  1. The following images are taken from Keri Smith's book How to Be an Explorer of the World: For this mini-challenge you will find a place to explore, any place you want, choose at least one of the above each week, record what you discover, and share it here with us. Be creative, mindful, and best of all have fun. I look forward to seeing what you share!
  2. Good morning, So purely out of curiosity, how many people here are novel writers? I am currently working on a Fantasy fiction and as part of my epic challenges, I want to finish draft 1 of my book by the end of 2016.
  3. Hi, Where can I find the REBEL GUIDE ebooks and the LEVEL UP YOUR LIFE book? I saw a link for the book on the top right of the home page but I'm assuming there is a central hub to purchase the resources. Also I remember being on a page where Steve had a list of books that he recommended but I can't figure how to get back there. I can find all of these things by searching on google, however I'm a little frustrated it's so hard to find just by navigating the website. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards, Atreyu
  4. Hello, Steve Kamb and Nerd Fitness staff. I recently finished reading Level Up Your Life and I love it. I've already started a very long epic quest. I live in Japan where many people like me are badly in need of self help. So why not let me translate it into Japanese for you? Thank you very much for your time. Sincerely, Jahan Zoltan Honma A.K.A. 5. Hey rebels! I have a question for you. I'm currently writing an ebook with the name "Cavemen in College". Basically, it will be a guide to all students at university on how to remain Paleo. This includes: - The basics of Paleo, what it is and why people do it - My story, how and why I became Paleo and how this book was established - How to make Paleo cheaper than a "normal" college diet - How to combine studying with an active lifestyle (sports etc, inherently a part of Paleo imo) - Tips for going out, social events,... - Meal planning and templates - Tips & Tricks (for example: Handy kitchen appliances,..) - A big collection of recipes divided in the categories: 1. Spice mixes and dressings 2. 5-minute hearty meals 3. paleo comfort foods 4. make-in-advance meals 5. packed lunches 6. sweet treats Of course, things may still change My question is now: Do you see this as a good initiative? Something that was missing? Would you consider purchasing it? Any feedback is moooore than appreciated! Have a good one rebels, rock on
  6. Here's how it is: The Earth got used up, so we moved out and terraformed a whole new galaxy of Earths. Some rich and flush with the new technologies, some not so much. The Central Planets, thems formed the Alliance, waged war to bring everyone under their rule; a few idiots tried to fight it, among them myself. I'm Malcolm Reynolds, captain of Serenity. She's a transport ship; Firefly class. Got a good crew: fighters, pilot, mechanic. We even picked up a preacher for some reason, and a bona fide companion. There's a doctor, too, took his genius sister outta some Alliance camp, so they're keepin' a low profile. You understand. You got a job, we can do it, don't much care what it is. Right. Dunno iff'n y'all noticed, but a couple of the GLs had the idea that we should do a Firefly-themed challenge. And by had the idea, I mean that we laughed and thought and laughed, and now we're doing it. Here's how this is gonna work. The Challenge goes like normally does, but we're gonna but a slight twist on it. You have a background theme to use if you want to. You can base it on a character, on an episode, on a planet, on the setting itself, whatever. It just has to tie back to Firefly somehow. There is no limit on how many people can share a character or an episode or what have you. If anything, it'd actually be fascinating to see lots of different riffs on a theme. If you're having some trouble figuring it out, I've thrown in a Character Quiz to give you some starting points. So, there you have it, guys. Have fun! (NOTE: Just so we're clear: you don't have to do this if you don't want to. We just thought it'd be fun to shake things up a little bit and play around some. But believe me, I know better than anyone: martial arts is srs bzns).
  7. It's great to learn! I'm looking for a weight training book (or books) to expand my knowledge base of anatomy and lifting. I love sciencey stuff, so anatomy and molecular processes are very important to me. Sure, I want to know more about different exercises and technique, but most of all I want to know how the body works (in a training sense) and why to do certain things. If at all possible, I'd like to avoid books that shove low-fat BS down your throat. That theory has been weighed, measured, and left wanting. I'm Paleo-Ketogenic because of the mountains of evidence from the scientific community, as well as my own personal research and success. Suggestions?
  8. So I mentioned that I was writing an awesome story in my status the other day and several people asked to read it when it was finished. Unfortunately, I cannot remember who they are and I can't figure out how to search my old statuses to find them. So, here's hoping those lovely people check the Book Club! Here is a link to the Kindle version of my collection of short stories Good Bye: A Triptych of Gentle Gloom. Download, read, enjoy, share! And mods, please correct me if this is the wrong place to put this, I'm mostly concerned with making sure that whoever those lovely people who commented on my status were, they get their story fix.
