss one day. B: Two days missed in a row F: It had better have been raining all 6 weeks! Life Goal: Decrease down to a size 12: This is achievable, all I have to do is get rid of my butt gut, that's the only thing preventing me from fitting in smaller jeans. (Char. +2) A+: I'm built like a diva, and I wear a size 12! A: Can button and zip up. B: Well I can get them on at least... F: Wanna see me attempt the 23 clowns in a small car trick with these pants? I'm hoping to finish this challenge with all my goals at A+. Then I would be two steps closer to being the correct weight to sign up for the Marines, plus fitting into smaller stuff will give me a good excuse to get some new clothes! As far as my diet, I am actually doing very well, my sister has been helping me and keeping me accountable about what I eat. Plus, my stomach has now shrunk to the point where two pieces of pizza is to much. And I now hate the feeling of being to heavy after a meal, making most of what I eat at this moment light and healthy. All of this is not just for the Marines right now, I have a Super Spartan race to prepare for! Semper Fi

Okay, I'm not a total noob to weight loss or exercise. HOWEVER, I simply cannot figure out how to get rid of this stupid glob of crap that is hanging around my navel. There is a physical substance that is impeding my stretching when I sit on the floor with my legs straight out in front of me and I stretch to touch my toes. Full disclosure: I am 46 years old, 208lbs and recently went on a fast that took my weight from 213 to 193. While on the fast I lost four inches on my waist. I've come back to almost the original weight when I started the fast (47 days of nothing but rice and beans) but it is about 75% muscle weight so my waist is still around a two inch loss. The PROBLEM: I still have this crap around my belly which did NOT go away during the fast and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. I am open to all suggestions both the obscure and the absurd. Thanks.

Hello, So here is the deal. I am in need of some ideas for a miracle "Lose that stubborn belly fat!" workout. I have a few extra pounds around the midsection that if I can just cut away, I think I will be where I want to be. I know that my request is pretty unrealistic, and if I just keep going with the stuff I have been doing, things will work out for me. BUT I"M SOOO IMPATIENT!! If anyone has some tips or pointers on melting the last few pounds, I would really love it. If not, i understand. Comments and Come to Jesus talks are welcome too.
