  1. I recently attended a flow yoga class. I found myself mentally poking fun at a lot of the centering practices, and the very calm easy going style of the class. The irony here is that I'm a grown adult who signed himself up for the course! I recognize that my initial resistance to an idea is born out of a lot of knee jerk reactions, with the emphasis on jerk. (As with most adults, I've flitted about various personal paths, and ultimately settled on "Eh, I'll keep doing me." Admittedly, there are parts of me that miss practicing, and I'm trying to get back to those. But first, I have to stop being a jerk about things I want to do.) Have any of you dealt with this sort of reaction to an exercise or mindfulness practice, even though you wanted to pursue it? How did you work through it? Make no mistake, I know this takes work, and I know a lot of it is (as my post says) getting over myself. I actually have a different style of yoga class scheduled for this evening, as I know yoga isn't one size fits all and there are many schools to be had.
