  1. This is a no longer a placeholder. Okay, now down to business. I love all of Serenity's crew, but Dr Tam has always resonated with me. He's super smart, loyal, not very worldly and has difficulty expressing himself. I always look forward to his scenes as they just make me smile. Also, unbeknownst to all, he's super cut! My overarching plan is to prepare myself for the Spartan in November. I want to be stronger, more flexible and be able to take RP in the inevitable battle. So let's get started. Get your body working proper Simon: I never - never shot anyone before. Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet. Strength is the name of the game here. I haven't been back to the gym in a powerful long time. That needs to change. My wife and I used to go and lift weights together. So we're going to do that again. We're doing a lot, so the goal is two gym visits per week. I'll be using the Stronglifts program and track my progress using the iPhone app. Unfortunately, we're going up north to my brother's fishing lodge for a week starting this coming Friday. There is a lot to do between now and Friday. I frankly cannot afford the time to pack my gym clothes, drive to the gym, do my workout, get cleaned up, then drive home again. So, for two weeks, I have devised an improvised body weight routine to follow three times a week for this week and next. Here's my circuit: 10 push-ups 10 lunges 10 inverted rows (if I can't find a good place to do these up north, I'll substitute rows with my 20 lb kettlebell) 10 squats 30 second plank Get your body moving proper Simon: [seeing the others dressed as hospital personnel] Well, if I didn't know better, I'd say you all were ready to save some lives. I made quite a few comments about mobility during the last challenge. About how my hips had poor mobility and I wasn't where I wanted to be. Enough is enough. Time for me to follow through on a daily hip mobility routine. Conveniently, there was this hip routine put together by a very knowledgeable, albeit freakishly tiny, Guild Leader. I'ma do that every day. Get your mind thinking proper Book: I'd forgotten, you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Got your next heist planned? Simon: No... but I'm thinking about growing a big, black mustache. I'm a traditionalist. Remember all those push-ups I did last challenge? It's time to step it up a notch. I took the time to build push-ups into my daily routine. One more every day was a good starting point. I've had my time to rest and get the kinks out of my shoulders, so it's time to see just how thick those callused knuckles can get. My goal is to do 50 push-ups every day in as few sets as possible. More so than any other exercise, I dread doing push-ups. Those levers, man. I've broken the ice with regards to doing them. Now I intend to train myself that they are a good thing to be doing all the time. This is in addition to my workout that I'll be doing, bodyweight or otherwise. Get your heart working proper Simon: You're in a dangerous line of work, Jayne. Odds are, you'll be under my knife again. So I want you to understand one thing very clearly: No matter what you do or say or plot, no matter how you come down on us, I will never, ever harm you. You're on this table, you're safe... 'cause I'm your medic. And however little we may like or trust each other, we're on the same crew. Got the same troubles, same enemies, and more than enough of both. Now, we could circle each other and growl, sleep with one eye open, but that thought wearies me. I don't care what you've done, I don't know what you're planning on doing, but I'm trusting you. I think you should do the same. 'Cause I don't see this working any other way. Okay, life goal time. One of the problems with depression is that you have a tendency to put everything on the back burner. Cleaning, eating properly, seeing your friends, exercising. I'm definitely making progress with the latter three but my house is not in the condition that I want it to be. My wife and I have sat down and agreed on some regular weekly tasks that we each need to take care of. My job is the bathrooms. I have other jobs, but this is the one that I'm putting down on paper to be accountable about. That's a weekly job, save the week that we'll be up north. And that's it. Not many gifs, but I like Simon's quotes better than the memes that abound. Onwards!
