  1. I want to be a master Assassin! I don't necessarily want to bulk up and gain muscles, nor do I really mind how much I can lift (at the moment) what I am aiming for is weight loss and general flexibility and fitness. I want to slim down and be able to go for a run or a cycle and not feel like my insides are burning about half way through - I think the main reason I want this is confidence. I want to feel happy is how I look and how I feel. I want to get fitter and healthier for no one but myself and this site has been nothing but amazing since I joined. So my nerdy friends, what should I do? At the moment I'm at a gym and focus mainly on cardio, running for 20 minutes on a treadmill (alternating between fast walking and jogging), using the Cross Trainers and using the bikes. Afterwards I try to do core workouts like sit ups and... crunches? (I'm so unsure of what some things are called!) Is this enough to start with? I go to the gym 2/3 times a week for around an hour and a half. I'd really love it if someone could help be build a plan - I do love lists!
  2. Introduction: My name is Emily and I am a 21 year old university student. This is my first challenge and I’m excited! I spent a lot of time as a teenager being self conscious about my body (although I wasn’t that overweight) but it’s stuck with me, even though I’ve arguably gotten in much better shape/shaped out since. I joined the rebellion because I finally found a fitness path that I enjoy and I want to make a permanent change in my lifestyle. Main Quest: Do 50 pushups in a row, do 1 unassisted chin-up, and run 5k in a row Quest 1: Do at least 30 pushups every day (10x3), as well as test how many I can do in a row every day (currently up to 20-25). When I can do 30-35 pushups, change to 40 pushups every day (10x4). A: Complete pushups 7 days a week B: Complete pushups 5 days a week C: Complete pushups 3 days a week Quest 2: Use the chin-up assist machine every time I go to the gym and do 3 sets of my minimum weight each time. Continue to decrease weight as necessary until I can do them unassisted. A: Go to the gym 3 days a week B: Go to the gym 2 days a week C: Go to the gym 1 day a week Quest 3: Run/walk 5k at least twice a week. Even if I have to walk part of it, I’ll be able to run a little farther each time until I can run the whole way through. I just want to boost my cardio a bit. A: Run twice a week B: Run once a week C: Use the elliptical for 20 minutes instead Life Quest: Spend less time on Reddit and more time doing my university readings. I’ll start reading Brave New World and 1984 on my phone ebook reader so I won’t open my Reddit app. Will update post if any additional books are read (or if I decide to actually read my textbooks instead). Motivation: I want to be a supergirl! I want to be ridiculously strong and make my boyfriend proud of my strength. I want to look more toned and fit rather than flabby. I also want to spend more of my time being a productive person rather than a person who procrastinates. I just want to be more proud of myself and heal the relationship between me and the body I’ve spent too much energy being self conscious about. If anyone wants to make excessive Game of Thrones references at me or discuss GoT conspiracy theories, feel free My boyfriend is sick of hearing it, haha
  3. I'm starting over and sticking to it. I began it once ago but never finished the challenge. This time it's different. This beautiful Saturday morning, I woke up and just began my warm up and my work out. Turns out I am way out of shape (I don't remember needing such a long break between reps) and I don't like it. I don't feel happy with myself and I hate how I seem to ignore the situation and just give in to my wants instead of giving myself the much needed restrictions. I don't care so much about my weight. From what I've gathered from all the information on this site, weight isn't the tell-all of your health rating. With that in mind, I want to lose my love handles and strengthen my core so that I can finally walk with my head up high. Main Quest: I want to lose 3 inches off of my waist and 1 inch from my arms. Goals: 1. Take a daily walk around my neighborhood with my beloved boys or do the NerdFitness beginner's workout every other day (15 minutes) 2. no food after 8 pm. 3. Snack on Fruit instead of processed junk (yum yum oranges!) I started a little late but I woke up this morning with determination. I don't want to wait til Monday to begin this new way of life. I don't want to wait til next month to begin my health kick. I don't want to wait til I absolutely hate my image before I decide to take drastic measures. I want to change now and be happy now. I feel much better as it is after writing this down and working out a bit.
  4. I am 25 and 180 pounds give or take. I just recently found out I am pregnant but I am more motivated than ever to lose weight. I used to do PT in high school and I'm quite the walker but I have never been the epitome of "fit". I have always been chubby and gained a lot of weight with my first born. I lost most of that "baby fat" but fell in love all over again and gained most of it back. I am back to square 1. I am going to lose weight all over again and I am going to get stronger and I am following the rules. My diet consists more of quality calories instead of quantity. My workouts will become more routine and less of a chore. I'm excited. I'm ready. I'm ecstatic. Although I used to kickbox and run often, I have not in a long time and I feel it best that I start from the bottom again even though i'm of the mentality that the harder I go the better the results. My goal is to be feel comfortable in my body and in my clothes by my 26th birthday (26 March). Main Quest: Keep up a daily workout routine 5x a week, lose 2 pounds a month, gain muscle and get to a healthy body fat percentage. Goals: 1. Workout 5x a week beginner's workout 15-30 minutes Tuesday and Thursday1 hour brisk walk Monday-Friday2. Maintain a diet of 1400 (quality) calories Motivation: For my family and my health I want to be a good role model to my children and husband I want to be happy with my image
