  2. Greetings rebels, Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more. It's time to imitate the action of the tiger by getting lean and preparing mind and body for any eventuality. I've been happy with my, slow but steady, progress during my last couple challenges so I'm going to stick with the routine. MAIN QUEST: Lose fat & build muscle Lift heavy things three times a week +2 STR, +1 DEXHigh Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) three times a week +2 STA, +1 DEXConsume quality calories at a 500 calorie daily deficit +3 CHALIFE QUEST: Pay down debt by an extra $500 over the regular payments +3 WIS SIDE QUEST: Increase my pull ups +3 CON
  3. Greetings Rangers, For the past two challenges I’ve been hanging out with the Adventurers and after much soul searching I received an epiphany that I should become a Ranger. I am a being of eclectic interests with a deep desire to excel in as much as possible. Learn it and move on might be my motto but I don’t want to limit myself. I like the new way of organizing our goals, it works well with my ENTJ personality. Since there was no mention of changing the awarding of attribute points, I really dislike having my cheese moved, I will proceed as usual. MAIN QUEST: Lose fat and a pant size Lift heavy things three times a weekHigh Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) three times a weekConsume quality calories at a 500 calorie daily deficit LIFE QUEST: Pay down debt by an extra $500 over the regular payments SIDE QUEST: 10 pull ups, starting at 3. 4. Greetings Rebels, I have decided I need to be able to do some pull-ups and everyone knows that misery loves company. Why do I need to be able to do pull ups? Just in case something goes horribly wrong. I started this challenge during the last 6 week challenge and didn't come close to my goal of 20 honest pull ups. THE RULES: Introduce yourself and tell everyone how many honest pull ups you can do today.Train, train, train. There is lots of advice out there on how to get into shape for this. Find the one that fits you best. Might I suggest you start your search here NerdFitness. Keep us updated on your progress and setbacks. Ask questions. Provide encouragement to others. I'd like to see a post at least once a week. At the end of the 6 week challenge post your improvement. Last challenge my final post pretty much said..started with 3 honest pull ups finished with 4, but it's a real good looking pull up. For those of us in real-life role playing reward yourself with +1 to Str, Con, and Cha, just for making the honest effort. After all we'll be stronger, have greater endurance, and look better. For most improved female & male add an extra +1 Str, Con, and Cha. [edited by Nuala: sorry, no stat points can be given for PVP!] Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqXwBMdiGU-ndHlRcTZZc0lWZFd2TjNveTgtMTFVVkE#gid=0 [edited by Nuala: added a link to the spreadsheet!] Anybody else interested? My name is Greylox and today I can do 4 honest pull ups. I really hope to see a couple friends from the last challenge.
  5. Greetings, This is my second 6 week challenge and I'm really looking forward to it. Last challenge I was trying to do it all, build muscle, lose weight, and increase stamina. Of course I was disappointed with my results. This challenge I am focusing on reducing body fat through diet and exercise Scoring: A - 100%, B - 75%, C - 50%, D - 25%, F - 0% Goal 1: Lose the fat. Going to keep the calories under 1800 per day. I found a website called Sparkpeople that will help with tracking calories. I hope that by carefully monitoring my intake for the next 6 weeks I'll develop better eating habits. Attribute points earned: +4 Cha, Successful completion of this goal will be measured by moving from the obese range of body fat to the acceptable range of body fat based on the "take a look" method, I'm a cheap bast thrifty individual and am trying to reduce expenses. My ultimate goal is 14-17% or fitness range. Can that be accomplished in 6 weeks when I'm starting at 30% or obese range? I doubt it. Goal 2: Gym. M, W, F, Pump the iron, working on core and upper body. A specific goal is to be able to deadlift 200 lbs. for 3 sets of 5, I did 160 lbs. for 3 sets of 5 last Friday so this should be doable. On T, R, do at least 45 minutes of interval training before going to work. Attribute points earned: +2 Sta, +2 Str, +1 Dex, measured by pushing it a little further each day. I’ll know when I'm slacking. Goal 3: Sleep. Make sure I get between 7.5 and 8.5 hours of sleep every night and keep a regular bedtime ± 1 hour. Attribute points earned: +3 Cons, measured by time from lights out to alarm on. Noteworthy - While I was in the US Army I had a roommate that was so fast that at night he could turn off the lights, get across the room, and in his bed before the room got dark. True story ; ) Goal 4: Debt. Go credit card free and get the balance on my credit card down $300 more than the regular auto payments. Can I actually go back to an all cash lifestyle? Attribute points earned: +3 Wis, measured by current balance – auto payments - $300.
