This is my first challenge. yea. (waves tiny flag) I'm going to use this to get over the inertia I built toward the end of 2016 and begin (dun duh duh daaaaaaaaaaah) Year of Awesome! I have many goals for Year of Awesome and I'm starting some things behind the scenes (like trying a primal diet and developing a closer relationship with my mom) that won't be on my list for January. I plan to focus on something specific each challenge month and add on as I go. Hopefully this will keep me from burning out by trying to do everything else at once and instead I'll have an increasing force for good and joyful habits that will grow in momentum throughout the year. Now for a confession. I too have start-stop-start-stop gym syndrome. I need to get over this hurdle. I need to break through into habit formation. I want this challenge to finally get me there. I want to stop planning and talking and start living this, not just for a month or two, but for the rest of my life. January Goals Fitness: Get a consistent gym habit already! Stronglifts 5x5, 3 times a week More happiness, less not happiness: (This is my catch all category for life improvement to decrease stress, make life easier, and have a better week.) Do Apartment Therapy's January Cure to get my get my condo ready for the year. I actually really enjoy this process and the end results. I find it fun. That's it. That's all I'm doing. I have about a billion other things I want to work on and some of them will probably start to happen this month, like trying out a few slow cooker recipes, but they're not going to be the focus. Every ounce of motivation and bullheadedness is going toward showing up in the gym.
