  1. As we enter the world of Anthem, we discover the story of a young Freelancer named Colwyn Plaigue and how he becomes one of the most deadly Interceptor pilots to fly the skies of Mirrus. In part one, we will see Colwyn undertake his first true test as a Freelancer and get a little taste of the action ahead. Profile: Colwyn Plaigue was not born into a family of Freelancers. In fact, he would go on to become the first Lancer of any sort within his families lineage. His Father was an Arcanist, as well as his mother and younger brother. To Colwyn, the ways of the Arcanist always bore him. He sought out more in life. Not just cheap thrills and the adrenaline spike of flying a javelin, but, Colwyn wanted to make a difference in protecting his home, Fort Tarsis. He could of been a Sentinel, the law enforcement within the confines of the Fort, but that just seemed boring too. No, it was the dangers that wait beyond the walls that called Colwyn's name. The giant beasts that threatened him and the people of Fort Tarsis. The Dominion and their army. The Scars. All of them. Having spent some time piloting the Ranger javelin as a rookie Freelancer requirement, Colwyn is finally able to branch off and fly the other three available exosuits. He has his sights set on only one javelin-the Interceptor. As the smallest and sleekest of all the javelins, the Interceptor is favored by Corvus' long range scouts, infiltrators and assassins. While it may not be the mightiest of the javelins, it more than makes up for it with unmatched agility and evasion. In order to obtain this javelin, Colwyn will need to pass the infamous Corvus test, called The Gauntlet...something that only has a 3% pass rate. There are three parts to the test: a physical exam, a mental fortitude exam, and a written test. In order to gain Corvus' favor and pilot the Interceptor, Colwyn will need to pass all three components. This challenge is about how he does so. **I will be RP'ing Colwyn throughout the entirety of the challenge/story.** Stats: Age: 28 Height: 6'2 Weight: 188# Hair Color: Copper Eye Color: Blue Goal #1: The Gauntlet Physical Exam What exactly is the physical portion of this test? It's a grueling test to push you to your physical limits. 2 min push-ups (min 55) Max pull-ups (min 7) Max planks (min 90 seconds) Max Burpees in 2 min (min 55) Max KB front squat w/ 2x 53# KB's (min 12) Max rack pull at 225# (min 10) 1 mile run time (Sub 10 min) 1 mile ruck with 25# (Sub 15:30 min) I have 5-weeks to train for this and pass. Chances are, I'll split this workout up into 2 different ones, like the cardio ones, on a separate day. Time to get to work! Possible Points: +3 STR, +2 DEX. +1 STA Goal #2: The Gauntlet Mental Fortitude Exam What exactly is the mental fortitude portion of this test? It's split into 4-parts testing ones strength of mind through torturous means. Waterboarding (1x 5-min cold shower a week) Starvation (1x 24-hour fast at least twice this challenge) Isolation (4 total hours doing Devotionals and scripture memorization-1 hour a week) Delirium (Average 7+ hours of sleep for the duration of the challenge) These goals will be playing the long game during the challenge and require me to buckle down on my discipline. Time to get to work! Possible Points: +3 CON, +2 WIS Goal #3: The Gauntlet Written Exam What exactly is the written portion of the this test? This part will test ones creative, interpretive and problem solving capacity. Essay (Spend 1 hour a week to writing) Multiple Choice (Post 4x short excerpts over the course of the challenge-one excerpt each week) I'm gonna figure out this writing thing! I want to be consistently writing so that way when my BIG challenge happens at the end of February, I'll already be in a flow. Time to get to work! Possible Points: +3 CHA, +1 WIS I want to end 2018 on a good note with good habits, discipline, and consistency. I'm turning my obsession with Anthem into something constructive and I'm SO SO SO excited about the upcoming epic challenge once the game releases. I hope you all journey with me and enjoy the ride !! Wolf
