  1. Greetings fellow ranger rebels! This is my first 6 week challenge and I've been told to make a post. Here it goes. I won't take up too much of your time, but suffice it to say that my goal in life is to become the female Bear Grylls (minus the whole bug-eating thing. Gross.). It might take a while, but I'm up for the challenge. To do this, I need to work on my overall fitness, but then again, who doesn't need to do that? I've been keeping a fitness journal since for 5 months now, so I know that I've already come a long way since January. However, this is just the beginning. My real fitness journey is just starting. For this six week challenge, I will try to work on two things: my running endurance and my strength. Here are my SMART fitness goals: Run a 5k without stopping (I know, so original, but I've got to start somewhere). Lose 1" around hips and waist. Do 20 consecutive push-ups. And for my SMART life goal: Finalize my grad school top 10 list. Where am I now? I can probably run 2k and can do 12 consecutive push ups. My grad school list currently has 15 schools on it plus about a dozen more that I still need to research. As for the measurements, I will post them tomorrow along with starting pictures. To accomplish my goals, I will: Run twice a week. Do body weight workouts 2-3x a week. Have one bonus workout per week (options include playing frisbee, going for a bike ride, swimming, dragon taming, etc.) Rest one day a week (probably Sunday) I'm already eating mostly paleo, so I'm not too concerned with diet. I'll just need to watch my fruit and sweet potato intake. Well folks, that's all I have for now. Until then, good luck to you and I'll be there to cheer you on!
