  1. Bonus Challenge 1: Force Training The Force flows through all living things, but before you can shape it, you must first learn to feel its patterns. You must seek balance at all times and let the Force flow through you. Each Padawan or Acolyte who wishes to participate: Select a hand balance pose of appropriate difficulty from the list below, then practice as much as you can and log your time here. Level 1: Tripod Wall headstand Arm pressure pose Crow pose headstand Level 2: Tripod headstand (tripod base) Yoga headstand (forearm base) Crow pose Wall handstand (facing towards wall) Wall handstand (facing away from wall) Level 3: Firefly pose Side crow Free handstand One-hand wall handstand Level 4: Scorpion pose One-hand handstand (rock levitation optional) HOW TO PLAY: If you have not already Chosen Your Allegiance, please use the link to do so. A Guild Leader will assign you a faction at their earliest opportunity (allow at least 24 hours). Check the sheets (Jedi Padawan and Sith Acolytes) to see where you have been assigned. Only one pose may be selected for this challenge, of appropriate difficulty to the individual. Log your cumulative time (in seconds) the pose is held WITH GOOD FORM. This challenge will end at 11:00am EST on February 17th. Bonus points will be awarded for photographic evidence. Limit one photo per participant. Individual times will be totalled to determine the winning faction, which will receive a bonus during the final battle. Each test subject will be asked to complete a single AMRAP set in each exercise *up to their current capability*. AMRAP (As Many Repetitions As Possible) is defined as a the maximum reps completed *with good form* in a single set with minimal rest For single limb variants, use whichever limb you like. Feel free to use Google sheets' "add note" feature to add notes to the spreadsheet Partial reps are permitted FOR THE FINAL REP ONLY, however entering an AMRAP of 0 is not permitted. i.e. you may enter a score of 2.5 reps if you final rep was shallow or .5 reps if you only managed to go halfway in your first and final rep attempting an exercise, but you may not do 6 half reps and count those as a score of 3. If you have an injury that means you cannot do any of these exercises safely please contact your Guild Leaders for an alternative challenge for the week. Automated defense turrets may be present in the test area. Each participant will be awarded with a complementary companion cube free of charge (while supplies last, restriction may apply, please allow 6-8 centuries for shipping). The scoring formula is based on how many exercises were attempted (with diminishing returns) and number of reps. The exact details of the formula are confidential, however, based on the experiment's results, the scoring formula for next week's experiment may be modified. Automated defense turrets may be equipped with foam darts, water guns, or prototype energy weapons. All models are indistinguishable prior to activation.   3. Workout Finishers Welcome Brothern and Swolemaidens, it’s that time again, time for your weekly side quest. Contrary to popular belief being a warrior isn't always about size and strength; it’s also about having the gas tank to back it up. What’s the use of a battle axe if you can only swing it once or twice before passing out? What’s the use of heavy armor if it wears you down? If this sounds familiar it’s time to step up your conditioning game. Now I know what you’re thinking. But Br0din, what about mah gainz? Don’t worry there will be no cardio bunnies here, cuz bunnies are only good for one thing, PWO meals. Instead of treadmills, ellipticals, or stair climbers (aka the hamster wheels of the masses), we’ll be using the Iron and good old fashion body weight. So how do we balance strength training and metabolic conditioning? Enter the workout finisher. Finishers are intense but short conditioning sessions done at the end of a strength workout. They can vary in the implements used and the duration of each movement, but the goal is always the same; go hard, go fast, and get it done. Of course we don’t want to interfere with your training so we’ll be introducing one new finisher a week. Your challenge is to find a way to fit it into your schedule at least once during that time. In addition we recognize that a few of us may not have access to some of the forth coming implements, as such we’ll also provide a weekly body weight alternative. Use this thread to ask questions and record your weekly workout in the following format. During this tumultuous time of change in the Rebellion, we’ll be pulling back the curtain a little to conscript... er, I mean… recruit… guinea pigs… er, um… volunteers… for an ongoing... experiment. To volunteer, please enter your name into the spreadsheet located here. All Assassins, regardless of fitness level, are eligible and welcome to volunteer.   9. LEVEL 6: BOWSER'S CASTLE! Welcome to the final level of Assassin Super Mario World! We've made our way through caves and underwater realms and forests and skies and even haunted houses, and now it's finally time to rescue our targets and STOMP ON BOWSER! HOW TO PLAY: There are two ways to defeat Bowser - stomping on him OR pushing him off the ledge into the lava. Accordingly, you have two exercise types available to you! In order to complete this final level, each Assassin will need to complete 600 reps of jumps and/or push-ups. You will remember the jumps from level 1 - now you have a pushing option as well:Jumps Push-ups (any variant)You may choose to do a combination of the above movements, as long as you make sure the final point total adds up to >600You may do any BODYWEIGHT pushing exercise you wish for pusposes of this challenge, but please pick a level that is challenging for you. If you're doing diamond push-ups regularly, don't coast through on wall push-ups, okay?If you have an injury that means you cannot do jumpsor push-ups safely OR if you prefer not to do them, please skip below to the Yoshi Completion section.Each participant may complete the level only once. You may not pool reps for your teammates (i.e. teammate A cannot add to teammate B's score). There is no bonus item this week - HOWEVER, the top 3 performers will each earn an additional 25 points for their teams!In addition, this final challenge will be worth 200 points for the winning team, with 100 points for second, 50 for third, and 25 for fourth.If you are completing level 6 with a Green Mushroom, you get an extra go at this fight, making it a lot easier.   