  2. For those that haven't seen Deadpool 2 yet...Well, shame on YOU. For realz. It's amazing. And it's awesome. And it's hilarious. And it's probably better than the first one.... Plus, there's Peter W-the star of the WHOLE FILM! With that being said. Let's dive right into the challenge, Sugarbear! Ad #1: The 10k Club I want to average 10k steps a day. Sitting down is the primary thing I do at my job and I hate it. I have 2x 15 min breaks, and a 30-min lunch. I want to set a daily standard and achieve 10k steps a day over the coarse of the challenge. That's about 5 miles a day. This will be challenging but, hey, this is a challenge after all. Possible Points: +4 END Ad #2: The 500 300 Club I want to get in 500 300 KB swings a week. That's less than 100 a day. 1-arm or 2-arm, it doesn't matter. Possible Points: +2 STR, +1 CON Ad #3: The Rock Star Club I didn't do all that hot with this goal last time as each week got worse and worse. I enjoy guitar practice and need to make time for it. Shoot for ONCE a week with ANY amount of time. Possible Points: +3 DEX, +1 CHA Ad 4: The Preachers Club I just did my very first ever sermon last night, 05/20/18 titled "Eyes on the Prize" on FB live. I want to expand on this and get better at doing these. This includes finishing my "Keep the Rust on Lust" series by the end of the challenge. That's basically 3/5 weekends (including Zero Week) that I need to do a sermon. Also, prep for the live sermon at my buddies church coming up! Possible Points: +2 WIS, +2 CHA I'm upping the ante here, but I'm ready. My mind is ready. And most importantly, my body is ready. Wolf
  3. *PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT* THIS CHALLENGE DOESN'T TAKE ITSELF SERIOUSLY AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU. THAT'S AN ORDER! FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD POOLGUY'S, WADE (AND WOLFIE) Ok...So, with all the anti-hype rolling about, I'm saying "fuck it" to my goals and just surviving the last days of 2017. Yeah! Fuck it! We ain't got NO time for NO bullshi- Chill, Wade. Remember....no hype, please. Yes. Deal with it. As I was saying...I'm not worried about my goals but I do want to get back into good habits. Habits like- Learning to spank it with your left hand...gotta be amadextrious, bruh! ...Drinking more water is what I was gonna say. I was at 3L a day until things happened and totally derailed me. C'mon, Wolfie, give me break....I haven't taken a shit since last Wednesday.....Chimichangas got me ALLLLLL backed up! And Thor played a cruel joke on me... Serves you right, Wade...you can be such a glorified dick sometimes. AS I WAS SAYING... I want to eat better. We've had the blessings of our friends and family bringing us food for the rest of the month and we don't have much control on what they bring, so I will be revamping my diet and getting back on a lower carb-higher fat diet. Are tacos low carb? No. Well then your new diet is shit. Tacos are life. I thought you said cocaine was? That too...But TACOS, MAN! This has gotten WAY off track. I'm sorry y'all. Y'all? HA! Where's your steed there, buckaroo? Hiding in your ass, Wade. Yee haw. Wait...are you ACTUALLY trying to be funny cuz that was pretty good? Maybe. Can I finish now? Like I finished on your moms FACE last night? HA! Eat it, Wolfie! Mega buuuuuuurn! Whoa, Michael Scott?! I love The Office. Hey Wade... Yeah, Wolfie? Vanessa just blew me and said my peepee's WAY bigger than yours. *shakes head in disbelief* We're getting no where with this. Anyways, before Wade decides to fuck up more of my intro post, I wanted to say "Welcome, get comfy, kick your feet up and let's have a blasty blast. 'Tis the Holiday Season after all... Wolfpool
  4. Damn, what a handsome bunch of assholes you are. Hold on, let me capture this wonderful Kodak moment. Beautiful. That one’s going in the spank-bank folder. Now, down to business. You losers know why I called you all here. You invaded my fucking universe and all claimed to be the one true Deadpool. You've been involved in all kinds of fucked up shit and I'm the one getting the blame for all of it. This bullshit ends now. We're going to have a little competition to determine who is the best and the one and only Deadpool. Whoa whoa, hold your horses guys and gals, it's not going to be a fight. We all have the same super power and if we start slicing each other up, it'll go on forever, and I'm gonna be left sweeping up a huge fucking pile of severed limbs. We're going to settle this like little kids and have a race. Only in this race, the fastest one doesn't win. You have four weeks to get as far away from here as possible. The Deadpool that's the furthest away in 4 weeks time wins. Oh and one more thing. Attempting to screw over your competition is wrong and will not be tolerated…. Nah! I'm just fucking with ya! Be the deplorable bunch of ugly ass mercenaries that you are! You wanna hack of someone's leg so they have to hop for the next 3 miles until it grows back, go for it. Actually, do that, record it and share it to the Facebook group, it'll be fucking hilarious. I wish you all the worst of luck and I hope you all fucking kill each other. Now you all wait here while I….. head out this back door……… for no reason whatsoever...... Later, dickwads! