  1. Previously on Everstorm Re-Forged: I have completed one fire weight-loss) cycle and am currently in a tempering (maintenance/recovery) cycle that will end the morning after Easter. It does not beautifully coincide with NF timings, but here we are. So, weeks 0-2 will be continued maintenance and weeks 3-5 will be the start of the next round of weight-loss. Instead of having two sets of goals, however, I will try to make ones that will apply to both phases. Goal 1: Stay within my calorie limits. The actual quantity will change with different phases, but I know what the limits are and I need to stick to them. Goal 2: Stretch for 10 minutes every day in the gym. The idea is to build a daily gym habit, even though I will only follow-up stretching with a gym workout every other day. My hope is to 1) grease the groove a bit and remove a barrier to getting in the gym and 2) have an easy habit to fall back to when I am sick/injured/roll in poison ivy and need to back down from full workouts without losing the gym habit. Goal 3: Draw weekly (or more) I had considered doing Camp NaNoWriMo in April, but I think I am enjoying pursuing my art right now. I want to keep working on the Inktober52 challenge and also...I have been commissioned to do an ink drawing for actual real dollars. My mother showed someone the hawk I did for Inktober and they offered to pay me to do a great horned owl in the same style. So I need to work on that.
  2. Wonder if anyone was taking part in Inktober this year? I'd love to see what NF has to offer art wise
  3. Autumn Adventures Apologies in advance to any friends on the other side of the equator. It's finally starting to feel like autumn around where I'm at and my enthusiasm for this time of year is huge. Autumn is by far my favorite season. The leaves start changing colors and turning the landscape into fiery awesomeness. Some of my favorite produces are in season again (broccoli, apples, various squashes, brussels sprouts, kale). The days start getting crisp and cool - perfect for hiking in the morning and coming home to a nice cup of hot tea. (Hopefully the temps actually spend some time in fall and don't go straight from summer to winter.... the weather this year is weird...) And I also love how the creative community just explodes in enthusiasm for month-long awesomeness such as Inktober and NaNoWriMo. This challenge is themed to keep me on track with good habits, while also allowing myself to have fun indulging in some creative hobbies. So last challenge.... was all about floundering around and trying to figure out long-term goals. I do have some details kicking around inside my head - but I want to work a bit more on turning those vague impressions into words that make sense outside my own head. This challenge.... I want to continue with some good habits that I started earlier this year - and kind of got stuck in the mud with around early July - and prioritize them against my enthusiasm for the ongoing creative stuffs. Goals: Drink at least 2 Liters of water daily (ongoing since January) 5 a day fruits and vegetables (extra incentive - $2 for every day I hit this goal towards something cool - maybe a fountain pen?? or a bonsai tree??) Take time to explore outside - at least 2 adventures in nature / week Finish Inktober strong Start NaNoWriMo strong
  4. Hi there my lovely NF artists, We don't have a LOFT yet and I was suddenly reminded that it was already Oktober and I hadn't done any sketches in ink. But I think Inktober isn't the right thing for me anyway. I'm just not consistent enough to draw something every day and also a little too busy. But I would like to do a little challenge with you, that would make me be more artsy then last month. So here is my proposal: Let's try to post 31 pieces of art, that were finished this Oktober. I don't mind, what materials you want to use. In the spirit of the Loft it can be crafts, drawings, paintings, sculpting, traditional and digital art - And of course anything artsy I couldn't think of at the moment. Just have some fun and challenge yourself to do a little more art then last month. If you haven't done any art for months, but want to get back into the creative prozess, you're right here. I'm going to mark this post for the guys and gals, who have been hanging around the Loft: @erosan, @BlackTezca, @Starpuck, @UnquietBones, @MrsFeanor, @Neeko, @Kelliestrasza, @StarRuby, @Pyrorazor If you know anybody else, who could be intrested, just give them a call. It's already the 3rd of Oktober, so the challenge already started. And I wasn't sure, if I should have posted it in the PVP forum, because it's more co-op.
