  1. I made great progress in my first two years of NF but then I left uni, moved back home and life/work took over. I've tried to come back several times as I know this is the place I see the best results but have failed every attempt as life just took over. My life/work situation has calmed down a bit and I'm now ready to rebuild what's been destroyed in the past two years ..so here I am trying again... What's gone wrong? Gained around 18 pounds Lost endurance etc. for cardio activities Began drinking soda again Eat too much (portion control and junk food/snacks) Became more isolated There's lots I need to address with the above just being highlights but I always think it's good to remind myself of postivies as well as negatives. So what went right? I got promoted to Junior Consultant then Consultant at work I bought a house I moved out of my comfort zone and completed my first Ragnar Relay I travelled alone for the first time Honestly some of my achievements over the past two years have been awesome and I wouldn't want to give them back, it's just unfortunate that in achieving those things I let my health go downhill. MY PLAN SO FAR... Phase 1 - Building my framework Phase 2 - Upgrading my armour Phase 3 - ??? I haven't got a plan yet, that's tonights task but I have ideas that will soon form some goals and plan...
  2. I admit it. I am lost and I need to not necessarily restart, but rebuild myself. This is not a respawn, This is a "okay, so life knocked down everything we did, time to rebuild." Life has kicked me a bit the last 2 challenges. I can whine about it, or I can decide to rebuild and start over. So it is time to get back to work. My time is limited. 4 out of 5 school nights, we have at least 1, if not 2 activities for my 2 human Agents of Chaos (kids). I have 3 furry agents (2 year old Agent K9, Agent Black 4 mo old kitten and Agent Feline (13 yo cat)). I have a house to run, a family to care for and a lack of energy to do so. This is not just a lack of energy. I want to return to go back to where I was. Stronger, healthier, energetic Bean Sidhe. I admit it. I am lost and I need to not necessarily restart, but rebuild myself. This is not a respawn, This is a "okay, so life knocked down everything we did, time to rebuild." That is what this challenge is for. To get my good habits back in place and get my energy back. A year ago I was in much better shape, I have plenty of reasons to complain, but its not a reason anymore, its an excuse. And I need to move past it. Again. Life kicked me in the teeth (literally) and all my hard work went away. Time to rebuild. So I am trying 2 parts to this challenge. Part A - These are things I need to get back in the habit of doing it daily. The goal here is relearn and reset my habits that have worked in the past. When I do these things especially, I feel better and most of these were things I was doing before when I felt better. So these need to start happening daily. Although one of these days, I will have time to put together a properly nerdy post with more gifs and maybe even a theme Goals Keep on Moving (1 pt) – get I need to get my step count up. I am doing okay on week days, but weekends are killing me and soon I will lose the walking to and from the school, so I need to get this back in check Walking on the Sun (1 pt) – Walk 10 minutes every day. I prefer outside, but I need to make that treadmill get used again. This will only help my energy level and my ability to sleep Water is the key to life (1 pt) - Drink 120 oz daily. Ideally this should be stupid simple, but even my water intake has crashed and there are days I am not drinking anything at all. So time to go back to tracking and doing it. Hopefully this will be easy points Spend time with my Nerds (2 pt) – I do better when I am here. Mostly because it means I am practicing what I tell others. So, I need to read and respond to someone for 1 point and do my update for 1 point. Be Strong (1 pt) My exercise fell to the wayside when I was sick. Time to restart them. So I will be adding1 exercise a week I get 1 point for doing what is due (so week 2 I have to do pushups and sit ups) but I get extra gold stars for doing them all. If after they are all added, I am doing extra exercises, more stars Week 1 push ups Week 2 sit ups Week 3 reverse sit ups Week 4 leg lifts Be Flexible (1 pt) My stretches stopped when my exercises did. I notice the difference in my back and some stiffness that stinks. I have to do these to make my back not hate me. Again I am adding one stretch a week with bonus stars for doing more. And if I start doing any not on the list, more stars. Week 1 toe touches Week 2 ballet Week 3 Yoga (upward dog and Child pose) Week 4 Butterfly Focus on future food (1) The harvest is really rolling in and I am not getting it in and it is going to waste. I need to fix that. So, I need to harvest daily and deal with the harvest as needed. Weeding can slip for now. Make sure Lunchboxes get unpacked 1 pt - This is another thing I need to get better about. I need to make sure Youngest Agent and I unpack our lunchboxes to make mornings go smoother and well, YUCK when we don't. Keep it clean 1 pt – Life works so much easier when it is all clean to start in the mornings and I feel better in the mornings. It is much easier to make lunches on a clean island than cleaning it then making lunches. 