  1. Hello, everyone! New here at the rebellion, and I'm starting to modify my workout practice to be more bodyweight and stretching in preparation for parkour. I've been reading a great deal on Yoga and I've been starting to integrate it into my workout schedule to get a little more flexible, and because it's just fun to do. Much of what I have read stresses the importance of breathing through your nose when doing yoga. Every forum, every book, everything says that this is central to the practice. Here's my problem: I have abnormally small sinuses and have been an obligate mouth breather since I was born, and the only way that I would be able to obtain normal air flow through my sinuses would be through major surgery basically taking bones out of my face, something I'm not willing to do if it's not majorly affecting my life. Now, every thread I've ever seen on this topic has basically said "Just blow your nose" or "use a nettie pot" or "accupuncture to clear sinus blockage" or even, "it's all in your head just start breathing through your nose." It's pretty disheartening to just be dismissed like that, and unfortunately, there is no way for me to follow any of that advice. I physically can't get enough air through my nose at one time that I can fill my lungs before my O2 saturation starts to go down (I work in the ER, I've actually checked this on our cardiac monitors). So the question I have is this: how can I modify my practice so that I get the best benefit from what I can do?
