  1. Happy Monday, friends! I searched through the forum to find an answer for this topic and didn't come across one . . . Does anyone have recommendations for a good vegan protein powder or other protein source to add to morning smoothies? I have used peanut butter, almond butter, and frozen edamame in the past but I'd love something a little more (plus, I get tired of the peanut butter taste every day). I make a morning smoothie with greens, fruit, and flax seed - but it doesn't always fill me up enough to get to lunch and I'm not always on my game to have another, heartier breakfast ready. It would be awesome to find one that doesn't use sweetener, though I'm not sure that's possible. Thanks!
  2. Hello all, I'm new here, currently doing my first challenge as a rebel before moving on to being a baby wolf assassin. I see people talking about protein powder on here, and I wondered if that's something to look into. I do eat meat, veg, quinoa (and eggs, sometimes - I don't really like them) but I do sometimes find it hard to eat enough protein. I'm currently doing IF (16-8) and being paleo-ish. I'm based in the UK. Since I'm dairy- and soy- intolerant, I was thinking of something like this. I know there must be other posts on here about this, but my searching didn't come up with them - so I'd love your advice, or links to other threads. TL;DR: Should I use protein powder? What kind is good that doesn't have dairy/soy? Thanks!
  3. Hi, I'm not lactose intolerant, but I do have an intolerance for cow milk. (Everything that's from goat/sheep/horse milk is perfectly fine) First of all, I'm new to this protein powder thing, so I need your advice 1. Milk isolate is absolutely no option, but what about whey? I have no clue where it actually comes from? 2. What is a good plant-based protein powder? I personally don't like hemp as much, but I have no experience with others. 3. Is it possible to get a protein powder WITHOUT a ton of artificial sweeteners? I'm not used to sweet flavours and they make me kinda nauseous even... (comparison; Just having a single bite of a brownie, I find sickeningly sweet, can't even taste the chocolate, just sugar) Thanks!!
  4. I'm a noob weightlifter, being lifting for about six months. And curious about protein powders. I'm currently trying to lose weight so I've cut my caloric intake to about 1800 a day. Should I even be bothering with protein powder yet? Is it going to improve recovery or is it only going to add calories I don't need? If I should be using it, what are the nerd fitness recommendations for brand/value for money? Feel free to gruffly point me to a sticky for this information if it exists, I couldn't find one.
  5. This is my first original post, although I've commented quite a bit elsewhere. Has anyone had an allergic reaction to stevia? It might manifest as rashes, sores, or possibly blisters near or below the armpit. I've started drinking a whey protein powder that has stevia rather than sugar and that's the only major lifestyle change I can think of lately. "Elite Vanilla" and "Cafe Mocha", specifically.
  6. I am looking for some 100% whey protein powder that doesn't have "stuff" added to it. The kicker is that I am on a very tight budget and so it needs to be relatively inexpensive.
