  1. Hey guys, I wanted to tap into the collective Assassin Brain here and ask for your input. I'm planning on building an iPhone app [eventually android too] for parkour workouts. It's going to be free, and I'm hoping really fun. I havn't even built my first iphone app yet, so this is a ways off [although this is what I am planning to do for work eventually]. But I'm in the planning stage, and I've always found that having a fun project makes learning a new programming language a lot faster. I really like the format of the Gain Fitness app as far as the way it walks you through it, and for customizing your workout plan, but I wanted to build something parkour-specific, similar to the WOD from APK. I was also toying with the idea of making some sort of storyline aspect like Zombies, Run. [but obviously not zombies, becuase that is already taken.] So my question is this: What would YOU like to see as a feature of an iPhone parkour app? in addition to workouts, something like a mapping feature for user-imputed jam sites? I'm open to any ideas, i'm in the brainstorming phase!
  2. Hey guys and gals! So I had a friendly argument with a gym buddy about what phone is best/most used for those of us with active lifestyles. I am a iPhone 6s girl but he uses a Galaxy.iPhone or Galaxy? Let me know which one you have! Thanks loves,Chanel
  3. Hi guys, I'm starting a uni course in September and I want to hit the ground running with a gym membership. In the past, I've been a bit too timid in the gym and stuck to the cardio and weight machines - weights were always something the proper gym bunnies used, not someone like me. But, I've decided/realised that I'm never going to complete my quest without using weights, so I've got to tackle the weights section. Problem is, I'm clueless. I wouldn't know where to begin. So, I'm wondering if someone can recommend an iPhone app which provides training schedules and guides for strength training work at the gym? I don't mind paying, but free is better! Thanks guys, ChairmanDavey NB. I have tried searching the forums, but 'iOS', 'gym', and 'app' all have too few characters for the search function. Sorry if it's been posted before!
  4. Do you have a bike gloves that you can use with iPhone? If so, could you tell me where I can get it? Thanks!
  5. Unfortunately, the bike season is pretty much over for me, but over the summer/fall, I did a few scenic rides. I wanted to create/plan the route before going out, and as I'm riding, I wanted my iPhone to do the navigation. All those "tracking" apps like mapMyRide doesn't do a boo for navigation while riding. Cue sheet thing is pretty hard if the route is complicated. A regular car navigation apps like CoPilot, etc. works in some degree but it's geared toward moving from point A to B, and not meant to be good for scenic "go here and there" kind of navigation. So, I used "ridewithgps", and mapmyride web sites to set up the route, and create gpx or ctx file, and loaded it to dropbox, and then used "co-rider" last time. It was a frustrating experience as the co-rider kept thinking that I'm at the destination when I was at the start since the route was a loop. While riding, though I could not use the voice guidance, but the map moved along and worked OK. But, near the end, it froze, and sent me to the road I was not supposed to, because I did not realize the app froze. It's not necessary that the app is only for iPhone, but since you carry a phone - be it Android or iOS - I want to use it. My question is - what do you use for the bike navigation for rides? The secondary question is, how to secure the phone on your bike when you do the bike navigation?
  6. Rebels! I know that there are a fair share of us Geeks and Programmers out there! I am rallying you together to help take this forum to the next level! Software Engineers get your mobile platform engines up and running! Let's take the REBELLION MOBILE! Let's make this an online collaboration so that we can all openly contribute! What better way to strengthen the Rebellion than by using our strengths? Some Key Features to start with: Shopping List Forum Picture Posting using Mobile Camera Check your Messages (not IM) Track progress/goals on your Challenges Workout plans Stretching/Exercise Demos (either illustrations or videos) Metrics Tracker (input your weight, measurements and have a BMI/BF output feature) I am sure that there are millions more ideas but these seem the most pertinent to me. I travel a lot for my job (going to remote sites to do server inspections and check on port security) so having this all available on my phone would be great! That way, I don't have to pull out my computer every morning and log my weight/measurements and track my meals. Fellow Rebels, let me know what you all think! I can design some cool UI concept drawings if it will help at all, but my programming skills are very limited! I am rallying you all to help! Help me Rebel Engineer-kenobis, you're my only hope! (self kudos for proper use of you're) This is a very basic idea for the app: http://ibuildapp.com/projects.php?action=info&projectid=660110
  7. An iPhone app that I use to track my running, iSmoothRun, is free today in the app store. If you're really a geek and you run, then this app will make you wet your pants. I don't have a horse in this race. I just figured free is good and y'all might dig it. iSmoothRun Pro GPS/Pedometer Tracker for Runners
