  1. Become the Wolf Here we go again (Again again again). Last time I attempted this I tried my hand at Keto and although it worked really well in the beginning it wasn't for me. Near the end I was mentally exhausted, bitter, frustrated and found myself cheating and eating worse than I did while off the diet. Which of course brought on the feelings of guilt and failure. So here I am again, ready to push forward and become the wolf. Fierce, wild and determined. Let's see how far I get this time. The plan - Drink at least 2L of water daily - Meal plan ahead of time - Snacks in moderation - Move a bit more Goals -5lbs by Nov 19 -10lbs by Dec 24 -15lbs by Jan 28 -20lbs by Mar 04 Stats to date Height: 5'10" Weight: 256lbs Est. BF%: 45.3 Measurements Neck: Bust: Bicep: Forearm: Wrist: Waist: Hips: Thigh: Calf:
  2. This challenge, I'm going with a theme, because everyone likes a theme. I've always loved mythology and especially that of the Greeks and Romans. So, I present, Alice.x trains with the Gods (part 1). Zeus: As well as being chief god, and a bit of a sleaze, Zeus' official title is god of the skies. So, if I want to train with Zeus, I need to be able to keep up with him. My asthma is getting steadily better (and hopefully I'll have a doctors appointment before/at the beginning of this challenge), but my fitness really needs work. So for this challenge, I'm going to work on my cardio. Currently, when I workout, I do 5 minutes on the spin bike and then my strength workout. But I'm going to start by adding 5 minutes of cardio - on the cross-trainer - as an extra warmup. Every two weeks, I'll add another 5 minutes, until I'm doing 15 minutes on the cross-trainer every workout. I workout about 4 times a week, so I should be feeling much fitter by the end of this challenge! Grading and Points: A - 8x5min, 8x10min, 8x15min (4 STA) B - 3 or fewer sessions missed (3 STA) C - 4-8 sessions missed (1 STA) F - more than 8 sessions missed (0 STA) Poseidon: Poseidon is the god of the seas. But, he also created horses. So I'm going to be training with Poseidon on horseback! I've recently backed a pony, and we've just started trotting in the arena. We have had a few setbacks (namely, him throwing me off and breaking my nose the first time I rode him), and due to this I'm still a bit nervous about dismounting so can only ride if there's someone around to help me. But it's light in the evenings now, so I should be able to ride him most days with Maisie's help. I need to start schooling him now, and so the aim for this challenge is to get him to the point where we could ride a simple walk and trot test. These have circles in trot, and stretching down in walk, so these are the two things I'll be working on the most. Grading and Points: This is a difficult challenge to grade, so at the end of the 6 weeks I shall see how far we've come and grade accordingly. Available are 2 STR points and 2 STA points (technically these should be for the pony, as he's the one getting stronger and fitter, but I'll take them on his behalf ). Demeter: As she is the goddess of agriculture, training with Demeter has to start in the kitchen. I'm generally very good about what I eat, but recently I've been letting cheat meals stretch into cheat days, and those days into long weekends. But that needs to stop. For the 6 weeks of this challenge, I will be staying away from the 4 C's; Chocolate, Cheese, Crisps and ice-Cream. These four are my go-to snacks - I don't eat them often but when I do, I eat a lot. The only exception to this goal is if I go out to eat, but it doesn't happen very often! I'm also allowed to eat cheese as part of a meal, but I can't add it to everything, or eat it by itself! Grading and Points: A - No cheating! (4 CON) B - 3 or fewer snack-cheats (2 CON) F - more than 3 snack-cheats (0 CON) Hera: As well as being Zeus' long-suffering wife, Hera is the goddess of motherhood and family. My mum and I are both avid readers, and she is always giving me piles of books to read after she's finished with them. I always intend to read them but don't often get around to doing it (because I have so many books, see my last challenge). For this challenge, my aim is two-fold. Not only will I be able to discuss the books with my mum, allowing us to spend time together which we don't often do, but I will also be getting rid of some books (as long as I don't buy any more, it's a sickness). In the 6 weeks, I want to read three of the books my mum has leant me, and then talk about them afterwards with her. Grading and Points: A - 3 books read (2 CHA, 1 WIS) B - 2 books read (1 CHA, 1 WIS) C - 1 book read (1 CHA, 0 WIS) F - 0 books read (0 CHA, 0 WIS) Good luck everyone! Week 1 - A grades for every goal! Week 2 - currently on track for B, N/A, B, B. Need to start working a bit harder!
  3. I believe in naming my challenges! It feels like a chapter in a book, making it seem much more significant to the book that is my life 1. Improve my leg strength on a horse (riding and weight training) 2. Learn how to mediate and center 3. Give up all soda 4. Balance my finances better What does that break down to? BUILD: (STR, DEX) Increase leg strength while riding -Ride at least 4 times a week. Finishing each session up to eventually go without a bridle on my horse, steering and balancing with leg strength alone. RENEW: (STA) Learn Meditation -Spend at least ten minutes a day learning and practicing meditation. ELIMINATE: (CON) Remove all carbonated beverages from diet -Quit soda cold turkey. No exceptions. Not even mixed with alcohol. Nope. Nada. Zilch! DISCOVER: (WIS) Improve Financial steering -Taking a class on budgeting at the end of the week. Look ahead at least two weeks and plan out finances! Think I can do it? My goal is to combine my love of archery with riding, like a Katniss Everdeen on a horse.. but centered and calm, like a true elf. And of course resourceful in the midst of limited resources - like any good Ranger should be!
