  1. This discrete and select social club serves to not only promote illumination with regard to the eclectic, obscure and esoteric but also endeavors to promote the development of physical skills required of adventurers. We have skill development workshops that range from true torch making (in case one find themselves in a cave) to LandNav (for Orienteering events) to grappling hook use. Think Teddy Roosevelt meets Edward Gorey meets Indiana Jones meets Sherlock Holmes meet Amelia Earhart. Feel free to respond if interested. J.P. Jason Keith Secretary Arkham Community College ~ Expe
  2. Hey all, I've signed up for the Spartan Sprint at Fenway Park in Boston on 11/13 but none of my friends who said they were going to signed up ended up signing up for the team so I'd like to open this up to other rebels who might be interested. Link to the race: http://www.spartan.com/en/race/detail/1641/overview I've signed up for the morning run on 11/13 and created a team. Here's the team information: Team Name: Scuderia 603 Password: bmrs2016 I'd love to get a group together for this event so I don't have to do it by myself. W
  3. For those that thought I might have been derezzed, I've pulled myself up out of the depths and am training for Boston again! I missed the secondary cutoff last year by twelve seconds, which was a kick in the teeth, but have been putting in the miles and dropping weight, so I feel like I'm on the right path again. Yes! Goal #1 Continue to put the miles in. I'm on week 6 of this plan and so far it hasn't beat me up too badly. The last ten weeks before the Lehigh marathon on 9/11/16 will look like this. This is a new approach for me with splitting my miles up between
  4. Hey Nerds. I posted about this in the Big Ass Boston Thread, but thought I'd make a new one. I'll be in the area Oct 8-13 and would love to see/meet some nerds. So, uh, let's maybe try to plan something. It's been a really long time since I've been up there so help me with ideas for hangouts. I'll be staying in NH, but driving to the Boston area is not a problem.
  5. Hey dudes. Coming in last minute because I struggled to think up a goal since I'm kind of over the last one. Then I remembered that I publicly declared the following goal at Boston Social Athletes last week (I approved that photo, and it looked way better when it was tiny on the camera display). Complete the 2015 BAA Distance Medley The BAA (Boston Athletic Association) Distance Medley is the 5K, 10K, and half marathon that they do throughout the year, only you get an extra medal and commit to it all at once. The 5K is in April, the 10K is in June, and the half is in October. How I'm get
  6. Battlescars: Exodus This is it! I move across the country during this challenge. I’m pumped for the new adventure, but also terrified to give up the comfort and security that I’ve established here. It’ll be exciting, ridiculous, and probably frustrating as hell. But honestly, I’m too pumped to care. Los Angeles, I’m coming for ya. Brace yourself. Goals: 1. Post (at minimum) three times a week. (+3 WIS) This is a huge problem for me. I’m so bad at posting and keeping track of what I’m doing. I feel like posting more will give me an extra boost with the rest of my goals a
  7. In conjunction with the GoRuck Challenge that many Nerd Fitness members will be participating in or spectating on May 23, I'll be hosting a cookout on Sunday, May 25th at my house in Somerville. The cookout is open to any and all NF members, friends, significant others, beers, and pets. We'll probably have two grills going and a wide array of grilled meats, veggies, veg-based salads, grain-based salads, and a stupid number of desserts, I'm sure. I'm hoping for nice weather so that this will mostly be an outdoor event, as we have a yard and a hot tub out there. Details: Who~ NFers and belo
  8. Hiya, all. I thought I'd reintroduce myself again. I was here for one challenge in the fall that I ended up doing really good with. Got a late start on the following challenge and didn't follow through. Once that happened I lost my steam and disappeared until now. I have plenty of excuses as to why, but it really doesn't matter. I stopped making my health a priority and as a result I don't feel as good as I did. I'm not coming back in full until it comes time for the next challenge. But I'm will be working on myself until then. And even though I have completed a challenge, I'll be joining th
  9. Fellow rebels! Next month I'll be in NYC for a weekend and then in Boston for a few days after that... this will be my fifth visit to NYC and I've lived for a couple of months in Boston, so I can skip stuff like the Empire State and the Old North Church, but I still want to be a tourist I like museums, the weirder the better, and most outdoorsy things (weather dependent). (I'm already lining up my NYC tradition - trapeze lesson at TSNY) So I'd love to know - where do you bring your friends in NYC and Boston? What's your favourite thing to do there? All suggestions welcome!
  10. Is anyone signed up for the BAA Halfie in October? In a couple weeks I'd love some buds for the long runs :-) I'm actually near Jamaica Pond and parts of the actual route, so it'd be cool to meet up and train!

No experience required. Here is a copy paste of all the data from the facebook created event. Message me for further info.
