For this next six week challenge I want to focus on building up my back and arm strength to achieve my very first pull up! Also, since community living creates unique challenges when it comes to food, when I cook, I will focus on making 80/20 Paleo meals. 4 months till I get to see my niece again! Goals! Keep lowering intake of sugar (except for during my upcoming birthday) and focus on whole fresh fruits. Make all the house meals I'm responsible for Paleo! Build up arm, core, and back strength through Bodyweight Brigade. Side Quest: I'm making my way through the books I want to read. Gotta keep pushing ahead. Just started a new one yesterday!

First time participating in a challenge and I’m ready to get started! Like many people, my main goal is to lose weight, more specifically fit into a size 12 by the end of this or the next 6 week challenge. But more important than my goal, is why I am doing this. I am changing my life for my niece. Anyone who knows me, knows how important my nieces and nephew are to me. When my niece, Sophia, was diagnosed with Leukemia in the fall, her life, and my life, changed. Seeing her face terrifying obstacles with more bravery than a 5 year-old should possess, is why I am doing this for her. She is my inspiration. She is my hope. She is my strength. I want to be Sophia Strong. I am doing this for Sophia, The Brave. Here are my goals for this 6 week challenge. Reduce sugar intake over the next 6 weeks. Initially cut out desserts, then move on to limiting fruit intake. Eat 80% Paleo on the weekends (including Friday). All other days of the week are mostly out of my control, but the weekends I can actually cook for myself. Start with bodyweight workout and move to weightlifting. Establish a bodyweight workout routine until gym membership begins, then start weight lifting three days a week. Side Quest: Read one book a week. I need to stop adding/buying books I want to read and start checking them off the list! I’m looking forward to these next six weeks, not only for myself, but for my niece. Here’s to big improvements for both of us!