11. SUPER MARIO ASSASSIN ALL-STARS! Welcome to the Challenge #44 Assassin Mini Challenge! GAME ON. And so are your plumbers.... and even your messenger....... Wait, what? It seems Bowser and his goons have stepped it up a notch - instead of just kidnapping Peach (a tactic which hasn't worked out too well for him in the past), he pulled off a mass kidnapping and locked up Mario and Luigi, too. And Toad, for good measure, just in case he thought to guide another hero to the rescue... But we're Assassins. We destroy world-changing artifacts and Dark Lords. Rescuing a princess, a couple plumbers, and a talking mushroom without guidance should be cake. Right? TIME TO RESCUE THE HEROES OF THE SUPER MARIO WORLD! How It Works: This mini is open to all who wish to participate, with a few restrictions: All Assassins are eligible to participate and earn stats, as always. Recruits MAY NOT participate. Please come back next time, after you have completed your first full 6WC. If you have questions about this rule, please PM me. Members of other guilds are welcome to join the game, but please note that you will not be able to earn any stat points. You can still play just for fun, however.   14. LEVEL 5: FLYING! Welcome to level five of Assassin Super Mario World! Everyone's favorite level type, surely - elevated scrolling level time! No ground beneath our feet, just sky. I'm sure you're not surprised that this week, in order to fly through the level, we'll be tackling PULL-UPS! HOW TO PLAY: In order to complete this level, each Assassin will need to complete 500 points worth of pull- or chin-ups. Depending on the difficulty of the movement you choose, the number you need to complete changes:Scapular pulls and bodyweight rows = 1 point eachNegatives and assisted pull-or chin-ups = 5 points eachFull pull- or chin-ups (+ any more complex variant) = 10 points eachYou may choose to do a combination of the above movements, as long as you make sure the final point total adds up to >500Your grip doesn't matter for purposes of this challenge. Pull-up hold, chin-up hold, neutral grip, fabric pull-ups, etc.... all of it counts.If you have an injury that means you cannot do pull-ups safely OR if you prefer not to do them, please skip below to the Yoshi Completion section.Each participant may complete the level only once. You may not pool reps for your teammates (i.e. teammate A cannot add to teammate B's score). Once you have finished your reps, you are free to continue past the limit and you may earn a special item going into the next challenge, but 500 points is all that is necessary to earn points for your team.If you are completing level 5 with a Cape Feather, flight is significantly easier for you. With a Cape Feather, all exercise types count as full pull- or chin-ups and are worth 10 pointe each. Please enter all of your reps in columnE.   15. LEVEL 4: UNDERWATER! Welcome to level four of Assassin Super Mario World! Time to get wet! We'll be swimming through this level, but don't worry, pool access is unnecessary. Mario's really good at holding his breath, and in honor of that, we'll be doing some STATIC HOLDS! HOW TO PLAY: In order to complete this level, each Assassin will need to complete 400 seconds of static holds. There are four holds available; you may do 400 seconds of any combination of the following:​Hollow body holdWall sitPlank (variations acceptable - forearm, full extension, side, single leg/single arm, etc)Superman holdIf you have an injury that means you cannot do static holds safely OR if you prefer not to do them, please skip below to the Yoshi Completion section.Each participant may complete the level only once. You may not pool reps for your teammates (i.e. teammate A cannot add to teammate B's score). Once you have finished your reps, you are free to continue past the limit and you may earn a special item going into the next challenge, but 400 seconds is all that is necessary to earn points for your team.If you are completing level 4 with a Fire Flower, you are able to shoot fireballs at your enemies and greatly decrease the amount of time you spend in the water. With a Fire Flower, you only needto complete 200 seconds to finish the level. Please multiply your seconds complete by 2 and enter that number in the spreadsheet. NOTE: Once the level is complete, if you want to go for the bonus item, count your seconds as normal (i.e. 200 x 2 to finish the level, then all additional reps x 1 to add to your score). Remember that this item will expire at the end of level 4, so if you have it, use it or lose it! YOSHI COMPLETION: Mario's favorite dinosaur friend is available to help you clear the level with ease! Each week's level will have a Yoshi completion option that will involve cooking. Team scores will be determined by the number of team members that complete the level.   16. LEVEL 3: HAUNTED HOUSE! Welcome to level three of Assassin Super Mario World! There seems to be a big haunted mansion in our way.... looks like we'll have to get through it before we can continue. Fortunately, we're not afraid of no ghosts! Even if we should be..... at least a little. You can't stomp on a ghost or throw a shell at it... pretty much all you can do is RUN AWAY! HOW TO PLAY: In order to complete this level, each Assassin will need to complete 300 seconds of sprinting. A sprint should involve running close to or at your max speed for a brief spurt of time. In other words, if you can do all 300 seconds in a row at a speed, that speed is probably too low.   17. LEVEL 2: UNDERGROUND! Welcome to level two of Assassin Super Mario World! This level takes place underground! I hope you're not claustrophobic, because there are some pretty narrow spaces to traverse.... fortunately, we Assassins are pretty good at that sort of thing. Our second challenge is to CRAWL! HOW TO PLAY: In order to complete this level, each Assassin will need to complete 200 quadrupedal movement reps before the end of the week. There are 4 movements available; you may do 200 reps of any combination of the following:Bear crawlsArmy crawlsCrab walksInchwormsFor the first three exercises 1 rep = both sides (i.e. both arms and legs moved). For inchworms, 1 rep = all the way down and back up again. You can go forward or backward (or a combination of both).If you have an injury that means you cannot crawl safely OR if you prefer not to crawl, please skip below to the Yoshi Completion section.Each participant may complete the level only once. You may not pool reps for your teammates (i.e. teammate A cannot add to teammate B's score). Now, I hear we have a piece of fancy jewelry to deliver to Mordor... what say you, nerds? Ready to have an adventure? I'm a wizard. I can mix canons if I like. If you're ready, then grab your walking shoes and listen up! How It Works: This mini is open to all who wish to participate, with a few restrictions: All Assassins are eligible to participate and earn stats, as always. Recruits MAY NOT participate. Please come back next time, after you have completed your first full 6WC. If you have questions about this rule, please PM me. Members of other guilds are welcome to join the game, but please note that you will not be able to earn any stat points. You can still play just for fun, however. If you have questions about this rule, please PM me. Participants will be split into 4 groups - elves, dwarves, humans, and hobbits. If you are an Assassin and you have NOT completed the Assassin sign-up form, please do so and you will be assigned a race. You can see the current roster here. You will be locked into your chosen race for the duration of the mini and will not be able to change races. Different races may receive bonuses in certain challenges, so picking based on your strengths may be wise. Note that there is no guarantee that you will receive your first choice of team if the numbers aren't balanced, but I will do my best. Each week, the Fellowship will be given a task to complete as they journey to Mordor. Although we are working together to get the One Ring to Mordor, we're also searching out the most worthy among us... the one who will earn the right to carry and destroy the Ring in the end.   20. THE ONLY WAY IS UP Congratulations, intrepid Assassins! We've made it to Mordor. Now the only remaining obstacle is this little hill here..... and we don't have wings, alas. But with our friends to help us, surely we can scale this mountain and deliver this ring to its demise at last. HOW TO PLAY: I mix my fandoms as I please~ You've guessed it - to climb this mountain, we will be doing mountain climbers. One rep = both legs.The one exception to the above is if you have an injury that means you cannot do mountain climbers safely. If this is your situation, please PM starsapart and get an alternative exercise.It takes 6,000 climbers to reach the top of the mountain. Until the team's climbers are complete, their champions will not be able to begin their challenge. And speaking of champions...SELECT YOUR CHAMPION! Each team will volunteer one champion for a final PVP face-off that will determine who ultimately gets to toss the ring into the volcano. The champion challenge will be worth 200 points for the winning team, so the potential advantage is huge!Please enter the champion's name in the spreadsheet... details of the PVP are forthcoming as soon as the first team reaches the rim of the volcano (completes their 6,000 climbers), so no, you won't know what you'll be doing when you sign up.The teams that perform best on this task will earn additional prestige, helping them make their case for being the worthiest of all races... thus bringing their champion one step closer to delivering the Ring to Mount Doom.   21. IT'S JUST A LITTLE NARROW... We're nearly to Mordor now! Only a few obstacles stand in out path..... such as this lovely bit of scenery. Oh, and this harmless-looking creature: Easy as pie, right? Get through the tunnels, defeat the giant spider... we'll be at Mount Doom in time for second breakfast. HOW TO PLAY: First, getting through the tunnels. They're narrow in some places... to get through, each team will have to collectively do 1,000 bear crawls. 1 rep = moving BOTH legs and BOTH arms (2 "steps").RACE BONUS IN PLAY! Hobbits are good at fitting in tight spaces, so each bear crawl for team hobbit will count for 1.5 points instead of 1.Once your team has reached Shelob (completed 1000 bear crawls), you must defeat the spider! Unfortunately, we don't have a special gift from Galadriel to help us along. Fortunately, we're pretty tough and can fight her via conventional means.Shelob has 4,000 HP total that needs to be depleted. To deplete this, we're going to be doing leg raises (how does this relate to fighting? I'm sure you can come up with some sort of analogy - work with me here and pretend they're kicks; we're doing some core madness this week). 1 rep = down and back up again.The one exception is if you have an injury that means you cannot do either bear crawls or leg raises safely. If this is your situation, please PM starsapart and get an alternative exercise. If you can do one but not the other, that's fine - work with your teammates.The teams that reach Shelob fastest and do the most damage before the spider goes down will earn additional prestige, helping them make their case for being the worthiest of all races... thus bringing their champion one step closer to delivering the Ring to Mount Doom.
