  1. I've been an on-again-off-again vegetarian for a while. I'm seriously contemplating going vegan. I've done it before but some serious roadblocks got in my way. But I think I can do this if you guys would be willing to give me some advice. First, I'm not saying no-carb or low-carb. But every time I have been vegetarian or vegan, it was (as the title says) a carb-party. I've almost cut grains from my diet. Which is awesome, but then I try to make a vegan-ish meal plan and end up unable to get enough food or I end up with a ton of carbs. So how do I go about this? Is it really something I should worry about? Okay, second concern, and probably more important than the first. I am dirt poor. I live off of food stamps. Every time I went vegetarian/vegan, I ended up way out of budget. I'm slowly mastering the art of leftovers. But, other than that, how do I go vegan on a limited budget? Finally, what is the general consensus about the 80/10/10 diet, if any? I've been reading up on it and the 30 bananas a day thing. I generally hold the people of Nerd Fitness to be well-rounded and smart so I would like your opinions if you have one. Thanks so much!