1 pt for doing them all. Partial points can be awarded. Island/Peninsula, Table, desk and our bath vanity (I don’t know why this is formatting weird so whatever) Face the Chaos 1 pt – I need to focus on the messes that are building up and some days it’s just not going to happen to get outside and work. So I need to spend 5 minutes in one of the following locations. If I do all 3 more bonus Basement Computer room Garage Make a plan of attack 1 pt - My life needs a plan. Punting what I am doing is not working. The plan will help. So this needs made the night before. Work with the Agents 1 pt - I do not feel that both Agents are getting enough of my time or thoughts. So I need to spend 5 minutes a day either cuddling, playing or being involved with them. Even if it’s just to cuddle. Youngest Agent is having the hardest time so I need to be there for her. Cut back Sugar (2 pts) - Better fuel in, hopefully better results out. No sugar I get 2 pts, if I break down and have a bite, one of something 1 pt. anything more and 0 Pts. Total points per day 15. Yes, this is probably ambitious, but I need to get back on track and the only way I can see is to just do it. So multiple points per day. I am going to try to work on better tracking abilities so my numbers don't get so off. Part B Remember the second part. This is it. I have a number of larger projects coming up in the next few weeks. As a result, I need to remember to take these things into consideration when I am doing my challenge. Hopefully by the end of the challenge, I can look at this list and have it all done, or at least done enough that I don't feel bad about anything I didn't do for my goals. So the list of things I have going on is: Things that have to get done this challenge: Get my challenge posted Sort out Challenge info Figure out start date for the challenge ( I may start early) Start preparing to bring plants in over the winter Prepare for adopted family to invade Spend time with adopted family Spend time with Hubby's family that is coming into town Open house at school for Youngest Big fundraiser thing at Youngest school Find someone to watch Agents on Columbus day Halloween costumes Clean out beds for garlic Compost beds for garlic Plant garlic? Make a Proper List of doom Make Calendar of world for Agents in October Start Christmas lists for Agents Decide if I am doing the 5 K at work Sign up for 5 K at work Do the 5 K if I am doing it. So is anyone else overwhelmed yet? Time to get something done. I think I am going to start on today (Tuesday) and get a jump on things. I know there should not be a BUT here, but the big one is that as long as my day doesn't explode (which considering an Agent just told me a kitchen chair may not have any screws, could happen). And Go.....
  3. This is a story of Demonhart, once a formidable Barbarian/Lady Killer. Demonhart was a physical monster that let no challenge stand in his way. He sailed with the Kings Navy (or at-least the US NAVY) and conquered obstacles across the globe. Alas, there comes a day when every warrior decides to hang up the sword and settle down. 8 years later, now with a wife and child, Demonhart looks at himself and sees a shadow of his former glory. Now bested by the smallest challenges that he would have once laughed at. At this crossroads you are only faced with 2 choices, wallow in self pity and fall further and further into misery and disrepair....or pick your self up, dust off your sword and once again prepare for battle. The choice has been made, its time to Wake The Demon....oooRAH!!! Profile Name: CJ aka Demonhart Age: 30 Starting Stats: Weekly updated stats with pics here Weight: 210lbs Body Fat: 25.16% Measurements in inches Chest: 44.25 Waist: 43 Hips: 44.5 Left Bicep: 16 Right Bicep: 16.5 Left Thigh: 24.25 Right Thigh: 24.25 Left Calf: 17 Right Calf: 17.5 As you can see I'm a sloppy mess right now, but I hope all of that is now curving in the right direction. I made a bet with my wife that I could be to 10% body fat by Sept 17 (our daughters second birthday) or else I have to sell my Harley. So my challenges are going to be pushing toward that goal. When I enlisted in the Navy in 2003 I enlisted as a Air Rescue Swimmer. The minimum Physical requirements I had to pass are listed below. I figured a good "get back in basic shape" challenge would be to pass this test. This will be a pass/fail challenge and give 5pts to str, dex, sta, and con if i pass, 0 if I fail. Right now 10 push ups is hard, can barely do 1 pull up and I did one mile in 10:40 yesterday....Ive got work to do. Navy Special Ops Entry Requirements Sit ups - 50 Push Ups - 42 Pull Ups - 4 1.5 Mile Run - 12:00 Bonus - +2 to CHA if I get below NAVY max weight for my height (186lbs)
