  1. Recap! I am down 14# ! at the end of the challenge- week 4 you can see i started to fall off... lose steam... When I stepped on the Scale and saw '-14 lb' I freaked out a bit and couldn't believe it... I had been avoiding the scale if there was not change i would feel the work was not worth it- it has been a huge boost! Plan: The next Challenge: I have found a good audiobook helps be inactive be fun and not a chore. I finished Without Remorse (Jack Ryan Universe #1) Starring John kelly. https://goo.gl/TcWzSj The next book is Patriot Games (Jack Ryan Universe #2) ( https://goo.gl/GgyxEt )As my loot for this 4 week challenge I am eyeing an audible subscription! Back to the next challenge: for 'level 1' the challenge was simply tracking food (RE: first NFA mission) For level 2- Because food is emotion tracking is critical to success, I will continue with log food daily. In line with NFA missions I will add ' be active' Because the core obstacle has been 'habit' the focus will be consistency over 'quality'. lay RolePlay In the last challenge I wrapped up Without Remorse and learned about John Kelly and a brief introduction to Jack Ryan- it looks like in Patriot Games we will really get to know him.... Become him As my loot from last challenge I will be getting an Audible Subscription Since tha audio book is 22 hours and 1 minute I will have a target of 20-22 Listening movement: However the Meta goal is habit... so active 2-5 times a week or daily is better. Consistency Targets Continue Food logging: 5-7 times a week A - 7 days each week B - 5+ days each week C - 20+ meals the whole challenge Listening movement: 18 - 22 hours A - Listening movement 5+ days each week B - 3 + Workouts a week Moov work out 10+ minuets NFA Body Weight Work out C - 22 hours the whole challagne OR active 5 days a week Counts active IF any apply Google Fit says 1 Hr active for the day Log 5 + min Moov Work out 1 Hour plus of Moov a Active minutes Stretch Goal NFA missions Complete 75% of tasks of points per week Streaming One YT video or Twitch stream a week Domestic One 'Wall' tasks a week or 30+ min of progress *Wall - list of home projects or improvements NF recap Continue Food logging: Log with iEatWell 5-7 times a week Tt least 1 meal a day Easy picture Rate on how balanced Shows weekly summary Contingency plan: set total number of meals range Numbers: 4 weeks * 7 days * 3 meals = 84 meals 4 weeks * 5 days * 2 meals = 20 meals Listening movement: 18 - 22 hours Tracked activity that I can listen to an audiobook doing Good: walk, jog, bike, maybe Circuit weights Other: Cardio boxing,7 min+ Numbers: 22 hours / 4 weeks = 5.5hours / week 5.5 hours / 7 days = 42 minutes per day 5.5 hours / 3 days = 1 hours 50 min (110 min) per day
  2. I am looking for members close to my same level and skill. I am focusing on establishing consistency this challenge. The support that helps me thrive is ' Morning plan then evening follow up' in conjunction with discussion thinking kind of a sounding board method to verbally process. I have most of my epiphanies when I am retelling to someone.
  3. My Hero is Jack Ryan- I met him in Hunt for Red October. (yes I met him in the movie not the book) I did a little bit of the Tutorial quests and found out his story started in Without Remorse. A huge reason I am 'ranger' Jack is because the audio book is great to listen to while being active. I have done Huge- 'Smarter' Goals in the the past and 'burned out' To Kiss it: My '1st' challenge is 'Establish Habit' This will be accomplished by 'doing something for a month' Over this last week something has become 'Food log' with a stretch goal of 'active regularly' The Rewards for completing the challenge may be: (one of the below) 1 month Rising Heroes Phone Streaming app Reflector
  4. Looking for a Georgia rebel to help keep me accountable to my workout goals and eating habits. I'm into Fantasy/Science Fiction reading, some Xbox gaming, and writing.
