  1. I need some advice, specifically from men, I guess... but everyone is welcome to comment. I would really like my relationship to move to the next level (get engaged, get married), but I don't want to be the one to propose. It's something I would consider, but I would prefer to be asked. So how do I "make it known" that I would like to be proposed to, sooner rather than later, but still keep it romantic? I don't want to make any demands or cry at him or give him an ultimatum. I would really, more than anything, like to be surprised and romanced by the whole thing.... but I have been kind of expecting it for a while now. Here are the facts: I'm 32He's 38We've been together for 2 yearsWe've been living together for a yearWe're not super romantic types. We're pretty laid back. We have talked about marriage and kidsWe both want kids (I specifically want 2. He seems cool with that)I have basically planned my future wedding on Pinterest alreadyMy "dream" wedding is maximum $4000. I also have a Pinterest board full of rings... most are under $200. He was really slow (imo) telling me he loved me. We'd been dating for 6 months. He mentioned the possibility of us moving in together BEFORE telling me he loved me (what??!) I have come to the point that the waiting is getting difficult and has caused tears & frustrationI have decided that if the proposal doesn't happen on V-Day, I have to say something. We've talked about our own personal versions of our life timelines before. At the time I think his priority was buying property, then the other stuff. Mine was marriage, baby, then property. I explained that for me, babies were a priority because it's easier to get knocked up when you're under 35. I live in Vancouver, which is the most expensive place in the country to live and the third most expensive in the world, I believe. So we CANNOT afford to buy property right now. Not even close. Mimimum for a mortgage on a decent place in one of the suburbs is about $300,000. Engagement ring and wedding, according to MY standards, is cheap and financially doable any time... We can afford babies too, with our current rent. So. Any advice? How should I bring it up? How should I approach this without taking all the romance out of it or making him feel pressured or guilty? Please help!
  2. Battle Log. Here it is! I started this in 2012, inspired by Nerd Fitness. This is what I do instead of challenges now, as it's more long-term. i was doing both, but it was too much paperwork. I'll explain as I earn points in each of the nine areas.
  3. We all die alone. But we don’t have to live that way. Space is lonely enough, and without the support of a good crew, you may just end up crazy as the gorram Reavers. But even they don’t go it alone. For the next six weeks, I will be revamping and revitalizing my relationships with my crew members. I have four specific missions to get me to that point (technically, to follow the new guidelines, 3 goals and a side mission). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mission 1: Become a “stronger†captain. Do the 100 Pushup challenge Right now I can do 30 at a time, although I can do more if I rest in between sets of 10. I want to be able to do 100 all at a time. This is my solo goal. (3 STR, 1 STA) Mission 2: “Refresher†flight training with co-pilot. Complete the Marriage Fitness Program I have a good marriage, but you know the saying, good is the enemy of great. I want to be more intentional in my marriage, so I will be doing a 6-week marriage enrichment program I designed. This goal will be done with TornadoAllie. (3 CHA, 1 WIS) Mission 3: “Coordinate†actions plans with co-pilot and gunner. Learn 3 songs on bass guitar. I have taken a few lessons, but want to do more with it. My wife is in the dame boat with her guitar. My dad just got an electronic drum set and wants to learn to play. So we will be picking three beginner songs and working on them individually so we can al play together in six weeks. This goal will be done with TornadoAllie and NoMoreBull. (3 DEX) Mission 4: Keep “on the run†with my whole crew: copilot, gunner, and mechanic. Run 5K under 30min. We all have different goals for time, but we all will be working on running a 5k by the end of the challenge. I will be training with TornadoAllie, but this goal is also with NoMoreBull and TombRayder. (3 STA, 1 STR) “When you can't run, you crawl. And when you can't crawl, you find someone to carry you."
  4. Hey, everyone! I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this question, but it seemed as good a place as any to ask. In my household we have a conflict of interest when it comes to food. That conflict of interest, frankly, is me. I love meat. I love the energy it gives me, the taste, everything. I like eating GOOD meat from my local health food store from local farms. Meanwhile, my wife does NOT love meat. She loathes it. Mostly the way it makes her feel. She never feels well after eating meat, even if it's "good" meat. She can bear chicken on occasion, but that's about it. So basically, I'm a omnivore living with a herbivore. And I don't mind eating veggies/vegetarian meals. They're good for me, they taste good, and my wife cooks them, so that's a bonus x 10000. However, I've been considering wanting to try the Paleo diet for a month. My main aim is cutting out sugar, because I feel like I consume too much. Unfortunately, Paleo for my wife isn't feasible, as she detests meat. What I'm looking for here is tips for a dual-diet household. Is it feasible? Affordable? Manageable? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
