  1. So I've been feeling like starting a YouTube channel about my art, and being a working mom but finding time to game still. But my biggest problem is I don't want my family to see it. My sisters are really critical and I wouldn't hear the end of it if they saw me on YouTube. My husband keeps saying, " Who cares?" True. I just still can't stand them finding out about my personal life. Any suggestions? Any tips on starting a YouTube channel and a blog?
  2. Hello and welcome to my 12th challenge! 13th? Maybe 15th… I failed a few back in the day. We’re probably on number 14… Anyway, this time I am bringing my latest obsession to you as I make my way toward HEALTH and WELLNESS and ADULTING. On to me pretending I know what I’m doing! The main quest is really to figure out my fitness and health life again. I seem to have lost my way a bit. Goal One: Oh Hey This Is New… RUNNING Half marathon training is over. The race is April 2nd. Now... I am going to work on RUNNING LIKE A GAZELLE! Speed training is on the docket. That means shorter more intense runs with intervals and sprints and fartleks… hehe, fartleks. Working on building more fast-twitch muscle so I can work toward a 35 minute 5k. 0/12 Goal Two: Time To Get Bendy I still need to work on flexibility, but I’ll be doing it through PiYo starting April 11th. Before that, I’ll just be kinda picking yoga things and doing them. That seems like a thing. My goal here is to follow the PiYo STRENGTH calendar along with my running schedule. We’ll be getting stronger and bendier! 0/16 Goal Three: Say No To Processed Foods I have been bad about eating out and eating processed crap and eating out lately. If I can’t make it myself, I ain’t eating it. I will be staying away from cheetos, McDonald’s, soda, etc. Points for each day I stay away from that junk. 0/28 Goal Four: Read A God Damned Book My life quest is to read a god damned book. I haven’t read a whole book in months. Lots of months. Maybe a year. I started one during a battle last challenge, but I never finished it. So… I’m going to read a book. I will get a point for every night I spend at least 30 minutes reading. 0/28 SIDE QUEST! Work On That Damned Cosplay! Yeah, I have a convention coming up... so I should probably style that wig... and finish painting that prop... and finish sewing that costume... So every time I complete something, I get an extra point! BECAUSE I WANT TO. THE END. Almost. And that sums it up! I’ll also be doing battle with other YouTubers, so go sign up to battle me. There is one spot left. Please. Do it. Because it’s more fun when we’re both miserable!
  3. POV around the world First of all, what does POV mean? The term "Point of View" describes first person video, stories or games. For a few month now I tried to create interesting POV videos by 'simply' cutting short video sequences together to make it looks like one fluent movement. Since I train Parkour, it was reasonable to create POV Parkour videos. Here you can see some of my latest work: Short Example (For Instagram) Long Example (For Youtube) - Product will be longer But then I got an idea: What if I cut together different persons in different areas around the world? At first people would not notice because they can't see the performer. The movement will be seen as one long run, all over the world with various styles and techniques! And that is where you can take part. If you like this idea, you can send me your POV video clips and I will collect them and try to create a video. BUT your video needs to - In the best case use a mouth mount, but a head - or chest mount will do similar results - It has to be a Parkour/ Freerunning Video. I have never filmed Tricking or Breakdancing, but if it looks good in first person, you can send these too! -> If you have interesting non Parkour POV clips I can try to bring them in. That could mean driving a scooter, cooking food in an exotic surrounding - If you have fillers, for example a normal shot of the surroundings or a shot of a scene (someone cooking, sunrise, birds flying ) = clips you see in travel videos - send them with the POV footage! - Movements at the beginning and the end of the video clips! This is the most important! You need to start your run with an extra movement to make it possible to connect the clips. I mostly use rolls or precisions with my hands on the ground (check this in the videos) since I can do that on flat earth. Kongs, Drops and normal jumps are easy to edit too, but may not be possible everywhere. You could move your head too, maybe look straight into the sky and looks fast down. Try to keep the beginning basic so I can use as much clips as possible. If you think that the beginning or end NEEDS to be this or that movement just do it, I will try my best. What am I going to do with given clips? I will try to create an awesome video for sure! BUT I am just a human beeing, learning and loving. So it might not turn out how you imagined it to be - but if the number of people taking part stays small I can show you wip worl I will create one long version for youtube and similar shorter ones for instagram. I will give credits by adding your links, names and social media in the describtion and/or tag you in the video. If you took part in the video, I will send you the movies too so you can upload them aswell if you give credit. If you are sending a clip, please write a short sentence in your email that you loose the right on this footage and that it can be uploaded on the internet. Otherwise I can't accept it. Still interested? send the footage (youtube link or drop box) of your high quality footage to ikarus.pictures.offical@gmail.com If you have any feedback, I would love to hear it below this post ~IkarusPictures (well I'm named Gurkour since I can't change my name so yeah)
  4. I made a status yesterday that I was going to try starting morning yoga with my almost 3 year old and her 3 year old friend that I've started babysitting 3 days a week. Today marked the first day my daughter has even seen yoga. (She's mimicked my squats and lunges around the house and even has her own toy kettlebell, but this is new territory for us!) So, I Googled. I YouTubed. I came across the video below and figured it was worth a shot! Bright colors, friendly presenter, easy poses... Yep. I did the whole 20 minute video myself. I pretended to be a lion that couldn't roar, stand tall like a giraffe and bend back like a camel. And the kids moaned for fruit snacks and 'Pocoyo' and I had to suck up all of that sadness that this would be a great way for all of us to do something together. I'M A PROUD LION, DAMN IT. Everyone starts somewhere. I guess I start with kids yoga. Let's see if it gets any better tomorrow.
  5. If you haven't seen it yet, and you want a good laugh, I recommend zefrank's "True Facts About..." nature videos. Aside from the katydid video, they've all be pretty hilarious. The video about the anglerfish is probably my favorite:
