  1. BRAVE This is my keyword for 2015. I happened to watch Divergent on New Year's Eve and picked up some inspiration from it on how to be BRAVE in the coming year. And I'm reading the book right now, my first book of 2015. The components of my keyword are Bold Bibliophile (read/write/try to get published), Romantic Renovator (cleaning and redecoration my home so dates can come over, and also, dating), Action Adventurer (zip-lining, rock-climbing, traveling, fun stuff), Victorious Volunteer (giving more of my time and talents to others, especially in my church), Energetic Enthusiast (losing weight, getting fit, and having fun doing it). Working my way through all of that can be considered my Main Quest for the new year. There are some specific goals in each category I've laid out for myself, not necessarily going to share all of those with the group, just the ones that apply here. For this first challenge, I'm starting from scratch. I've ditched the attribute points because I'm not a gamer and they haven't done much to inspire me. But there is a points system for initiates to Dauntless so I'm going to try and incorporate that into my goals for this challenge. However, it's late and I need to get to bed, so goals will appear tomorrow.
  2. First time participating in a challenge and I’m ready to get started! Like many people, my main goal is to lose weight, more specifically fit into a size 12 by the end of this or the next 6 week challenge. But more important than my goal, is why I am doing this. I am changing my life for my niece. Anyone who knows me, knows how important my nieces and nephew are to me. When my niece, Sophia, was diagnosed with Leukemia in the fall, her life, and my life, changed. Seeing her face terrifying obstacles with more bravery than a 5 year-old should possess, is why I am doing this for her. She is my inspiration. She is my hope. She is my strength. I want to be Sophia Strong. I am doing this for Sophia, The Brave. Here are my goals for this 6 week challenge. Reduce sugar intake over the next 6 weeks. Initially cut out desserts, then move on to limiting fruit intake. Eat 80% Paleo on the weekends (including Friday). All other days of the week are mostly out of my control, but the weekends I can actually cook for myself. Start with bodyweight workout and move to weightlifting. Establish a bodyweight workout routine until gym membership begins, then start weight lifting three days a week. Side Quest: Read one book a week. I need to stop adding/buying books I want to read and start checking them off the list! I’m looking forward to these next six weeks, not only for myself, but for my niece. Here’s to big improvements for both of us!