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the same as the previous "how far can you go" PvP that we ran a few months ago. Except this time, you get to be Deadpool! Select your Deadpool variant by putting your name under your selected character on the sheet. Put your name and character selection on the logging page Character & Logging Sheet The Rules This is for running and walking only, no cycling! Running / walking can be outdoors or on a treadmill The challenge is for any miles that are additional to any "regular" miles you may do. So, for example, a daily walk to work or walking around a grocery store this doesn't count. Log all runs / walks on the spreadsheet. It doesn't have to be full miles, part miles are allowed. The person with the most amount of miles at the end of the challenge wins! This challenge is open to all. There are 15 characters on the sheet, so if more than 15 people want to join in, you can either add your own DP variant or let me know and I'll add some more Good running everyone! And remember to run like the taco truck is pulling away!
  5. "It's good to be home," Steve said, shouldering his duffel and eyeing mine as we made our way to the elevator. I just re-adjusted the bag on my shoulder. There was no way I was letting anyone carry my bag but me. Not at the Tower. No matter how chivalrous Steve was wanting to be. "Yeah," I agreed. "Yoo-hoo!" the voice echoed in the concrete of the underground parking lot. "Petra!!!" I looked around, half-recognising the voice. A flash of red sped between cars, and I dropped my duffle. "Wade Winston Wilson, you bastard," I called, a grin spreading across my face. "Baby!" Wade said, rising from between two SHIELD-issue black sedans. I felt Steve tense next to me as Sam started chuckling. "Darlin'," I drawled in return, half-jogging towards the merc. "Dude, it's been years!" I got pulled into a katana-filled hug. "Glad to see you're in one piece, sweetness," he said, serious for once. "And that's the only time I'm gonna be serious in the whole thing, Author-lady, so there!" I shook my head, used to Wade's antics. "Ridiculous as ever, Wilson," I said. "Have you met the family yet?" "What, including Mr. Man-mountain who's glaring at me?" Wade asked. "I know Fly-boy over there - heya, hot stuff!" he waved cheerily at Sam, who half-saluted back. "Come on, then." I picked up my duffle as we returned to where Steve was still standing. Wade was right - he didn't look happy. I grinned a little wider. "Why so serious, Steve?" I asked, bumping his shoulder lightly with my own. "Here - this is Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool. Wade, this is Captain America himself - Steve Rogers." "Heya, Cap," Wade said, extending a hand. "Nice to meet ya. And I gotta say, Stark is right. A human Dorito with an ass I'd kill for." "Wade!" I blushed. Not that I disagreed. I just knew better than to say it out loud. "Hey, I have no filter," Wade protested. "And if I did, you wouldn't know it was me." "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Wilson," Steve said, shaking Wade's hand. "Your reputation precedes you." "Oooh! Which one?" Wade actually bounced. "The one where I can't be killed? Or the one where I kill everything? Or the one where I leave on the mask so people won't be blinded by my beauty?" "You don't actually have to answer him," I whispered to Steve. "He's weird, but good people nonetheless." "I trust you," Steve murmured back, and warmth glowed in my chest. "How about we all drop off our stuff?" We all moved in the direction of the FRIDAY-controlled elevators, me quizzing Wade on what had happened to him since the last time we'd met. "So - I heard something about you and a brand of soap? Please tell me he's double dead..."
  6. Continuing on from my previous challenge with similar goals and Deadpool goodness Goals 1. Stick with Half Marathon Training Plan I've got 8 weeks till my next half marathon and training is going well so far. I just need to stick to my training plan to run 3-4 times a week. The plan is to a long run on Sunday (unless it's OCR week), a recovery run Tues, speed or hill session Thurs and Parkrun on Saturday (again, unless it clashes with an OCR). 2. Strength train when not running incl GtG chin ups. Pretty self explanatory, do a strength training routine - whether that's lifting or body-weight based - 2-3 times a week (climbing is included in this too). Also keep working on chin ups whenever I can to try and do more than one. 3. Stretch properly and foam roll my ass regularly. I've started to let this slide again and my body is starting to suffer because of it. I need to make sure I warm up before running, stretch afterwards, and try to foam roll whenever I can, particularly my ass! I did a 10k run yesterday and my left glute seized up so badly I struggled to walk back to the car! If i'm going to increase my running distance and intensity, I've got to look after my butt! I'm also going to experiment with some BCAAs to see if these help with recovery. Bonus goal - Don't eat like a dick on weekdays. Keep a food log Mon-Fri. I'm allowed to eat what I like at weekends but that doesn't mean I can go crazy. I started tracking what I ate in the middle of the last challenge and found it helpful to just keep me mindful of what I was eating. I'm not monitoring calories or trying to lose or gain weight, I just want to make my diet healthier to try and keep my energy levels up and hopefully stop me catching every bug that goes around!
  7. Hi Everyone, I have named this the Deadpool (Or Skull Poo L - hopefully you get this reference) challenge as my aim is to get back to how I used to look, fight some enemies and have a great time getting there. Hopefully at the end I will of gained a lot more skills and abilities and be better than where I used to be. (Would also be great to look like Ryan Reynolds) To be able to get there I will do what I love but also do some things I dislike to reach my goal. As we all know we only have a certain amount of willpower so will be aiming to minimise times when I will have to use this. Overall my aim is to move to either the Warrior or Assassin class. I am still recovering from tearing two ligaments in my ankle and am 10 months into an 18 month recovery so believe I will end up moving to the Warrior class. Main Quest: Weight down to 85kg - heaviest at Jan 1 was 110 kg - Current is 97.3 Body Fat to 12% - Current is 20% This is mostly my yearly challenge which is suspect to change depending on peformance. Rebel Challenge Level 1 Diet Meal Prep at least 5 meals per week (aim for every lunch time or 4 lunches and 1 dinner) So far have been going surprisingly well but this is the main aim Fitness 80kg Front squat and 120kg Deadlift Current front squat 60kg - Increase is fairly big however only stared front squats last week so big chance of increase Deadlift 100kg Practice Handstands at least 3 times per week https://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/10/24/how-to-handstand-better-than-luke-skywalker/ - aiming to follow this Life Meditate at least 4 times per week In bed before 10pm 4 times per week Weight Current weight is 97.3 - Would like to get to 95 but if other goals are met weight is not as important This is less of a goal but more acknowledging that what I am doing is having an impact Still Deciding on how I will distribute my attribute points but would love some ideas. Strength (STR) - physical strength Dexterity (DEX) - agility and speed Stamina (STA) - Endurance and Energy Constitution (CON) - ability to resist damage and disease Wisdom (WIS) - intuition and sense of things around himself Charisma (CHA) - force of personality and physical attractiveness I believe I will be aiming to improve strength, stamina and constitution but would love some recommendations. Also being Australian I believe this photo works wonders.
  8. Oh, hi there. You must be the group of friends that my buddy Wolfie here tells me about. I gotta tell ya, you guys are pretty fuckin cool. I mean, look at the beard growth in this community! And the broga (BTW, I’m going to steal that and if you have an issue with it, take it up with my unicorn!) Who am I? Well now, that’s a silly question. I'm Captain Deadpool! No wait..just Deadpool. I do lots of cool shit like this gif below of me from my movie. That's Ajax I'm fighting-he's a nice guy to work with. I’m here to tell you all that I’m not doing this for free, though as most of you would assume with the likeness of Ryan Reynolds and your very own Ryan aka Wolfie that I would, I am not. A man’s gotta get laid...I mean paid, ya know? Are you confused yet? Yeah, so was I until this shitstick of a Ranger named “Wild Wolf†approaches me with a grand scheme. A plan that’s worthy of some things...some personal things… Shut up and get to the point! Okay...okay… someone's a widdle angwee.. Wild Wolf has asked me to introduce his next challenge and be a personal icon or theme or cabana boy...I don’t remember the crazy shit he was talking about, but we both decided to never speak of that night again. (He took his pants off and vowed to mushroom tattoo the whole waiting staff at Taco Bell..or was that me..) All I know is that he wants me here for 4-weeks and now he has me. Kinda. I still gotta beat up the bad guys and bug the shit out of Spiderman and Wolverine...ya know, Wolvie... he’s really not as angry as people say. He’s a gentle soul that…†Sorry Logan..Love ya! BACK TO THE CHALLENGE! As I was saying. I’ll be here. More than likely I’ll be stalking most of you since Wolfie gave me his username and password, but I won't make promises that it will be in the friendly way..I have issues you know? Also...go see my movie! It’s Marvel’s biggest February opening EVER! Don’t take your kids though. I say lots of bad words, I have lots of sex, and I kill lots of people. Did I mention Ryan Reynolds plays me in the movie? Yeah, he’s a cool guy too. Not a great actor, but funny as hell. Speaking of ass... Well that's not very nice, TJ Miller. But it's true...I do like the inside of someone else's asshole... Am I ADHD or what?! Without further-fuckin-ado, I present to you Wild Wolf’s next 4-week challenge where he gives Maximum Effort and Expresses some Rage… Deadpool
  9. So I may or may not have seen the Deadpool movie on Valentine's Day.... She saw it. She totally saw it. Yeah, Wade. That was obvious. Not to me, sweet cheeks! Can I get back to my story now? Yeah, yeah, sorry. You're doing the important stuff. The life-changing accountability... let me get out of your way- Anyway. I love Deadpool - who doesn't? - and maximum effort! has become my life motto, so I decided to make this challenge Deadpool themed. Because life is better when approached with humour, sarcasm, and a death wish. Couldn't have said it better myself. And yet you felt the need to comment.... So, without further ado *trumpet sound effects* My first challenge, or, Winning At Life With Wade Winston Wilson. Part One: Work Out! (10 xp) Oh yeah, her author-ness wants me to say that she's logging her epic quest in the epic quest thing, and that's what the xp points are all about. I'm only doing this under sufferance. She doesn't control me. Much. Thank you, Wade. I'm running every day (have been for a few months now - on Day 59, yay!) and started strength training last week. I'm shooting for three times a week, and I'm on Bodyweight Brigade Level 1 now. I might level up during this challenge, but the consistency is more important to me than the increase in difficulty. So, to win this I will do 12 workouts, barring injury. Part Two: Eat Popcorn (15 xp) Popcorn? I love popcorn! It's what people eat when they watch movies. And I love movies. Especially ones with me in them, that are wildly successful, and deserve sequels... This one's not about the popcorn. Not really. I tend to emotionally eat when I'm stressed, when I'm feeling overwhelmed, and when I'm tired. So to succeed in this challenge, I need to do the following. First of all, eat healthy snacks when I feel the urge to comfort eat. Popcorn and carrot sticks (seriously, those things are delicious!) are much better than crisps and Hobnobs. And even better than popcorn and carrot sticks is seeing the urge to eat coming and trying to divert myself. Not that I expect to beat the habit in four weeks. I just want to see if I can become more aware of it, to start off with. Part Three: Drink More (Water)! (10 xp) Water? Really? You're no fun. Ok. You're some fun. But still. Water? That's boring. Actually, Wade, I agree. Water isn't my favourite thing to drink. I have a Tony Stark-level love of coffee, especially in the morning. But I feel