  5. Hi! Several questions, but first background. I am 5'0", female, 18, and about 45 pounds overweight. 1. Half my family is doing Atkins ( the other half doesn't need to lose weight, which makes it really hard ), but I'm having a really hard time doing it because I can't seem to keep my carb count down. I'm eating the right foods, but I keep eating too many vegetables (cauliflower, brussel sprouts, green beans, etc), and I'm never sure if I'm using too much salad dressing (I like French and Caesar). Is there something I can do to make this easier, or is it something I just need to deal with? 2. Paleo vs. Atkins. Is one inherently better than the other? Not just in losing weight, but also in keeping it off and maintaining a healthy lifestyle? One allows fruit and not dairy, and the other allows dairy and not fruit (I love both). Is there a way to mix and match the diets and take the best from each one while still losing weight? With Atkins I can't have cheat days 'cause that messes up the whole body-in-fat-burning-mode thing. Is that how it is with paleo? Does one make you lose faster? Is one more reliable in keeping it off? Will I completely ruin it in paleo if I have cake and ice cream at Dad's birthday or with the occaisonal junk food snack? 3. Can you still lose weight if you're eating grains? Please don't tell me grains are bad for you; I don't believe that (I have evidence to back my belief up), so don't waste your time or mine trying to argue otherwise. I just want to know if the high carb count will counteract my losing weight or keeping it off. 4. Can I lose fat and build muscle at the same time? I don't care about looking muscular or toned or whatever- I just want to be stronger, more flexible, and have better stamina. Can my muscles improve to that while my body is burning fat? It seems to me doing that would help with the burning of fat because it could draw energy from the fat and the new muscle would also eat at the fat. 5. I tend to get bored when I exercise. I was doing a program that would get me up to doing 200 squats (in one set) in a day, and I was doing great, except I would get bored around the 18th rep. I'd like to train myself to run because it's useful in games and in case I ever need to run, but I get bored less than two minutes in. The same for using my stationary bike: it takes about a minute before I get hopelessly bored. I tried setting up so I watched a movie (doctor who, actually! ) while I cycled, but going at a steady pace I wasn't tired at the end, going any faster and I'm completely pooped in about ten minutes. Also when I try to do bodyweight exercises in my room, I can't because the floor squeaks and it disturbs my sisters (don't say do them another time, because I can't). So I guess my question in this, how can I build my strength and muscle in a way that I don't get bored. I'd still like to be able to do 200 squats and pushups and stuff, but if I'm bored I hate it and if I hate it I make excuses to not and if I make excuses I don't improve. I tried upping the intesity (ten jump squats instead of normal squats-to-boredom), but that still gets boring day after day. I think part of the problem might be I'm not being stimulated mentally, only physically. It's especially difficult to warm up, because that's five minutes when I'm not even pushing myself physically. Does anybody have any suggestions to stave off the boredom? And is there a faster warm up I could do in about a minute or less? 6. I'm tired all the time. Not exhausted, just in that want-to-lean-back-and-close-your-eyes kind of way. I get up between 6 and 7 and go to bed never any later than 10, but usually around 9. Am I getting enough sleep? Am I getting too much? Is this a result of a bad diet? Could it be not enough exercise? I'm at the same level of exercise I've been all my life (none) and it's only in the past year or so I've started feeling like this. 7. And finally, is someone willing to acountability buddy with me? Someone my age(ish) and gender (I say age because I'd feel more comfortable with someone my age. With an adult, it just gets complicated because I'm supposed to defer and can't disagree and stuff). I just want someone I can text with who will encourage and hold me accountable, and I'll do the same. I will not meet in person with you, so location doesn't matter. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I really really appreciate it.
  6. Hey there! I am struggeling with health problems for 2.5 years now. Sometimes they are are bad, sometimes good, sometimes worst. I tried out some things by now to get rid of it and for two days yet I fast. On Wednesday I had the pre-fasting day and yesterday the first day completely without eating (only drinking water, tea and rice soup). I am feeling awesome For about one hour there are slight hunger pangs now but really slight. Guess I am way to delighted about my health condition to give attention to it I started many challenges here so far but I failed each. On Mon, September 15 I am going to make another attempt. Maybe there are some people who also think about fasting or are even fasting at the moment also or are simply concentraining on their diet mainly in the next challenge (my main goal is to clear up my diet and I am going to have no side quests). I really could use a sidekick for this challenge and would be very happy if someone wants to fight as a team, pushing and supporting each other through the next six weeks. Greetings Curse PS: please don't get deterred by my username, it's just chosen by how I felt most of the time
