  1. Hello, I am Arcelas, a former warrior from WoW. I have been transported to the real world by dark magic. I need another Orc to keep me on the warrior path. Online is fine. I'm trying to eat less and swing more comically enormous hammers.
  2. Hi all! I saw the Doodlies already have a thread, but as it's for Doodlies only I figured I'd make one for the non-Doodlies. This thread is for people looking for one or more accountabilibuddies to help them with the upcoming 4 Week Challenge. Post a link to 4WC thread, a brief overview of your goals for this challenge, and what you would like from an accountabilibuddy. Remember: You don't have to have matching goals to be an accountabilibuddy! All you need to have is some pom-poms and a willingness to cheer someone else on through the challenge.
  3. Okay! Last challenge was reasonably successful! I ate more protein for breakfast, tracked most of my meals, and kept up with my workouts. Q1: 25 g of protein for breakfast every day. I found the whole "Eat protein for breakfast" quest last challenge more confusing than motivating. Like...only protein? How much? So, yay for quantifying things! 25 g of protein to start off every day. Q2: Workout 3 times per week. I have had this in every challenge, which makes me wonder if, indeed, this counts as a challenge. But it keeps me accountable to have it here. Three times per week. Q3: Check in with other Rebels at least once a week. I have felt lonely so I'm going to go to the Accountabilibuddies and see if I can find somebody to hang out with. I run a business, which means I spend a LOT of time on the computer, and often I just can't make myself stay any longer to check in. So I'm going to make it part of my challenge! Life quest: I am still working on my business website and feel like I'm making good, exciting progress. My life quest is to have the site launched by the end of the challenge.
  4. Since we've become popular with people for an Accountabilibuddy group (10 memebers last challenge?!?), the Wild Hunt will ride again! We're focused on Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files. If you don't know about this amazing series, go check it out now here! The Wild Hunt is an ethereal hunting party, summoned from the depths of Faerie and made up of Sidhe lords and ladies along with their companions. It is designed to ride down prey with cold, and brutal, efficiency. While you are out late and alone one Halloween night, you hear the sound of a hunting horn and the baying of a pack of hounds. Terror grips you and you only have three choices: join, hide or die. Joining the hunt means competing again the best warriors of all time: Odin, Herne the Hunter, King Arthur, and the Erlking, among others. Hiding means you can only hope the monsters won't find you and kill you anyway; or if you choose to flee as prey to somehow outpace the horses. And dying...well, that's not really an option now, is it? If you choose to join, you are committing to working towards your challenges, whatever they may be, for the duration of the hunt (our 6 week challenge). Offering support to your fellow riders and being relentless towards your own goals. We will be dedicated and we will succeed or die trying! And for this Hunt, we will have mini-challenges along the way as well. All Dresden-themed of course! So what will you do: join, hide or die? Rules 1. Follow this thread and other members threads by clicking the red 'follow this topic' button at the top right of your screen. 2. Post a short introduction about yourself, what your challenge is all about and how it pertains to the Dresden Files. 3. Discuss the Dresden Files here! Members 1. elinox - Mastering Murphy's Methods (Dresden-themed) 2. Nessajel - Nessajel's Intro 3. Alathel - 4. PositiveBlue - Fool Moon (Dresden-themed) 5. TwinBear - Reassembling TwinBear 6. wineandwinter - Sort of First Challenge 7.
  5. It all started with a toothbrush and a mirror... That was the first time I realized that eating as much as I did when I was younger and fitting as much sports as I could into the rest of my hours definitely doesn't work if you stop the whole exercise aspect. It especially didn't help that drinking every single day for a year because I was on a Erasmus year in France was an acceptable, nay, required activity. There's nothing that can explain Newton's 3rd law quite as well as when your toothbrush brushes to the right and your man-boobs go to the left... I also don't think there is anything quite like the first time you finish your obligatory chest dance and then go "hehehe...aw wait, crap, I have man-naries!" It's been a couple of years since then and I had managed to accomplish one certain thing since then. The art of espionage. Taking a line from South Park and Steve, I had my underpants. Thanks to talking the gym talk and wearing the right **cough** baggy **cough** clothes, I had even gotten as far as the point where you wouldn't notice the man-boobs and I just came across as a "big guy". Then last week I bought a new toothbrush... A combination of living independently for the first time (i.e. too tired to cook, lets get take-aways), a 9+ hour Software Support job (i.e hunched over the desk all day with only breaks being the vending machine walk) and a new gym membership (counter-intuitive I know, but me going gym = "meh I'll work off the 3rd helpings") had slowly being building up. Next thing I knew it was last week and I was in the physio, being told I'd torn a shoulder muscle (from a fall but if anybody asks I was wrestling sharks) and had to take the next month off anything except running. Suddenly I'm in my bathroom yesterday moving my moobs up and down, singing "oh eh, oh ah ah, ting tang, walla walla bing bang" and slowly feeling the deja-vu hit me and I know I need to change. I'm not the best with the one to one but I knew I needed the accountabilibuddy. I had heard great things about the rebellion forum so figured I could keep my daily grind progress up and have whoever else would like to keep me accountable, keep me accountable. So....here goes nothing...

  8. Hey all, I have a membership to 24 hr Fitness and am looking for a workout buddy. I prefer the Northgate gym as it's nicer. I can workout in the mornings or evenings. I would love someone who prefers to split their workouts 1/2 cardio, 1/2 weights/strength training. I would also like someone who's focused on eating healthy as I really need some accountability with that. I'm a 32 yr old female. I don't care if my sidekick is male or female.
  9. Hi Nerds! I am looking for an accountabilibuddy that I could text with in order to motivate/remind each other to make good eating choices and to exercise. I find it difficult to follow a forum online as my schedule is quite random, thus texting is more flexible and convenient! I'm hoping to find someone that can help me, and who I can help in return! My goals are to lose around 50-70 lbs. I'm 23 and into video games, politics, movies, books (lots of books), and entrepreneurship - I'm sure we can think of some more things to chat about too . Looking forward to creating a mutually beneficial relationship with someone! Ashleigh
