  1. It's time to start the music! It's time to light the lights! It's time to get things started! Why don't we get things started?!(and talk in ALL THE EXCLAMATION POINTS!) So, it's true, the Koo is borked! My eating has been borked, my exercise has been borked! Many of you know I have attempted to master the pull up many times, but every time I do, my back gets borked. After much thinking I've come to the conclusion that I need to approach this in a different way. I suspect the back pain is being caused by weakness in other places (probably mainly my core). I think I have been doing too many endurance type activities and not enough strength building. Time to get un-borked! The Quest: Perform one unassisted pull up by the end of 2013 The Motivation: I want to show my daughter (and sons!) that girls can do anything! The Goals: 1. Un-bork the Fuel - My body will not do this without proper fuel. If I put too much junk into it, this just won't work. Time to get back to eating well the majority of the time. During the challenge, I will eat whole30 style paleo at least 5 days per week. That doesn't mean I can go crazy on the other 2 days, but I can at least have a small treat or a drink once in a while. Exception: We are going on a weekend trip to Minneapolis for our anniversary in late August. During that time, I can relax and enjoy myself. 2. Un-bork the muscles - Things just aren't as strong as they used to be, so 2 of my workouts per week will be a strength based. I will be sure to include some exercises to work my core/back such as back extensions and planks. I will also throw in some pull up prep type exercises such as bent over dumbell rows and trying out the assisted pull up machine. 3. Un-Bork more of the muscles - I will continue to aim for at least one Yoga class per week. This will help with maintaining strength, balance and flexibility of the muscles I am rebuilding. Side Quest: My phone is NOT borked! I must call my Mother at least once per week. I keep letting life get in the way and that is borked. She is important to me and she will not be here forever. MAKE THE TIME.(P.S. I totally had this phone when I was a kid) ***Will be edited to add motivation picture***
