  1. so the end of last challenge was... hiiiiiiiii, i'm CM and i like lifting and eating and fun runs and short OCRs. i got a bit side tracked the last couple weeks after a vacation and now some stomach pains that won't go away. i'm going to take this challenge week by week and adjust as things progress. ZERO WEEK 1. move everyday. either a walk or yoga with some pull up bar hangs. 2. figure out your stomach issues. go to the doctor as needed, make those appts, take supplements, eat at least 30g fiber from food per day. 3. lift. if I can, i'd like to get in an do some light sets of 10 on each lift. just to get back in there. but it will need to happen tomorrow or friday so we'll see how i feel. we'll re-evaluate for WEEK 1. work has been crazy busy so forgive me if I haven't stopped by your thread yet! also i have this stuff going on during the challenge... 9/15: friend’s wedding 9/16: cape cod with fam 9/23 – 9/24: Maine trip 9/29: dress shopping 9/30: outfit and dress shopping 10/1: NH 5K 10/7: friend’s wedding 10/13 – 10/16: Acadia Nat’l Park camping

    RES The Return

The Bitch is Back! As some of you may be aware, I am an accountant for a minor league baseball team. This is my first year and I discovered that until you find your 'sweet spot' it can be a bit difficult to balance everything. I also discovered baseball puns amuse me, so get used to them Now that season is over I can get back into the swing of things around here, next season I will likely go back to using the battle log format and work on maintaining some accountability...but right now I need to work on a few things! So the off season I will be doing challenges! My eating has really suffered...after being Paleo/Keto for over three years I had gotten to a point I didn't think about it, but an unsupportive spouse and the nature of my job made this difficult. It's only been the last month that I've really fallen off the wagon but I want to get back on it before I'm too far gone. I've also gotten some test results back recently and I think it could help. Because I hate being vague...about three months ago my Nurse Practitioner did an entire workup because I was feeling excessively drained and tired, the only thing that was abnormal was my liver enzymes were high and vitamin D was low...she said lets retest in three months, so we did. I got a call on Friday from her nurse saying they were still high "but not as bad" I asked what this meant and she said I needed to talk to my GP about it, I said I don't have one, she said "oh, well we can retest next year if you want" I said that didn't answer my question...nothing I've found makes this sound like something that "happens then clears up" so I'm a bit concerned...especially since I have RA and nerve damage in my neck after a car wreck seven years ago, I don't take prescription meds but have ingested a fair share of Naproxin...that and RA can both be a cause of this from my understanding. I haven't been going to the gym...going in at 8:30 and getting home at midnight on gamedays makes that hard. On non-gamedays I generally tried to catch up on sleep, meal prep, and other things that I needed to do, I want to get back to that. I haven't been on Nerd Fitness...no good excuse really since I manage to find time get on Facebook, I could just as easily come here....over there just lends it self to mindless scrolling and feeling brain cells dying off... So, challenge is as follows: Gym 3x/week Food 5x/week, would be 7 but let's be realistic, if I don't see progress I'll make it stricter Nerd Fitness 3x/week posting something/somewhere doesn't have to be my own thread, hopefully this will become a daily habit again. Tracking spreadsheet is in the signature Monday and Tuesday I will be out of town at the offsite for work, we review what happened, what can be improved, etc...nice down time with co-workers...problem is I need to do a presentation on Monday that recaps my department and no I have not started this, nor am I looking forward to it...speeches and presentations are not my thing
  3. Hello, Posting on here is really scary honestly but I'm hoping that getting involved with the community will help me stay on track. I'm 28 years old and have been working and going to school for the last 10 years. That's how I would describe myself to people; I work and go to school and sometimes I get to play roller hockey. However, I finally graduated this month and am still searching for full time employment so I think it's time I cultivate a new identity. Over the last 4 or 5 years of school I've had lots of sleep deprivation, copious amounts of caffeine, forgetting to eat, and stress eating so I've gained probably around 60 pounds. During that time I've tried making changes to my diet and exercise, like eliminating fast food, incorporating more vegetables, eating several small meals a day, and getting regular exercise. Each time I got serious about it I would lose about 20 pounds and several inches but then something would come along (an assignment or exam) and I'd get stressed, get sick, fall behind and get more stressed, get poor grades and get depressed, and gain back all the weight and then some. Inevitably I got tired of the methods I was using anyway (although cutting out fast food and eating more vegetables has stuck). Eating several small meals a day and tracking calories made me constantly hungry and constantly thinking about what I was going to eat and when. I felt like my life revolved around food. And I hate cardio so I could never stay motivated to exercise. All that said, I fancy myself as adventurous, curious, athletic, and strong. Unfortunately, I don't really feel like any of those things. Hence, why I am ceasing to lurk and am finally joining the Rebellion! I'm hoping I can get out of my comfort zone to meet some new people, learn some new things, and reach my goals. Right now I'm aiming to improve my diet first and foremost. With the help of MyFitnessPal I've been tracking calories but I also want to focus on my macros. I seem to eat a ton of carbs and not very much protein. I hate cooking and am on a pretty tight budget so making the necessary changes might be difficult. If anyone has any advice, tips, simple recipes I'd love to hear them! As far as exercising, with the exception of playing roller hockey once a week I've been pretty sedentary for the last few months so I'm trying to work back into it. I figured something simple like playing disc golf a few times a week and doing yoga or TRX a few days a week would be a good approach but I can't seem to find any consistency so I'm hoping to find some accountability for myself here on the forums. Eventually I'd love to find a gym where I can train in Olympic weightlifting. It's also on my list to get more into hiking, biking, kayaking, and sailing now that I have more time. And of course play more hockey! Well, that everything I could possibly think to say about myself. I hope I can get to know some of you!
