I spent my first challenge over in the Ranger guild, thinking I was going to stay that course, but I've realized my long term goals really do line up better with the warrior guild. Very vaguely, they are: Get strong, stay strong, and be strong. The first is about generating power and training through progressions, the second, staying healthy and maintaining good recovery through my workouts, and the last one is more an issue of mental fortitude and attitude, both in and out if the gym. Get strong: by the end of this 4 week challenge, I want to squat 285#, bench 200#, press 145#, and deadlift 400#, all for sets of 5. Currently, I squat 250#, bench 170#, press 120#, and deadlift 365# for those reps, all with more in the tank, though I'm unsure how much more Stay strong: I need to get better about stretching and stretch at least 10 minutes after every workout (additionally, I need to heal my hands) Be strong: this will be the toughest. During this challenge, my girlfriend is moving away to medical school. Silly as this may seem, the challenge is DON'T #$&*ING CRY, and generally keep myself together when she leaves. Additionally (forgive the druid/cleric in me, maybe I'm a paladin), I need to be better about how I pray. I used to take time and pray meditatively, but I've gotten bad about that. So my challenge, starting 0 week, is pray intently and meditatively every day. Other aspects of this challenge I'm going to keep alive: No Soda I'm also trying to figure out if I should adopt a scoring system for challenges. Thoughts would be appreciated. Finally, I will collect all the gifs. ALL of them.