better when I'm more hydrated, not to mention that my skin is clearer, and it's probably better for me to drink more water anyway. So my goal is to drink at least two litres of water 4 days a week. That's 16 days in total. Part Four: Good Morning Mojo! (15 xp) What the hell? Dude. You have been reading way too many self-improvement books, lady. Seriously. Can't you come up with a better name than that? Wade, if you come up with a better name, let me know. Seriously. Dude. No sassing the mercenary! Pot, meet kettle. Those in glass houses... Should not walk around with katanas. In all earnestness, though, this one's going to be the hardest for me. My goal for this is to every day pick an affirmation (doesn't have to be new every day), and say it, out loud. One, I'm not a spiritual person at all, so it feels weird. On the other hand, I'm a huge believer in the placebo effect, so I'll take what I can get there. Also, if I'm honest, I'm not as confident in myself, and specifically my body, as I'd like. It's only been about a year since I was able to actually see myself as attractive at all, and I find myself backsliding lately. Not that I want to be stuck-up or anything. I just .... I'm not sure how to explain it. I don't want to look at myself and see the parts I don't like. So yeah. Affirmations. One a day, in the morning. So that's it from me and me! for now. I'll be posting at the end of every week with a report, and daily in my battle log, which I'll link below as well. Wade? Anything you want to say? Need you ask? Anything I want to say? So many things. Don't match your purse to your shoes. Hello Kitty is always acceptable. Katanas are awesome. And totally appropriate in conservatories, don't let her tell you otherwise. Wolverine - Wade! Stop there. Please. I meant about the challenge. You know, any advice for me? Or anyone else reading this? Oh! Oh, that. Um... Advice. Sure! Advice! Don't get into fights with people named after soap companies. Also, true love conquers all. Also- Wade.... Right, right. What's that you always say? Oh yeah. FOR THE REBELLION! *whispers* maximum effort! Bye guys. Let me know if you enjoyed it For the rebellion, Petra. MAXIMUM EFFORT!!!!!! Also, links - my battle log is here
  10. Hey everyone I am back for my 4th challenge! I am using Deadpool as my inspiration for completing this challenge. The main goal of this challenge is to work on my weak links so to say. For me right now the three main things are core, flexablility and networking with other people. So without further delay here are my goals: Core routine 1X a week\ Handstand 1X a week +3 (STR) +3 (CHA) How can I be the mercinary in red if I can't manage to fit in the uniform?! so my abs routine is this: bicycle crunches 15-20r hanging knee lifts 15-20 r wood chops on cable 15-20 r swiss ball crunches 15-20 r russian twists 15-20 r ab wheel from knees 15-20 r and I will do this for 4 sets. Also I will be upping the reps each week by 10. 6Th week = 60repsX4sets Also I will be working on my handstands. nothing fancy just need to get more comfortable upside down. I will be following the video below. It takes me through a progression starting with the hollowbody progression. by the end of the challenge I hope to be able to do a handstand. the progression is: Hollowbody Wall facing in Wall facing out L-Stand Freestanding Will try to get pics of me attempting each step https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3FSeSecjKA Yoga +3(STA) +3(DEX) So my flexibility skills have suffered lately and I have been feeling really stiff. So I am just going to throw in some yoga 2X a week. I am going to start with power yoga but will most likely try out different styles. I might check out the gymnastics stretches I did in a previous challenge. Either way its time to get stretchy! Community +3 (CON) How can I be the Merc with a Mouth if I don't get out there and chat it up?! I will dedicate myself to participating in all of the mini-challenges that come up for the guild. As well as checking in on everyone's progress. Side note I recently quit smoking, and I also kicked my caffeine habit. So no point for this but I will maintain no nicotine and no more than one caffeine drink a day. And that's it! I look forward to seeing how everyone does. Miska23
  11. Deadpool’s Challenge Of Deadpool-ness!: Rotate an MMA workout, a parkour workout, and flexibility work randomly to confuse my body. Maybe listen to music that doesn’t exist in our universe. Goal: Work strength, endurance, flexibility Reward: +4 STR, +4 DEX This challenge is to bring me to un-Earthly abilities in stamina and flexibility. My life goal for this challenge is to get a job in my field of study. As for random-ness, we shall roll a die: 1 or 6 is MMA, 2 or 5 is parkour, and 3 or 4 is flexibilty.
